Years ago, near Sacramento California, an Indian tribe opened one of the 1st Indian casinos in that part of the state. All the gamblers were elated! They would no longer have to drive hundreds of miles to gamble!
The casino sent out millions of flyers to everyone in the Northern part of the state, telling them how beautiful their casino was - that the returns on the gamblers money would be (at least) 95% - that the casino would have weekly events and give away millions of dollars of "stuff".
Soon, it was learned that all the flash and promises were nothing more than loud noises and pretty pictures. The machines were wound tighter than MA's sphincter and barely 5% of the gamblers even broke even. The players started to grumble and complain.
So what happened is this: NOTHING.
The casino knew that people would just continue to throw their money at them, hoping and praying that "they'd hit the big one someday". And the casino was right.
No matter how badly the casino screwed up their events, no matter how much the casino charged for food, gas, smokes, people would STILL come there.
And no matter how bad the odds were for the players, the casino knew that they really had no need to fix or change anything.
Because the players were hooked and would keep stuffing their $$$ into the slot machines.
The squeaky wheel doesn't always get the grease. In the case of MA, the squeaky wheel gets a nod and a wink, and instead of fixing the creak in the wheels, they'll just kick the dog.
WOOF WOOF.
