wasnt it even more impossible to compete before the change? i mean the same 20 guys win every event all the time. now it will be getting a little more diverse at least and some that didnt have a chance before do have one now. dont see where this is bad
 
Well this will be interesting. But I most admit im fan of the HP requerments to each instance. Im at 198 HP so for now im glad im under 200:laugh:
 
i dont realy care about competing since i dont feel my avatar skills or eqipment is good enough to win...

But i would like to participate in event like mayhem... but current changes does not seem to allow me. Current HP limit to what category you can join might be good for players with superb equipment and ped card... but it is not good for me and many others like myself
(lets say i enter a casino where they ask me how tall i am... and if i am over 190cm i need to play highroller tables... anyone else see anything wrong with that?)

In recent entropia i see L4 mobs drop 7k Hofs... so why are players forced to hunt higher in events? HP limitations are just not cool...
I do not want to gamble on L40 mobs i want to hunt smaller i dont want to gamble big becouse than i can not afford to lose.

As far as i am concerned just copy ark goldrush event and it will be fine... players will go hunt what they feel they can... lose as much as they can afford... but forcing to hunt/gamble big is just not the way to do event.


Anyway i hope MA realize that and change those rules... incase they dont no big deal i just wont be able to participate (read again PARTICIPATE)... winning anything is not an option anyway.

you cannot always satisfy 100% of the ppl....in the past there were lvl restrictions->many werent happy, then category change-->many werent happy , now more categories with dps limit-->a few arent happy....

Well the change this year might be one of the best ever since mm-instances.....every1 can participate and have chances....and even if you dont have the "most allowed dps" in the category...you CAN participate..only depends you your definition... 1 hour or 10 or 100....and who says that bigger mobs are always bad?

just try it out...

and this is for the base dps thingie...you dont know what buffs,rings,cloaks etc the ppl have..so that all really doesnt matter for ppl who only want to participate....but the pp which wanna go for a socket price...they will have also to think /plan alot about it ,not only the skill matters now :cool:

Last year there were snargs L1 or L2. Not sure why you feel someone is forcing you to do anything...

Me neither, it's An improvement. If only they would have lowered the max base dps with 10 for each category..

How happy everyone was for the extra HP now all of the sudden everyone regrets it =))

Question 2MA, will expense accounted with same magic Accounting and CDL holders posse.. d again. As I understood HM already was accounted on other than CaLY accounting (at least that looks for HM boxes)
That makes loose any and all of trust with any Your investment promises

Change in event looks interesting, but I am gues excluded of Solo, as due HP getting into Cat6. .... but Miner/ crafter and my highest hunting proff is just like 55... so really lack DPS 2 compete . I also assume that mobs there will be above my armors....

There are two things: If it's a competition in how fast you can bring down a boss mob, then it's about dmg/sec. Indirectly, how good defense you have (evade, armor and fap) so you spend less time healing and more time shooting. Those who have good gear can then collect the event-Winner tokens, and if you're a typical mid-level player (not matching top dmg/sec) you'll never be Close to the winning position and you'll get less tokens.

The other thing is how mob dmg is balanced. If the mobs are big enough they start to deal higher damage, and if you have typical mid level gear (ghost as opposed to jaguar, for instance) and boss mob is aimed at level 50 evaders rather than level 30 evaders or so, so it hit each time at, say, 80 dmg/hit on average; it starts to be undoable. Especially if you can't bring a fapper. For haloween mayhem vampire boss and the earlier Xmas mayhem, the level 3 boss was just enough for me, dealing manageble damage and not spending too much of ammo. If I would be forced to level 4 (where I guess I would really belong), the boss would be likely to be out of range to me and also more risky in terms of "loot swings".

Cat.7's Max base DPS is 98 = weapon max dmg x (attacks per min. / 60)

example is Isis Project Zero-X: 81 x ( 73 uses / 60)

81 x (1.2166666) = 98.549994

so.... this weapon could not be used in Cat 7?

Zero-X dmg is 40.5 - 81 with 73 uses per minute
 
So, we get strongboxes without keys in loot, then we also have to buy keys in webshop, so we pay for our loot again?

I think this is no longer a event to join.

Question consering weapon of choice:

Based on my HP I'd end up in Cat6:
Category 6
Max Health: 200
Max Base DPS: 90

looking at the list as provided by immortal, I could for instance use this weapon:

Cat BASE DPS CLASS TYPE NAME
6 86.5 Pistol BLP Emik X5

If I could get my hannds on a T10 X5, and a good BLP amp and some buffs, I could end up doing a lot more than 90 DPS - will I be able to use a setup like this?

small change from 'able to' to 'have to' - you will have to use a setup like that, as 1 setup can easily be shared around people who trust each other.
It will thus be all about using max tiers, biggest amp, and best buffs available, then doing a few runs to get a great time, before handing the setup on to the next rental/friend if the setup is not yours.

It's a big move away from many hours of grinding, so the number of active people [using any old setup] will very much depend on how good the mu is, or rather the overall attractiveness of the loot including the tokens and what they can be exchanged for.

the cap is for BASE dps, not for the max dps you could get amped and buffed up

Well again, this is in response to forum complaining every year about the same people winning. Now it is an "esports"-esque event of sorts of who can win with the fastest time. There is still the FFA at the end though.
 
maybe dumb question,
but I'm reading this as it won't LET me into categories where my health is over the max, and if I have a weapon above that DPS?

I doubt I even have a weapon above that level DPS anyways.

I liked when you could do categories lower level if you wanted

Somewhere in this thread it was stated that it won't let you equip weapons with base dmg greater than the stated

But we have to buy the keys! YES or NO ?
Then we have to pay for the loot we got twice. I know we get also other loot. But i just dont like to buy keys from shop to open my loot i get. Also if this is only a part of the loot.

You feel free to complete your remaining kerberos iron mission while others loot tons of markup.

No you don't. The box itself is the loot and you can sell it to others for markup. Please explain where there is a NEED to pay for loot twice. Halloween boxes have sold for upto 10 peds each and people made a killing out of it even without having to deposit via keys and open boxes.


Awesome preview. This is exactly what has been asked for many years now. Also for a change no one commented on the fact that every time MA does anything we call them greedy. Removing the hours commitment is a huge change and should be well appreciated by most. Looking forward to the full details.

Made 10k PED myself selling ones I looted. Not sure why people get so salty about it. Best thing they've done with boxes so far was actually helping the economy by allowing them to be traded.
