Cant help thinking that this is a player that played for a while and just made a new avatar to get some free things.
The really new players dont ask for free things at once, they always have a hard time finding out controls and how to chat. Im not saying that all new players never beg but, the real new players dont beg until they see how hard sweating is.
 
Best one I've ever heard was some noob screaming at PA:

"I NEED TO FIND THE DEPOSIT"

"PLEASE TELL ME HOW GO GET TO THE DEPOSIT"

Last week I was short of money (I'm almost every day short of money ...). I thought it would be a nice thing to go to the swamp camp to heal the newbies with my awesome fap-5. After a while a newbie requisted a private chat with me:
newbie: "Hello"
me: "Hello"
newbie: "You have healed me two times"
me: "Your welcome"
newbie: "You must be very rich! It must cost you a lot!"

ahh :cool: :laugh: :cool:
 
When I arrived the first day I was walking round PA and saw the globals come up one after the other... Then I saw this:

Someone researched a robot spacecraft and found something worth 50 PED's.
I was like WTF I just came out of one a few minutes ago..... So I ran back and climbed into every spacecraft I can find.... After a few minutes I realized: "Maybe its not this type of spaceships...."

LOL I know I was really stupid.....

I hate to say this but I did the same......


as well as that when I first joined I kept looking at the general messages popping up and the amount of people FINDING stuff I thought was amazing... so for a week I just ran around looking for stuff on the ground...lol

needless to say I only ended up with about 60 dung...... :laugh:

Oh and when I lent a ModMerc once, I saved a noob at fort fury. He was thankful, but asked if I didnt have a "bigger gun". I said the one I was holding was one of the best ingame. He didnt belive me, because he had seen a cannon. :scratch2:

Actually I did... At the time an Adj fap was around 20k, and I suggested that he invested in one.
But soon after that, he has away for a longer period, so he never got around to investing it in anything.

Ofc putting most of your money in one item is a gamble, but looking back, my advice was really good.

In my early days.. when I had read that message few times I finally decided to go search those spaceships. I studied carefully Eudoria map I was able to dig out from EF, forum of which depths of knowledge most ppl were unaware. But I knew now! And I managed to visit Spacecraft north of Twin. Obviously someone had just cleared the area for me and my jester to walk in. But I coudn't figure how in the heck I would climb up to the craft.

Later on I tried very hard to get to the spacecraft W of Troy, and was so very killed so many times. :ahh: :laugh:

In my first few days I remember hearing someone in Argus asking if anyone wanted to go to Fort Zeus to fight some mobs. I had a picture in my head of some kind of human uprising/pvp event, took me a few more days to work out what they actually meant.
 
I just love when you worm up the tp chip in PA. Always alot of people standing :tele::eek::drool::eek: and asking how did you do that?

They are just the cutest thing in the game.

Aaah yea, and they run after you as you TP away, and when you disappear they turn around going :confused:

I remember my mentor running me to Argus TP. He said it would be a good place for me to skill.

So later I PM'd him to ask where the mobs he mentioned were, because all i could find were snables and exas. So he told me to run north to the Corn Fields.

Yep, you guessed it...I ran around for ages looking for a cornfield :laugh: :ahh:

Ah - what a Lovely thread.

I so nearly did so much of what many of you have confessed to. I too tried looking into spaceships and opening boxes. My husband kept running away from my brother when he was healing us because he thought it must be costing him lots and lots of money.


The best I had was a noob at PA. There was too much chat in the window so I mentioned that I would start a private chat so we could talk better. He thought I had some cool microphone attached and we would actually chat and he would hear me :)

The other - "you are so Uber!" - I was with a friend leading some people to Billy's and CP. No armour killing Daik youngs. I laughed but was touched by the sentiment. I guess to them I did look invincible :laugh:
 
HAAH reminds me of one n00b I "found" on a good day in PA LONG time ago - it was when we had the school and I was out with some of the charity's ..

we chatted a little about his experiences in game so far (a couple of hours). He asked good questions about what to start with etc. and after 10 min. I decided to give him some pixies .. and opened the trade window WHICH of course he happened to not click at and also closed down a couple of times.

Eventually I succeeded giving him the pixie harness, a mask and some gloves (i believe) and he was like "WOOW... WOw.. thanks WOW.... " ... I was like "yeah .. it aint much but .." "WOOW WOWOWOW .... thanks thanks.."....WOW....

well it ended up with me loving this little n00b for his wow'ing that I gave him an axe too .. but then he walked after me all the time - I actually started to believe I had an orange pet - and chatted untill I had to tell him I was busy for now and tp'ed away. But yeah .. CUTTEEEEE

The moral is; Giving a little sometimes means so much!
 
Heh... I remember this happening a few times in the 'old' days at Camp Phoenix:

I would try to sell my nearly empty Fap-5 for tt value, and go buy a full TT one, to help the newbies a bit. (Never liked seeing people selling low-tt fap-5 for tt+1 and such)

So I'd said: "Cheap medic-kit (fap-5) sold for TT value"
A newbie would eventually want it, sometimes for sweat... But sometimes they would say: "Hey it's BROKEN, you SCAMMER!". :D

Happened more than once. And there wasn't even (L) items in those days. :)

That reminds me of my first day - I was flown to CND and given a tour including the Despelators but was told not to go too close. Someone at the other end of the radar must have been mining cos that was the first time I saw the ground shake. Course, I assumed it was when the Despelators moved that the ground shook.

Next day I went into what was, back then, a newbie dome (This was about a year ago) and was horrified when the ground started shaking again...I ran out thinking I'd accidently wandered into Despelator territory again.

Funny thread. I remember when I started, my mentor told me to get a Jester D1 (no opalo back then) and that the common price for one is tt+1,5. I was already confused as it was, so I didnt ask about the TT thing. I saw someone selling a Jester later in PA for tt+2, but I didnt dare go to them and take a look at the gun, since I was still confused about what the TT was (I couldnt figure out why someone would say TT instead of saying the whole price). So I PMed my mentor and asked him what the TT of a jester is :D Eventually he came to PA, bought a jester for me and explained everything :)
 
Today at PA "selling 7 bottles of vbrant sweat". Lots of lols after. :laugh:

Heyhey, I think this must be one of the best thread yet..

I did do a lot of those myself..found the bot spacecraft at troy oupost, and spent at least one hour going back, getting killed, going back..triing to figure out to loot the dam thing.

while waiting around at PA, this noob starts to spam in the chat window.."buying opalo at satues" or something like that..so i go to him and tell him that the opalo can be purchased from the tt..then he realises that he already purchased that one (solomate opalo) but tought that the opalo was better.

My confession...

Hehe...ive got so many noob stories about myself i dont know where to start, but my earliest idea how to make money and keep going was to Make killian swords (Assumed that when you craft a weapon it is full tt) and use those to hunt, buy resources make some more etc....and with hardly any money to start, i bought enough to have 2 tries...what do you know i didnt make any....very disappointed....;~}

And the most recent one...done a bit of mining, skills around 1-1.2k, just noticed two weeks ago that enmatter and mineral claim rods were different colour :ahh:

Now, I do remember asking what a HOF was...person at the time told me id find out :laugh:

And i was very worried that I was going to be the one to give the gift to my mentor after the mentoring period...

And getting very cross trying to attack exo's without weapons on the first day and not being able to...

And saying wtf first time i saw someone TP...

But as for others....I guess the best one, escorting group of noobs trapped at an outpost, after we got back to a TP..."You are our Hero forever"

For me, it wasn't something cute or funny that I said, but instead what I didn't say.

I joined in May 06 and as this was my first MMORPG I ended up playing it like all my previous games. Run around everywhere, work out everything for myself and interact with other people as little as possible.

It wasn't until I joined my first society in August that I spent more than 5 minutes a week talking. :D
 
hmm just remember another thing. I am and have always been a n00b at English... When I started playing in the first soc, TEC, nearly 2 years ago and someone said something ... I just replied "year" .. untill one day my soc leader said "Lykke, why are you saying year all the time? Do you mean yeah?" ... and, Yeah, I did :rolleyes:




(it took me the world to find out what "afk" meant. I had to look it up on the net :( )
