Some of us players like this VU some not so much.We are free to express our judgement and feelings here,it is natural. What is interesting, those who dont like VU explain why, some provides analysis, some use irony and sarcasm. In opposite camp its very much like " good VU, people stop being negative, etc". I would love to see couple posts with arguments, why those people like this VU.
For example:
Its good they are working on textures instead of bugs and economy.New textures will make me hunt more, I dont care about bugs and fact the loot is hard to sell.
Its good we cant drop items anymore because we did have to much fun and game play in general. Now I will grind lots more, nothing will disturb me from spending peds.
Just examples, but I hope u got what I mean and hope to see something, just something instead of "why u are so negative".

  • Compet deeds can now be exchanged for Arkadia Moon deeds through a hand in mission in Celeste Harbour, just seek the Compet Deed Exchange NPC at 29820, 10165

If they can't solve that, I'll probably keep the compet deeds as a reminder of MAs failure to follow their own plans and as my personal warning for MAs future endeavors.

I don't feel any need to justify my failure to embrace your (personal and collective) negativity.

Peace, Miles

"It is now only possible to drop items in your own estates"

Woah woah woah this is something that should've been community-polled before implementing. What players wanted this feature removed? I can't imagine very many? The world just became less interactive, why do this?

One of the things I've always loved doing was hiding small piles of extra ore, oil etc. I would normally hide them somewhere in camp icarus and watch how long it takes for them to be discovered. One day I spent ~10 minutes trying to land on the TOP of the camp icarus building (where the antenna is, above the roof level) from my sleip, without dying from fall damage. I finally made it without dying somehow and I hid a stack of animal eye oil up there. It stayed there for like a week! I am sure the new players who come across hidden items appreciate finding free things (even if it is only some pecs) and it also gives an actual reason for exploring aside from crappy fruits or dung which both aren't worth much and aren't as fun to find because they are generated by the game, not placed there by someone else.

I've found an uzi on top of the camp icarus roof just a week ago... I've found piles of pec way high up in trees that I landed on in my sleip, I've found piles of ammo in Twin Peaks under the MSC, I've found a pixie part once in a swamp under some ferns. I found a pile of 10ped in camp icarus on the chair next to the auctioneer once! And I found 0.60 of animal muscle oil crate JUST yesterday under the Thule sleip (it was hard to click on). THIS WAS FUN. Now there's no reason to explore because it's impossible to place anything.

This feature was not only social (treasure hunts etc) it was a way to be generous to players and circulate good mood/positivity. Please put this feature back. It has been here since Project Entropia... enough classic PE features have already been removed. This is too extreme of a change.

EDIT: If the issue is somebody making infinite accounts and TTing the items from the beginning (like the Explosives Ammo, etc) and dropping the pecs and making another account, can't you just make all the starter equipment (even the ammo) just be non-sellable like the Vivo... that way the issue is pinpointed directly, rather than ruining everybody else's fun.

... MA should add a new Terminal called the "Noob Terminal" or something like that so that people can still give stuff to new players. When the item is "Noob Terminaled" it injects it into the loot pool for them or places it in one of the noob zones...... or maybe just let people drop stuff still...

It's a really creative idea, but it wouldn't be nearly as fun as deliberately hiding something in a sneaky spot to reward a player for exploring. Placing things in difficult spots, or just obscure spots (like "why would anyone ever search here?") is fun because you know that when someone finds it they'll be really shocked, and feel accomplishment, and they'll also be grateful because they will know it was dropped by a player. If the Noob Terminal distributes the gift items into the loot pool for new players, not only is it less fun (no reward for exploring and no fun in waiting for someone to find it), but also the new player isn't even going to know it was a gift from someone else - it just seems like extra loot. So there isn't going to be the same feeling of generosity. Even if the NewbTerminal-distributed items are tagged with a message ("As a bonus, you received a gift item from Blah Blah Blah!"), most new players either wouldn't notice it and/or wouldn't understand what it means and/or wouldn't care - it's still just seems like extra loot.

Manually placed items are different. :( I wouldn't have fun putting it in the terminal... at that point I would just prefer to TT it. Also, this means that "social" players who stand around talking, wandering around, etc more often than hunting/mining, cannot receive gifts anymore in the form of finding hidden items -- only hunters/miners would. :(

(Btw, I just want to say I'm not trying to be antagonistic and attack you, I'm just upset about this feature being removed...)

Was 4 days newbie when our society that just has been joined (adopt A newbie Foundation*) made the weekly Aakas expedition! So as a new member I went earlier by the site and start exploring the places around (there are many ancient ruins all over the place *for some who doesn't visit Aakas dungeon!) I will never forget that Aakas II key (full TT) I found behind a rock :) the guys @ soc, most of them newbies like me, jealous so much about my luck and I made fun of them. A memorable moment for me, also made me thinking "what a great game I was in"!!
What a shame, this great feature are off now and new players can't experience it from now on.

edit: Forgot to mention Memorial Island! SHAME ON YOU THERE @ MA! No knowledge of the history of PE and no respect too (thx Goni for remind me).

What community consultation? this is Mind Ark we are talking about... you know... the company with Great community engagement and the company that listens to their customer/player base? the very same company that goes out of its way to fix the bugs before releasing new content. That one?

Oh wait a minute I am not talking about Mind Ark...…. FML

Sorry continue..

The Fun is GONE!

I've created many dropped platforms for parties, birthdays, holidays, etc. I've had great fun with many players, and hopefully they had fun as well.

Dropping items in EU has been around since the beginning, and this change has caused me to reconsider my time here in EU, which has lasted 12+ years.

Another fail for MA...

-Sad Obie-
:mad::censored::cussing::loco:

Then some people will be making a new avatar every time they hit agi level 15 to loot bonus gifts from "idiots" who "give them free PED" until they have a withdrawal on their main.

Thats a very lame coment.
I am one of the "idiots" giving free stuff to other players, thanks for insulting me!

If I drop things for a hide/seek fun event, I really dont care if it is a L1 noob who find it or L200 UBER, I do this event for the fun of the people that are in the place (f.e. during SSI event, at Icarus or at a shared mob spawn).

Landowners who did treasure hunts at their LAs, surely don´t care aswell what level the player was who found the dropped items.

I know crafters who dropped small stacks of crafting resources to get a bless from lootius, near their crafting terminals.

And we have memorial island, where some people regularly dropped items.

Its just anoying that MA removed an option that was used fairly much for different reasons by many players.
Takes away a lot of fun, and I am sure NOBODY asked to remove this feature. At least I can´t find any thread in whishlist section, that asked to remove droppability of items.

About the drop trades:
those using alts and breaking the rules, surely have some friends to log in their alts to do P2P trades, so removing the drops, solves nothing!

[*]It is no longer possible to use consumables in space when ejected from ship

Fascinating how much power thieves and pirates have on this platform. Bitch and get your way. Wow! Sure says a lot about the game host and who we realy dealing with.

Free to roam, camp and rob, never depo, just steal. Not a Cop in sight and no consiquences for doing wrong to others and causing offence. You may ruin ther experience for others, especially depositing players who lose always. Sometimes fast sometimes gradual.

Brilliant Ballance for space. I suggested an idea to a MA staffer. But wont go there. Futile to even try.

For the record, i dont like it. Specially the "balance" and the "space-Dynamics". Host can do it right. But wont.

For the Non-thieves and honest frequent depositing members. The question here, that should be posed is; " Why does a non-frequent depositing frusdtrated common thief, carry so much power, as opposed to frequent high depositing gamers, who are against wrong-doings?" and "What does it say about a host that goes far out of its way, to protect and satisfy the needs of common thieves, above the rest?"

you make a lot of assumptions... I can bet I have deposited more in one transaction than you have in your entire tiny insignificant career in this game STFU noob learn the rules of the game then work with them...

PS: their "fix" isn't a fix at all and still can be exploited. And I record all my pirating sessions be sure I will report everyone of you that do it to me.

and a nice Neg rep from the complainant...

My god....so many people crying about that update with pills in space. I'm just bummed I never got a chance to creature control capsule a bot after explosion and kill their ship with it. What did you think was going to happen though? Evey was making a post or more a day about the medistim. While cool, clearly a type of exploit.

We get it, some people are just too dumb to travel with peds in space safe. Space is lootable PVP, this is NO secret. These people are taking your money, yea, but, well....that's the game in space. Sorry but until the game itself changes space, you're going to have to accept the mechanics of the game you chose to play.

Space Police with superior firepower, and aprehension/capture abillity. That would be a honest balance. And make the pirates life, not so easy in a decent Entropia way. Platform is perfect for it. base, badge. SOC, Forum,( to lodge crime reports and close cases, etc.), and Full MA aproved Code of Virtual LAW statutes. patrols, Uniform, etc. Ye "Entopia Police Service" E.P.S.

Pucker-factor for pirates. Escort for merhant haulers. Trash collection. Cleanup-Crew. Pissed-off janitor. Cry about IT!!!

No one is stopping you from being that police, besides you and the skills that get you killed constantly by the ones you want to try to beat.

Ye, I voiced my own demand in a ongoing negotiation. I will do so on one condition. With the same support, the entire pirate implimentation receives, is also granted to me. Soon as I get the go-ahead, from the person I am talking with, then I shall. One hand washes the other hand. I have also pledged my own ingame assets to this very end.

Morover, I should ad, that many have aproached me via private messages, in support of this very idea and many of those, also wishing to join up. I will just leave this here. I do not believe I am personally the right person to be running this, but I do know whom I would Nominate to take that seat. And as a silent parthner support him in the Police Officer Commanding position fully. My first choice is General David Robert Westmoreland. That being said, I doubt he would undo TD, unless this is big enough, and this is big. Neither has he been informed. Now he is.

Is it still possible to pop the pills while sitting inside the vehicle? Usually do the skill & auto loot pills while flying to my hunting spot.

If it's still possible then you just gotta time it right

Several years ago they put a minimum TT value on dropped items, for performance reasons. This is a different issue. The ability to drop items facilitates money-laundering and the fencing of scammed items via unregistered transactions. Platform security and integrity are vital to the future of EU, so even if it spoils our fun (I've both left and found hidden items) it should be reassuring to every honest avatar.

The anti-pirate pill-popping was so obviously an exploit, plain and simple. You may not like lootable PVP space, but that won't change it being a core platform principle.

Peace, Miles

Aint got no problem with that. Just , "they' could BALANCE the Pirate implimentation out with a Police force. Space is vast and mostly PVP. That alone justifies it in a RCE.

Can someone please confirm if the medi-stim pills work in planet-side PVP ?

If the answer is yes... then I totally fail to see why in space it is called an exploit.
Pirates and others constantly use the phrase 'it is pvp get over it'
Well if the pills are operational in planet pvp...then it is a game mechanic not an exploit...get over it.

If not usable in planet pvp, then I totally see the problem.

Oh and before you all start shouting at me, I have never used a medi-stim, let alone used it in space, so I have no axe to grind here, just a genuine curiosity as to why this is being called an exploit.

On land you don't automatically die to the system after a few seconds. That's the big diff. Although popping a pill then logging out is similar.

I don't see why anyone would mind this. Just to be clear, are we talking about buying something from someone, drops it, logs out and picks it up with another ava and sells it for higher? Of course this is deception but let's think about this:

Why should I actually mind this? It doesn't affect me. I agree that it's deception as I mentioned, but firstly this means someone is spending hours to make probably 0.04 USD, secondly I, as a player, still must agree to all avatar trades on the two confirmation boxes during a trade. I'm 100% safe. If I don't like somebody's price, and I think they're just going to sell it back at a higher price, then I don't click Accept (I actually personally do not even haggle, I either take someone's price as-is, or not, and I do the same when I sell something, too). So the fact that someone is using 2 ava's to get a .01% profit doesn't actually affect me. I would imagine it doesn't effect MA either because any of their "earnings" would be from other players. (If this is not what is meant by laundering then please correct me.)

I would imagine that it would still be possible to do the exact same thing (trade items to a different ava) by having a friend log in to the other ava... so the problem is not solved anyway. (What's next, remove ava trades completely because some people are meanies?)

Also aren't there people who have multiple family members but share a computer? Those people might have actually dropped items on the ground to trade as well.

Maybe my most important point, I'll also add that after you've played for a little bit, you can generally identify "re-sellers" pretty easily based on their trade messages and their prices. After I took a long break, I got "scammed" out of all my animal skins/leathers. Somebody kept persisting and convinced me they weren't worth more than 101% total and convinced me to sell them all to him for that price. I finally agreed. UNDOUBTEDLY he re-sold them to someone else for a profit (possibly on a different ava). Did that feel bad for me? Sure. But it was my fault. I agreed to the trade even when I felt it wasn't a good deal. It was a good lesson learned and it never happened again, and I quickly learned to spot re-sellers. This was my only "bad" experience with re-sellers and I've had countless "good" experiences with finding and hiding items.

Didnt first announcement say calypso?

[h=2]ComPet Announcement[/h]Late in 2017, MindArk performed a major overhaul and update to ComPet with the goal of improving conversion and retention of new players. After this overhaul was implemented and refined, a comprehensive marketing campaign was initiated early in 2018. Analysis of that marketing campaign and the resulting conversion rates indicated that the current model was not sustainable. The marketing analysis was conducted by a leading mobile marketing firm.

As such, the MindArk Board of Directors has decided to suspend any further development or marketing of ComPet, and is exploring options for potential development and/or publishing partnerships with established mobile game organizations.

In order to minimize the impact of the decision to suspend development of ComPet, MindArk is offering ComPet Deed holders the ability to exchange ComPet Deeds for Arkadia Moon Deeds at a ratio of five ComPet Deeds for two Arkadia Moon Deed. The upcoming release will place two different NPC:s on Planet Calypso which will handle the transfer, one in Port Atlantis Mall Teleporter and one in Twin Peaks. The NPC:s will be available until December.

Best regards,
Henrik Nel

Mindark will probably never tell us a reason, they never do.

While it's great that you can only think of innocent ways or harmless uses for this, others are more devious. Even though you don't (and shouldn't) spend too much of your logged in time worrying about crime in the RCE, that doesn't mean it's not an issue.

I will miss this feature tremendously. I travel around a lot and hardly a week of active play goes by that I don't find some item left by a player. I add to them more often than I take them, but I did find some items when I was new and remember the excitement. When a new player asks me about an item they found I encourage them to enjoy the gift, and replace it when they have 'extra items' in the game.

There are families and other groups of players who use drop trades frequently as well.

In any case it's well known that this technique facilitates ongoing criminal activity. It encourages certain people to continue, and it enables newer players to get started. If this is the reason, it's understandable.

I started a thread for pics, but it's mostly turned into discussion as well. This seemingly simple decision has drawn a lot of upset from the community already. It would be nice if MA would share their reasoning on this one.

You do realize we can build one huge mountain of open case files dont you. And such a Police force would have to have the clearance to work very closelly with Mindark-Staff-support department on some cases. ( Wel lonly top-brass.) Morover this could aleaviate a lot of workload for MA, as most cases labeled under VU-Crime, be correctlly compartimentalizes, handled and resolved. A official Mindark Police forum would also have a wall-off-shame, like millitary special forces do. Purelly for convicted and repeat offenders. Bulletin board, etc.

You, of all peops know the size of this monumental implimentation. Man im thinking E.P.S terminals on all planets too, to lodge complaints or crimes. Template to report a incident. When submitted support dept is immedieatelly also allerted. Cops always work in twos. Patrols, following leads and queastioning peops. Partners can also choose which cases they want to take from terminal. Only already trained police officers clock in for duty and have access ofc. Blue light abillity and sirens on vehicles too including alerts. Submitting case rerport after each duty-run. Knowing and having had training how to formulate reports.

The whole idea off this can make imagination go wild. But awesome too. You played Cops & Robbers as a kid right? Well no contest without the "cop" dontya think? Kinda defeats the purpose having overpowered pirates all over the place roaming who to pounce. Still a game and a serious RCE. People who play arent al lexclusivelly inclined for a limited career path. And crime-fighting is actually a vocation and a honorable one at that. A vital bridge between the powers that be and the man on the street. Long arm of the Law, to maintain Law & Order. Gather evidence and witnesses. Compiling cases and filing them complete to Mindark for review by the Board of judges. Impartial if possible.
