Did you ever have the feeling that the mob you were shooting was going to global and it did?
Did you ever knew out of the blue that a certain mob would uber at a certain time and it did?
Some may call it coincidence; some may call it intuition, or being in the zone. Being attuned to Entropia.

I had experiences like this in the past and while I found them quite interesting,
I only thought about being able repeat them to make more ped.
At the time I searched for a certain pattern, a certain way to break the system. It was quite a fun challenge.
Alas it didn't yield the results I was hoping for.
It yielded some results but every theory I tested remained inconclusive.

As the years went by RL got my attention and I started playing less and less.
But every now and then I had dreams about entropia. About hunting Hogglo, Caperon and other creatures.
In those dreams I felt exited, a dreamlike feeling which borders on the surreal.

So, I set the goal to reach that dream and hunt Hogglo, Aurli and Caperon and have some fun and excitement.
But more than just playing and having fun, I want to learn to tap into that strange phenomenon described above.
Not to make money from the game, but to learn something about the nature of this reality.

So this Diary will basically be a combination of a loot log and observations of myself playing.
It also will have some achievements and other fun things. It will be very Dao in nature I guess.

One fear I have is that the game is rigged nowadays.
Rigged in the sense that there is a personal loot pool or loot cap or other balancing system
that makes that no matter how lucky one is, one can not outperform/out-luck a certain limit.

This, although it is a very ease and cheesy tool to make sure no-one beats the system and makes money;
is very detrimental to the experiments that I am going to perform.
And While MA stated there is no personal lootpool,
I have come across circumstantial evidence the points in this direction.
But let us not discard things too soon.

before the hunt:

I am doing a 30ped run with [Starkhov LPR-3, CDF Edition (L)]
and a [ArMatrix B-Amplifier 6P (L)] at 10.26ped tt
[Vivo S10] at 2.05ped

To be honest I am in a period of my life looking for a new job.
The first time I was looking for a job I got an insane 4k loot (on a 100hp mob)
an hour before the company I ended up working for four years called me for an interview.

It reminds me how life and game seem to be intertwined; at least for me
I will be West of Zeus hunting cornundacauda, if anyone want to pop in and say hi :)

result:

ammo: 30
amp: 0.47
fap: 0.10
total spend: 30.57

TT return: 35.30

Profit +4.73
Return %: 115.47

Bearing in mind that I miss a tiny bit in dmg to max my gun and my looter profession is really low;
this run seems to be completely saved by one 10ped loot and a couple of smaller loots.
16.2ped of the return consisted out of shrapnel.

On a more alchemical level; loot seemed average and I had trouble zoning in.
It feels like being clumsy.

Ahh, it is sunny outside and winter has already been too long in the Midwest.
I think I'm going to enjoy some real life.

Yeah. Afraid it is. In the sense that you can never get 100% TT return over longterm anymore. You used to be able to pre loot 2.0 if you had high dpp weapon/rings/scopes etc. But nope, not anymore.

All you can do is try to hunt with the best effiency weapon you can have and the best dpp and the dps suited to the mob you're killing as well as minimizing healing during kill to give you the best optimal loot (more MU stuff) that will eventually boost up your return closer to 100%+ (longterm).

What you are describing is Cartesian science; and indeed, the laws of Statistics apply so we should rightfully assume that 99.99% of the cases tt profit long run is improbable.
Though is it impossible is the question. To answer that question one can not use a mechanical world view.
As a problem cannot be solved on the level it has been created, this experiment is one I try to solve in a different aspect of reality. A reality not understood in the current Zeitgeist.

The whole experiment is a game within a game; or rather a form of target practice in the game that is EU.
I could use dice or go to a casino but there is something that is (or at least was) more organic about the dynamics of Entropia. That is the thing I tune into.
Even the inventor of the loot-system might not have considered this and just had a brilliant idea about how to create the system for PE. I believe it is (or at least was) special in ways I cannot put into rational thoughts, let alone words.

My mood is slightly off. There is a lot going on IRL and I feel like I'm in a transient phase.
I consider hunting my version of a fishing trip. Just cast the line and emerge myself in the activity and let my subconscious mind flow.
Back to Fort Zeus and Cornundacauda.
