In "Ready Player One" we are introduced to a "gameworld", where you can use in-world currency for all your entertainment needs. While all is not known about its economy, you can buy credits with real world cash or earn credits ingame by playing or working. There is also the possibility to use these credits for real world items.

Entropia are one of (very) few games that combine entertainment and real cash economy. In my opinion it still have a first-mover advantage in the genre.

In light of the gameworld in "Ready Player One", how do you see the future for this genre in general, and how should Entropia use its advantage to stay in front and continue to inspire players, opportunists and dreamers in the future?

The similarities between some of the elements in Entropia Universe and Ready Player One are indeed uncanny. I was actually quite disappointed that Ernest Cline did not mention Entropia somewhere in the book; it appears that Entropia Universe certainly could have been at least a partial inspiration for RPO.

Entropia Universe is at the frontier of the immersive virtual universe genre, no doubt. There are things that can of course be expanded and improved, but we have the foundation in place to continue evolving into something truly amazing. A complete Virtual Universe where you can be anything you want and do whatever you want. Mindark’s 15 years of experience in managing the Real Cash Economy and its commitment to the latest available technology means that Entropia and the Oasis could in theory become increasingly similar.
