The changes are from newest to old. It seems odd somehow, lots of trying. You either know it or not imo. Is this correct?

(ps, sorry for posting ip. It is from one public place to another one. If anyone objects ill remove it)

someone is trying to mess with the market price of these items by changing the stats. Its easy for the admin in this forum to find out who ts is becasue the ip logged at wiki probably matches someone on this forum.

That potential has always been my primary cause of concern over the data in wiki. I know this has been said by everyone before, but it really would be great if more of the information could be verified by MA, to avoid possible abuse.

Except that Mindark specifically stands by letting people figure things out on their own. That is why there are decay ranges and such. It has been said in numerous other things, and Mindark would obviously refuse an extra task.

I don't understand why all changes immediately post on wiki, why is there not a sort of vote system or something so that at least x number of users have to agree on the stat before it is updated.

I know it goes against the whole wiki thing, but I think edit's should be locked down to only a few key members.

Anyone with information should send an update request (a new form on the site) where one of the key members can pick it up and deal with it.

Only people who include in-game name for reverse communication to check up data should be able to successfully submit the data.

That's just my opinion.

The best way IMO...

Maybe MB/711 could let us have a Wiki section on the forum where people can make a post, or a thread, about a particualr Item they wish to change or update, or even add.

Witte, interesting find. Now let's see who will put up for sale an i2870 and an MK5me.

Thanks,
BB

Only thing we can tell from here is that its someone in Sweden who uses SkyCom's internet.

Ya.. I agree, there should be some sort of voting system for changes.

Yeh an idea was to close at least the weapon chart, and maybe some more charts. Things like loots can stay open access. But the site developer quit EU some time now. I have been trying to get admin access to the webpage, to solve some bugs, but there were some security problems with that. And I am affraid I will be very busy in the comming time, so I am not sure I will be able to find time for it.

for now ill just revert all changes and ban that IP.

I spoke to Minder (admin and founder of the site) on telephone about this about a week ago. I think he was considering locking the edit function to just a few. Since he doesn't play anymore he kind of gave up the wiki. He has lots of things to do these days. :)

Would be a good idea to find someone who can take on the site.

Otherwise it might be time to find a new solution. In much the same guise.

I know someone here on EF has done some programming for the site, Minder said that he was going to speak to that guy some time soon. As I said before, he has alot to do these days :)

Yeh that was me, I already spoke with minder about it ;). But I am pretty busy too atm :S. But I will at least try to arrange access to the FTP so i can fix some minor bugs.

Wouldn't it be better if the editing function was locked to the registered members on the Wikicharts? That would at least allow us to see the name of the person who changed the stats.

I know that some desperate people would just register a member under a different name, but at least that would be better than the current system. I mean, one registered member did change the stats of an item. Dreicc, who changed the attacks / min from 67 to 60 on the Imp M2870, I wonder why...

Edit: Damn, some of those changes came from my IP, I guess I'd better talk to my brother...

I definitely think that Minder should make some changes to how the webpage works though, if he has the time for it. What AkiranBlade said sounds great, that a couple of key members who has a lot of time on their hands would have to accept the changes before they were made. I guess that could be something that could be made in the future, but I don't think it'd be that hard to disable unregistered members to change the stats of the items for now. I'm not sure how the webpage is built up though.

Sorry to off-topic-ish, (damn I say that too much) but who, may I ask Is, your brother?

Well, he's more or less a noob who's been running around ingame from time to time. He registered an account about 1½ - 2 years ago I think, but he hasn't been skilling that much, or playing that much at all, the main part of the skilling was done back when the Tantardions didn't attack you, so I think he has around 50 agility or so, his name is Larzon.

I'm sorry that some of the stats got messed up a bit though, but this just shows how much we could need an upgraded system, a somewhat more safe and protected one. Because this isn't the first time the stats have been changed, and will surely not be the last one unless PEWikicharts recieves some kinds of administrators or such.

A swedish person, someone from Umeå. And on a city net that who's costumers I can look up at work. Will be a piece of cake to find out who it is if there shows up trouble.

Edit. I forgot, I'm gonna need a police report to be authorized to do it, so I can't :(

I already answered that question, read up a bit...

Well, your post wasn't there when I hit the "reply" button. It took me a few minutes to write my post since I was looking up the IP meanwhile.
