Ooo I totally want in to this profession, :yay: although i haven't gotten the PEDs for a chair - yet! - mostly because of the Fashion Design skill which I wanna do sooo badly (was my major way back in college)! Hope it allows some measure of individual creativity, I have some really good ideas (IMHO)! Meanwhile I've been skilling in tailoring and coloring - and hunting 'til I complete my apprenticeship lol -- 400 rifle to go!:wtg:

:D no creativity whatsoever - its just another skill you gain whilst cutting and doing surgery - doesnt do anythnig special at all:(
 
I am interested in starting this.. What should I be thinking as a starting investment (how much is the chair, other equipment and a few thousand hair gel & spray)?

Also, how was your holiday PINKY? :)

hair chair about 1-2K seems very rare in auction now...

hair tool 200-500

apartment 200-300

interior deco..depends.. i spent 300-400 on mine

gel/spray...LOL...i lost count...this is the killer! skilling it is madness and no HOFs or Globals..... its just i have invested too much in this to pull out now.. so the only way is forward... lol...but about 1K of gelwill be about 200 peds..but beleive me, u will eat thru 1K easily in 1 week of skilling lol!

What is the market value for hair gel? TT+%?

I have unlocked my newest hairstyle https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=568173#post568173 and thus jumped up to the next pricing scale.

Therefore i will now price my basic cuts at 12 peds which is same as Pinky's and leave my earlier 10 ped pricing for new stylists to enter the market as advised by Pinky earlier in this thread.

Comon Iset wheres the salon?? U need help?

Gratz rooney! thats a major turning point getting long hair!!! out of curiosity, would you mind posting what your skill levels were, as its change from when I did it to lower levels now, so it might help a few people aiming for it.


obviously, if you want to keep it quiet, thats ok too ;)
 
Unlocked Long hair (9th unlock) at 1450 Hair skills

about 200-250 lvls each unlock..after last VU update.

Due to some personal RL issues, I havn't been able to be on much :( , but I would like to take this time to invite you all (avatars involved with the guild) to a Christmas party at my apartment this coming Friday. It will start at 23:00 MA time, and my apartment is at the Treasure Island City, Gold building, room 8C.

Nothing fancy, just a chance for us to get together and meet those we have not yet, do some networking, and have champagne sprayed all over them! :yay:

Hello fellow Re-stylers

I already had the idea of starting as a hair desigener for a couple of weeks and I finally bought me the chair and the toolkit.

I already did some skilling and atm my skills are

Hair Stylist - 343
Plastic surgery - 93
Genetics - 60
Dexterity - 1050

I already read some of the suggestions here concerning skilling and how much you ask for the services we offer. My idea is to make this profitable and I know it will be hard to catch up people like Pinky and other high-end Beauty Specialists. Though Ill do everything to become a respected hairdesigner and maybe Body and Face in the future as well.

My Shop is located in Genisis ( C block ) which was the best location since if noobs don't have the TP its only 5 minutes walking to Genisis. My prices are 10 ped and sometimes I make discounts to attract more people like now I'm only asking 7.5 as a X-mass promotion.

The only thing that bothers me atm is that I lose a lot of customers because I can't color hair yet :( I'm trying to skill as much as possible but my funds are limited since I decided to stop depositing. So anyone knows around which lvl He/She unlocked hair coloring ??? And how much Hair color sets are needed for a certain Succes rate ? That would be a great help.

Further more since the hollidays are coming I won't got much time but when I got more time again I'm gonna try to set up big commercials etc.

Thnx for your time and I hope I can work myself up and will be respected by the EU community and this nice guild

Hi Zilly, welcome to the club :0)

For me it was unlocked around 1000 - but MA changed the skill levels since I unlocked it, so maybe Rooney will have a better idea than me...
 
1K for me unlocked haircoloring...

GL skilling lol!!! :wtg: believe me...get some theraphy for those fingers!! ;P

I guess my goal will be to reach 1k then, only around 600+ skills to go then :)

But I'm still stuck with the question how many hair color sets you need to get an average Succes Rate, for example if I change someones hairstyle I use 10-15 Hairgel but how much would that be for Hair coloring ???

As I recently started I can give you an idea

Appartement Close to a TP 250-... ped (Depends on the size of it)
Hair Stylist Chair 900-1000 ped
Hair Stylist Toolkit +50 ( Not sure, the one I'm using is from a friend :D )

Since I'm only familiar with Hairstylist stuff I can't help you further with the Body and Face Sets.

Keep in mind that these number don't include the money you invest in skilling, in the beginning you'll need to invest a lot to gain some decent skills but when you have those you can really start making a bit of money.

Totally depends on what the starting colour is and what the finished colour is. I would say between 3 and 10
but on a bad day, can be more

Sorry, havent updated here recently -

Unlock 15 = 2969 Hair Skills

Unlock 16 = 3173 Hair Skills

Unlock 17 = 3390 Hair Skills


As you can see between 15 and 16 was only 204 levels, but 16 to 17 was 217. Not sure why it required a bigger jump in levels, but would assume its down to another skill that didnt gain as quick this time round, like plastic surgury or something...


Rumour has it that Beauty sense unlocks at prof standing of 20. I am currently as 19.75 so will let you know soon ;)

The rumour was true -

These are my skills at unlock - its was the second i hit level Pro Standing of 20 in Hair stylist.​

Would some one update wiki for me to reflect unlocked at pro standing of 20 as wiki does not like me, and this info does not currently exist on there ;)

I've been a little bored recently, and I think it's about time I started to do something which may become productive.

so, I thought, maybe I should do hair styling or plastic surgury. obviously, I'm probably best to just start off in one. but, of this, I have no idea. I assume that it makes no difference, but I could be wrong.

anyways, would anyone be willing to help me out? I think I might be able to provide some useful information as I'm doing my training.

also, would anyone know where I could obtain the chairs, et cetera? I'd really hate to (in fact, won't) pay some reseller's inflated price. this is something I will use.
 
Well, I just got lucky the other day.
I got the chair and scissors for 1601 total.
So I'll be skilling for a while before I open
"The Running with Scissors Barber Shop" :yay:

The prices for the face chair and body sculpting unit
have been nuts when I've even seen them in auction.
(I think there's a body sculpting unit in auction for 6000 ped now.)

Also, you will gain skill in plastic surgery from cutting hair.
I guess from cliping ears by accident :>

I started with just hair, but i think for skilling purposes its easier to start with all three (if you can afford it!)

The chairs are stupid prices atm... I am still using Skams face chair as a decent price one still hasnt come up ;(
