Cleetus' Mining Log Version 2.0

Hello everyone,

I've decided to start tracking my returns in a new mining log. Lately my play has been all over the place and I think I need to refocus my efforts. Tracking TT return only.

Equipment: TerraMaster 3 Gold Rush
Enhancers: Depth I, II, III, IV
Amp: Level 5
Type: Ore/Enmat

Total Spent: 36593.35

Total Profit/Loss: -2757.26

As far as I can see your total return (92,46%) is normal.
The 5% you are loosing is because of the costs MU's and taxes since normal return should be around 96-97%

Stop indoor mining (taxes), stop LA mining (taxes), stop using depth enh and downgrade on amp or do not use any at all. (I know most think that is boring but that is the only way to regain your peds again)
Once you use amps your HR is going down and the risc factor is going up , like crafting on condition.

Only in an area with a HR over 33% you will make profit then with amps.
And yes Shinook is very good IF you hit some nice ores, otherwise it's all belkar.

I know how much you are down in total and you never gonna get that back like this and you know I do not want you to leave the game lol. Mining changed hard since we both where born here 15 years ago :p

I will switch to unamped after I finish this run at Shinook; ended up doing a bit but got tired so I will finish after work. Thanks for advice, the game is definitely much different and I can’t seem to grasp it.
 
Shinook is only good for enm, IMO. Other than that, listen to everything Leeloo says, she knows what she's talking about.

I think you don't use correctly the potential of your finder. No idea on the break rate of depth enhancers nowadays, but i am pretty sure you should hunt for those 200%+ resources instead of paying taxes for iron and caldorite (which you can find with f211 or something). Other than that, gl with your quest.

Excluding ultra-rare (Rugaritz, Dunkel, Tridenite and the like) there are not many 200%+ resources available anymore. Dianthus and Devil's Tail are not worth chasing at current markups, ores like Xeremite and Vesperdite require extraodinary depth and/or luck, Ignisium and such have crashed heavily. Even if you find these high markup resources the average markup of those servers will likely be poor (ex: Redulite servers).

IMO your safest bet as a miner right now is to find an area yielding at least 112%-118% average markup and focus on profitting via increasing your cycle speed while minimizing costs (unlimited amplifiers, adjusted or improved excavator, UL finder with high base depth or pre-amped (L), etc) - also don't be afraid to hold on to "TT trash" resources until their markups appreciate.

With loot 2.0 it appears TT returns have become quite stable for miners. So it comes down to your speed and your cost efficiency. I'm not saying you shouldn't chase markup, but outside of lootable PvP there does not seem to be much worth chasing. (Disclaimer: I've only been back to the game for a few days :laugh:)
