The answer would be an almost definite no. To earn enough to call it a living i would say that would be minimum something round 330 peds a day which will translate to roughly 1,000$ a month.
330 peds are a HOF a day and the rest of the hunt/mining/crafting echonimical enough to go even.
Mobs/ores/items that give that kind of money that often are high end and can only be gained with lots of skill and the best equipment.
So, when you are uber enough to do the top things in your chosen profession and you do your best to be echonomical, even if it means to grind the same thing over and over and over the whole day, month and year, then yes you can make a living.
To be that kind of uber though requires either a lot of money for equipment and chips, and we are talking lots and lots of money. hundredthousand peds atleast. Or you will do the sweating, then trading and hunting untill you get there the natural way. That will take many years though. Do not expect to get there before 2016, honest.
If you have more than the 100,000 peds and do not want to play the game, but to work with it, then you can buy a Land area. A cheap one will cost you more than a good car RL and you will have to spend all days promoting it to make people come.
So, there are no easy way to make money free, unless your name hapend to be Gladstone Gander. But there are several hard ways and even more ways to get broke and loose it all. Still it is lots of fun and there is always the posibility of an ATH comming your way.
