Why doesn't MA have competition?

Sadly I really like the various systems (space, hunting, estates, shops, etc.) and the complexity they have in EU (minus the RCE). I haven't found anything like this on other MMOs without the RCE (Project Ion was under my radar before, but I guess it flopped). I'd actually jump to any MMO that have the exact same systems, complexity, and sci-fi theme as EU without the RCE. I know I'm probably a minority here.

Little late, but Project Ion is still going stronk; latest update but a few days ago.

Post an official audit on their company so we can all see how stronk they are.

I thought I remembered looking into Project Ion about a year ago because I saw talk about it in the forums from like 10 years ago and when I looked up the game, it had been discontinued and out of development for a very long time without any news as to why or what had happened leading to a halt in progress and why the game isn't functioning anymore.
I guess I might be wrong, interesting that there was a... Update? a week ago.

I don't like these mimic games though, makes me want to focus on making my game more...

You might be thinking of AfterWorld and not Project Ion. AfterWorld went from Alpha to Survival and folded within a year after. Project Ion's alive and kicking.

I agree with it...
people keep posting and reffer to "funding projects" - alpha testing shit and.... experiments by individuals or small team of people, claimed that these are real RCE active games! That's BS.

If I were the devs, I wouldn't even touch their IPs with 10-foot pole.

I knew he couldn't provide one and wanted to point out that his words aren't enough to recommend such game, besides that everyone who recommend alternatives for Entropia Universe as successfull RCE happens to be EU players who failed to improve in EU, lost big, got dissapointed by their own expectation or Mindark stole their toy etc.
Crying out loud with big tears in the eyes started to google for alternatives trying to prove Mindark will fall one day.

Eventually they did.Hunting kerberos in your first 3 weeks playing the game is completely natural.Hunting kerberos after playing the game for 6 years and in the same time act as a experienced hunter giving advises to new players is one of the most destructive behavior a player can do.
What I forgot to say is that most of them hang around on the other forum.

since when do they have a gambling licence ?
Not to mention, that if they really had, the return rate would be way lower the those 90%
 
Many threads here and did not read them all but, I will make a short comment. Game development is very expensive and I am fairly certain a company that wants to do a new RCE game will have to have a lot of upfront cash. I doubt that many would want to take the chance when there is already one out there. IMO.
