This is a known issue and should be fixed in the upcoming patch.

A previous VU broke chat channel subscriptions, but no fix has been applied ever since and nobody replies to repeat reports of it here. This is but one out of many known issues.

You can click on passive effects, open info on one and then switch back to pet info which will then be displayed as usual. (At least this works for me.)
