Since PVP is dying over here I was running around PVP 4 last night, and I ran into this. All comments about d-class/pvp4/lysterium aside, I was totally amazed. It takes a bit to get me out of safe mode these days
It's pretty awesome, as the little battlegrounds scattered around the game go. While I was running around taking pictures and thinking about how many toxic rig conversations I'd been in I wondered how this awesome little scene had slipped in without me ever seeing it.
Some clarification then, on the pics:
Feedback from the target demographic:
- It got used a couple of times.
- See MA tell ubers how a wave spawn works.
- Grind hussklings >1 hour for no hussk. (video included)
- See ubers tell MA what they think of 'normie' loot.
Seems to be another unrequested, and in the end unwanted, "showcase" sort of content update that's pretty much been rejected by the target players. If anyone has 100 ped TT biogenic gel to carry into pvp4 lately please invite me. I don't think I can fight a husskling alone so I just want to watch
I think it would be very minimal effort (A-S-S-U-M-E) for MA to have this thing spawn oil for a couple of weeks. If they felt that was a success ... ?
Some Pros:
- More than a couple dozen players might see this beautiful arena.
- Event status would likely generate some one-off/tourist decay.
- Might give some old PK enthusiasts something to visit for.
- Many players would (hopefully) see PK globals in chat for the first time (toxic/system loot).
Some cons:
- Honestly most likely to be 'Orthos Major' within a couple of days.
On that note, perhaps the worm spawn could be left live. This would be a lot cheaper than buying a firebird to chase after pirates when you're tired of whoever is camping.
Best case what you have here is a 24/7 hardcore landgrab then. Loot is constant, the need to guard it is continuous, and a determined individual can make a grab for their turn. Not me though
TBF if this place was active I would probably put some PED in the loot pool. I didn't stumble onto this by avoiding toxic.
Worst case, IMO, is an EU "welfare check" paying straight into a couple accounts that already "have it all" for withdrawal. But to do that those guys will have to log into the game, patrol, and take some amount of risk to keep it. Even if the risk is relatively small.
Those pics stir up any thought for you?
