Only 20% return money on hunts?

Well, day after day i do some hunting, and soon i realize Woosh, my beautifull 5000 peds is gone, in that sum i only once got close to breaking even when i had a global on a drone, which got me up to a only one ped loss.

Anyway, more than 70% of the hunts ended with only 40% of full hunt cost recovered. the other 30% were net even close to breaking even but they were hunts wilh like 70-80% hunt cost recovered. And if loot was like those all the time, i would be gratefull, i would loose money, but still i would get something back, 70% recovered is a hell of a good hunt for me.

However that happened only a few times so i got worrried again, and after i learned a lesson, i decided to give MA one more chance. 11$ deposit, 6 peds for little repairs on a rifle, and 100 ped ammo... 11$ wont kill me. So i start the hunt , get bugged (terrainbug cought me, and i couldnt fire a rifle, nor i could remove it from my hands) and i was eaten through nemesis for a few minutes to death by few atraxes.

Yey, cant be more fun, well shit happens, i revive, go to a repair terminal and bang pay 18 peds repairs, and again im off to find some drones. And so i hunt those bots untill i lost ammo, and.... total loot was 23 ped,51 pec and 6 gazzurdite stones. total hunt price was 113,56 ped (without the bug accident) 24 ped? that is 20% of everything i spent.

So, was it worth of my money, my time or my nerves? 5106 peds of money spent to get one small global and one close to break even hunt?

i totally agree....even with global im not breaking even any more...last hunt with 230 ped ammo was 200 ped loss after repairs

Sometimes I see ppl hunt drones in expensive armors like nemesis, vigi or angel. Unarmed or with low cost armor, drones are cheaper to hunt if ppl don't need to FAP so much and have their FA-skills high. Many armors decay a lot. Anyway, I don't think 20% return on drones is any normal.
If cost is to high, ppl need to downgrade the mob they hunt.

i would never hunt trax or drones in nemesis...

rascal works hust fine for em and if u tank one alone and choose only 1 mob

at a time at smalles t level (trax young/drone 01) a fap 50 will be enuff

Question i would ask is why after losing the first 1000 of your 5000 ped you didnt stop and say to yourself "hey this is madness!". I certainly did after losing 700+ ped hunting since this VU. Ive taken up mining and guess what... im breaking even and starting to make profit

Thats not to say i miss the excitment of hunting, but until MA sort it out i refuse to hunt full time.

heh, i dont think your the only one to come back so broke from a hunt,

I've been out on a 100ped ammo runs, come back with approx 30ped it can be harsh, enough to put a damper on hunting for a while

ahh well look on the bright side. With hunts like that, next time has got to be better

Same happened to me....lost more that 100 peds, 2 times, in less than 3 hours of gameplay.....well, I cannot afford this madness....the biggest loot I got was an accidental 48 peds off an exo young who came my way.....by the way, I hunted argoes at Hadesheim Outpost.

Now I find myself with little on the ped card, I am not complaining, but under these circumstances I won't deposit. I'll wait for the 10k loots to pass, and we'll see....I recommend you do the same for now

Yup, the uber-loots have really unbalanced loot in general. I'm a long time Argonaut hunter, mainly in the Hadesheim area.
In the past 4 months or so that I've hunted argos I could count on one hand, MAYBE 1.5 the number of times I've finished a hunt without profit, or at least break-even.

Practically ever hunt of my 2-3 hunts a day in the area would yield profit or at the VERY least break-even. Ever since the Mega-HOFs started that has stopped cold. Not only am I not getting the profits (Small on many occasions but still a profit) but I'm losing big time - 30-80ped a hunt and higher sometimes. Argos! Using 1x0, 2x0 and Rascal. Even going without armor the losses keep mounting...on a mob that I was virtually guaranteed to at least break-even. Maddening.

I agree with others that the loot are severely out of balance now for hunting. Mining I'm actually making a small profit to breaking-even. Right now for me mining feels a lot like my argo days..break-even or small profits, so far the only difference is I haven't gotten any mining globals - but used to get argo hunting globals ALL the time. It'll come in mining I suppose.

I'm within 60 ranks of 4600 Longblade and possibly reaching Great Swordsman Professional Standing -- and *maybe* unlocking Serendipity, so the temptation to hunt more is strong..but I must resist. My one hunt last night in argo land was a small loss of only around 20ped...but when that number used to be 2-5ped on a rare lose it's hard to swallow.

Well, I kept my hunting time low for quite some time already but when I went out a few times recently the result was always horrible...
I didn't use a lot of money for repairs and such and went hunting different MOB's...
Well... Now that I think of it it's been around 20% return as well...
I wouldn't usually complain about losing money here, but 20% is truly somewhat ridiculous...
I'm only a noob but it seems to be the same for many at the moment...

I've been having simmilar experience with loot also. To me you should be able to to have 15 US last you a month as it would cost you that much with most games. I used to be ok with just 10US a month but thats' realy starting to not happen. And this is hunting with pixie and axes on small mobs in multiple location doing just about everything i could think of.

I think realy the only way to change next deposit is to try and spend more. I think i will try hunting mobs that nearly kill me each time and i NEED to fap. I realy think hunting effeciently by the stats and numbers realy screws you over now with loot. Cuase i started doing good when i started just being stupid and going after tripuidion in pixie and having to fap lots. Same with my wife who globals, when i watch her i'm like how the heck do you hunt like that and do well the numbers all say that you should be doing crap.


Otherwise though if you realy want to protest dont file support case after support case. Dont Post on a forum. Simply log on and chat with your friends and DONT HUNT or do another activity like mining or crafting where the loot is in your favor.

MA watches the stats of the general public more then anything to balance things. If they see that lots of people are logging on but not spending or not spending in one area of the game they see it as a problem and aim to fix things so that ppl start spending again. Why do you think sweating has changed so much.

its always like that this vu, i rarely profit, and i'm as smart to leave my nem in storage, rascal with a couple peds repairs and valor (pretty good eco considdering that i refuse to hunt with axes again) and its always +- 50% return (which seems good when i look at some of your stories )
deposit 10$, half an hour later: what the hell happened to my money?
i am not going to deposit again for some time, i had some good luck over the last 6 months, and i am making a profit on MA if i decide to withdraw, but if i had 500% return on my investment on those 6 months, i feel like it is going to waste in a couple of weeks...

Same story for me, I've been playing for over 2 years and have decent skills and equipment... Regardless of those facts, I lose my ass when hunting these days. I created an excel spreadsheet a couple of VU's ago and have recorded some data... Before this VU, on an average hunt I was pulling 20-30% losses after ammo costs and decay of all equipment was factored in. This VU I've seen results shift to 40-50% losses for any given hunt.

In light of these results, I've taken up mining. When mining I rarely see more than 30% loss in TT value and it takes much longer amounts of time to use my peds up... I'm highly noobish when it comes to mining and I don't find it nearly as exciting but it costs me MUCH less per hour of game play. I'm not rich so I either play PE less or find a way to reduce my cost/hr of play...

And yes, I'm pissed that MA nerfed my looting abilities in the profession I've worked so hard and spent so much money to develop. I don't appreciate needing to start over.

I hope MA turns down the uber loots soon, so we can all get back to hunting!

Sorry guys, but that some people lose bigtime on their hunting is nothing new or related to the uber hofs.
Its related to you luck, if you believe in that, or your adaptation if you belive there is more to it than random luck.

What is for certain regardless of which of the two you believe in is that MA will make certain changes at times in order to make it harder to profit or break even.

If mind ark dump all loots 1 pec, how long does it take to build a 10k PED HoF?
Were only talking a million loots.
When i hunt i guess i kill about 50-60 mobs an hour.
This means 20k hunted hours will yield a 10k HoF if they skim as little as 1 pec of each loot.
So if they skim 1 pec of each loot they can probably build a 10k PED hof within 48 busy hours, without really affecting the loot noticably..
Also, I havent been able to play as much as ive wanted lately, but when i HAVE played i have not lost on my hunting, and most definetly NOT lost 80%..

that's too much loss.

You should make some changes. In your weapon. In your armor. In your fap. In what you hunt.. whatever you are doing, it's not working. Try going back to naked hunting of noob mobs and build up your strategy to keep yourself where you can get more return.

Anything below 50% return is bad, and probably doesn't represent the best % return your avatar is capable of achiving.

Tigerman is probably right there might not be a link between the Uber Hofs and the cost of hunting. My experience seems to be similar to other people's posts on this thead since the Uber hofs the hunting (even small stuff) seems to be much more expensive (even with a whip/ axes). Not a casual link but a definite correlation

PS anyone want a cheap crafted weapon?

You know that at your skill level the dps of Katsuichis FAR outweighs the efficiency of the axes right? (even when they vere bugged).

Personally i use the K. Honor until i know i can finish a mob with 1 or 2 axe chops , and my skill is much lower than yours.

I still loose though
