Very interesting. Thx for your data! Comparing your tt return (90.26%) with your old data (in old good times 91.7%); the differences are so little. Then, the only problem to our economy is to find MU.

True, and back then was purely lvl 5 amps with a higher MU + MU on finder; still allowed an overall profit. Now I can't seem to pan out from amping so I've decided to take some advice and unamp mine for a while to claw back. Also was much lower prosp/survey level. Times have changed

The MU is still out there, but you have to chase it a bit. With 90% TT returns like you're getting (normal for me too), you need to target at least 111% MU to break even unamped. Going level 5 amps at 103.5% MU, and you need to target >115% average find MU. It's doable, but there are a lot of areas I used to mine in my earlier years that just don't quite cut it anymore MU-wise.

This how i see it my self. If u add extra fee like tax, AH, MU on tools, travel costs it can be hard to break even not alone profit. Luckly for me my shop helps alot no AH fees. Low mu stuff sells alot better, but its more of by-product of the good mu stuff i get.

The WWW as I call it is most important with mining :)

Where - What - When

So first find a spot that gives a good MU, never go for enm/ore at the same time neither
The good spot should contain some nice mu's at average depths
Go mine there during the week and keep a very close eye on you're HR to see if some 1 has been mining there shortly before you, or economics are not optimal, if HR is bad, leave and come back later, if HR is ok (over 35-40% average) keep mining

EDIT : when just counting TT, with amp 5 its 3 ped/drop (1 ped probes + 2 ped amp) so you need a "small" every 3 drops (HR 33%), if you're getting less claims or smaller, you start loosing. Do not hope for a swirl, cause they are becoming very rare :p

That 74 ped Ares Head must have helped out a bit there.

Going to switch it up a bit and focus specifically on higher MU and not always double drops. Still going to amp for a bit and see how it goes. :ahh:

I've had really rough results with double dropping and all that, I don't find it very effective anymore unless you at least move a decent bit of the radius...many recommend never double dropping at all.

So I frequently get very very rough results with indoor mining, I'd avoid it if you're trying to have a good stable return because all of these areas also have tax, in addition to extreme volatility.

Indeed, very high risk mining + taxes = loosing even more if not very lucky. It's more gambling than mining
