8K Bery - MA serioulsy? What is this shit?

I'm glad things are going back to the way they were. It's how things were when I started. I remember as a noob at swamp camp seeing another noob hit a 1.4k Daiki young right in front of me. Instantly hooked. Say what you want but most will agree the game was more fun back then.

I hope this is a sign of MA going back to basics in other areas as well.
 
Why u guys keep crying about this?

Its freaking sad, 95% of hunter hoflist is for "mid" and high level players ALL the time.
So you got to invest 5k usd in gear and guns to hit a good hof..?

Screw that..we noobs deserve a hof now and then ,in fact they should pop everyday.

We all want a broader player base right?

I have no problem with 80% returns or even less, if I know that one single loot can bring me into all time profit after nearly 1 year of losses.
If max multiplyer does not pay for the loss from my last 2 hunts, it does not make sense to hunt for me.
 
This is a standard top tier loot. Why was no one complaining about the 29k aurli? Same diff, except you get better returns on bery
 
Well, 10 yrs ago I shot a Itumatrox Mature and looted 18kped. So whats the difference?
Theres many loot theories, in my case I think alot of avas filled the lootpool for itumas and I emptied it.
No news.

on topic: matter of probability. I can't see anything wrong with a small monster giving huge loot, but it should be a rare occurrence obv. that's all.

And the perfect loot distribution method, so we can end this conversation once and for all, is what?

I've only been playing for a decade but seems like a normal thing to me. MA have always tweaked the degree of volatility within of payouts, and people bitch however it is, but it is boring and uninspiring when there is too little variance in normal results and too small a chance for any kind of result that feels like a win or, in this case, a jackpot.

As they introduce a new system that seems intended to address many of the shortcomings of Old Loot, one of the things that's nice to see is jackpots like this, and it always has been. As a Commando without a hunting uber, there is hope for me yet :)

Noobs getting ubers from noob mobs is great imo, it can potentially bring many more players to the game, and some of those will undoubtedly get addicted enough to depo far more than what they get in return.
However, it should be better balanced, as mentioned by others in this thread. Big hofs on low hp mobs should happen occasionally, not several times nearly every single day.

As it stands now, I fail to see why I should invest in expensive gear, or why I should aspire to become an uber at all, when the hof board repeatedly tells me I'm better off mindlessly grinding noob mobs instead.
 
It was top multiplier on shitty pec/action action activity. That bery guy is now screwed for years. Nothing to see here.
If u are angry about such loot you dont understand even bit how it works. Really nothing to be jealous of.

Hi, since you are full of knowledge, care to explain why would the bery guy be screwed for years lol?

As I see the loot distribution through the years, there are plenty of repeated wins/jackpots for active players, no?

I meant that excluding gambling fallacy, there is such thing as probablity density. Also exceptionaly big multipliers like that bery one is rather rare in comparison to more often occuring lower ones. Such big multipliers, measureed in "thousands x" ofcourse happens more often for those who are probing system in search of them . Mine "screwed for years" was assuming typical or even less than average activity. You are right, it could be year or less. Also there was 2 ATH's in same day by same person in the past happened.

I also based that on my own experience and good multipliers tracking. Since 2003 i had only 3 multipliers over 10 000. One resulting with naked enmater tower, 2nd resulting in ATH and third resulting in some silly (like this bery) uber on ripersnaper. All in all I consider myself lucky, course 2 out of those 3 good multipliers were nailed on activity costing > 0,50 ped per try, and taht resulted in nice loot. But I see ppl hitting similar ones on 1 pec per click blueprints. When such happens and you are aware of its genesis, then you can only facepalm yourself in anger and disbelief.
If you are not here after the money, and just for fun you probably dont care about multiplier mechanics anyway :)
 
Ty shoti for a reply, very good explanation... and kinda my thoughts, sorta harder to put out myself, since my primary language isnt english.

I think Its good for the broader populace`s feeling to have a chance hitting that sweet jackpot even on smaller mobs/crafts/mining tools.

And btw, this "game" is supposed to offer us fun, not anger, greed and frustration. Its a wishfull thinking I know, but still...

I can go either way with it for me any time I see a Kerb over 1k I say "Ewwwwwwwww garbage" It is what is in my heart so don't judge.

It is interesting there are some big multipliers on mobs now but I feel it isn't regulated well yet or implemented correctly. Right now the message is if you hunt bigger than L5 mobs you probably won't get an Uber. Why would a hunter hunt within his range if its L20-L30 or higher if the loot is in L5. (you can debate this of course but that is the message being sent right now)

I don't see anywhere close to enough multipliers or Ubers on Huon, Atrox, Teleadon, Ambu, Mututated mobs, Feffox etc hitting for 5-20k. So the hunters that hunt these mobs that are popular think let me hunt some Kerbs which is crappy. No one wants to hunt Kerbs or whatever low lvl Argo etc.

Having one good Kerb or Bery every couple months though seems like it would be fine someone won that loot lottery and you should be able to win at all levels.

Problem is doesn't seem like anyone is winning at L20+ mobs. Would like to see some top HOFs from the mobs i listed that gets hunters excited. Right now it isn't exciting and I started working on some low lvl missions cause I want to get a 4k HOF on a L4 mob just like everyone else now.

TLDR - there is no balance now. The message being sent is hunt small or blow ped on big mobs that gets funneled into small mobs on the HOF board.

I feel more confident that I can get an Uber on a L5 then a L30 with the same kill count.

So obvious tweaking is needed.

I want it to be known, that as the OP, I didn't think I was ever one of the ones to be crying about it. What I missed was seeling 1-2k Atox ubers each day. I never think I'd see an 8k bery. I just heard so much about these multipliers based on HP and that was the law of the land, and wanted to point out that it is thrown out the window I guess now.

I want to see something in the middle. Make it possible to get a 1K or more bery. I always rather see 8 people get a 1k then one get an 8k - which is what I thought people were crying about the most. A big one dropping occasional is one thing, but I've just noticed it happen almost daily.
This trend, paired with the increased focus on getting high end items and other things from loot boxes, continues to have me concerned with the devalue of skills. Why hunt big mobs for (L) items with no markup when I can just hunt small mobs for 8k loots and buy some loot boxes for chance to get uber item.

Also - I always thought MA doesn't listen to this forum. I'd be amazed to learn otherwise. I almost never hear from our community manager and that always makes me sad.

Anyhow - ty for the great comments thus far, I'm surprised it stimulated some good discussion.
I always want the best for EU and it's players.
 
if each mob type is more or less a progressive jackpot now in loot 2 point whatever it makes sense that the penny slots are paying out more as there is more gamblers at those machines... Payout on the higher cost slots may be potentially better, but that progressive number that can pay out won't rise if there's no one playing em.

Everyday I go - "lets see the noob hof of the day" and everyday there is some "noob" mob that is in the top 20.

You must have missed the 10K Kerbbie Alpha last week I think it was. But not to play one up but in 2010 I looted an Argonaut gather for 12,824 ped. I also remember back in the day when 25K atroxes young and matures almost every day and when it wasn't them it was the little feffs.

I saw secret mindark employee interview on youtube @mccormick9000 channel and it is on good authority that they don't even read this forum anymore.
 
Sad to see that people do not understand the underlying problem with the mechanics.

Skilled players will create new ava's, chip it up and mine FOMA for towers/ath's ( look out for people buying lvl 2-5 amps and esi's ) , similar with EP and hunting. Skilling is what every and any game is about except a casino and sadly MA has decided that newbie retention can best be done by dangling a carrot in front of them instead of improving game mechanics etc.

Watch out for newbie ath's on Foma/ EP newbie ath's, as if newbies would actually just head over to FOMA and start mining with lvl 5 amps or do EPIV on condition..lol
 
How much of it was oil and shrapnel though? Id like to see uber (UL) stuff dropping again.

level 5 amps on foma dont even come close to an ATH with the maximum possible drop on them (when using a standard finder like f-105 and not preamped)
 
I will never stop playing until I get a Chirpy ATH.
