Regardless of what some folks have to say about this purchase the fact of the matter is that MANY folks will go there for sure.

I for one will purchase my space flight tickets as soon as the station is up and running. I eagerly look forward to new creatures, areas and mining fields.

Can't wait to see how you pull THIS one together for us. "PartyGurl" that I am (especially with the dude above me here) . . . I'm hoping for a big enough lounge with adequate lighting and special effects . . . AND oh YA . . . a damn jukebox that plays "GAMER CHICK" . . . I think I've shot up or whipped just about every jukebox around . . . maybe missed a couple, so back to work!

Looking forward to the new adventure for SURE . . . I'm standing in line right behind Blood Moon . . . Hmmmm . . . maybe in front of him, that would be a lot more fun for sure. ;)

The public auction offering the Space Resort started Friday 21st of October at a staring price of 1 PED, and with a buyout price of 1,000,000 PED. The response to the news of the Space Resort was immediate –

JUST DURING THE WEEKEND EIGHT PARTIES APPROACHED MINDARK EXPRESSING SERIOUS INTEREST IN PURCHASING IT. JUST THREE DAYS AFTER THE LAUNCH, THE BUYOUT PRICE WAS MET BY Jon NEVERDIE Jacobs, BEFORE THE COMPETITION.

Neverdie was the first one who was giving the BUYOUT offer. The 7 other was giving lover offer or was to late.

And stop talking about Island girl and show some respect !!!!!!

Well grats ND, methods might be a bit... unknown but effect was great.

Let's see if MA will put an Storage and Teleport to this resort... if they do this will be very lucrative investment for ND, if they won't it might be big dissapointment. I am just curious who will spend some cash for an apartament or shop booth if everytime that he gonna want to put some new items on shop or visit his appartament he gonna need to pay apporx. 20 ped for flight ? (any cash for transport). Ofcourse it will look like that scientist discivered new technology that allows for interspace teleporting... or something in that design... with or more like without it... this investment might be a big mistake.

My Opinion.

If NEVERDIE is a employee of MA.. its been discussed many times.

If I remember correctly NEVERDIE is the official spokesperson for MA in USA. However he's not listed as a MA-employee.

I dont know when this "agreement" was made between them, but..
Perhaps this is because NEVERDIE is (or was at least) a very profiled person in the community? He did the Gamer-chick song, perhaps he just "voulenteered" for the job as spokesperson since he has a passion about the game? The same passion that made him buy the Space Resort?

Neverdie is currently in the midst of hurricane Wilma in Florida, so think twice before anyone flames him for not posting. Once he gets his power back, perhaps he will share some insight on his plans for the station :)

And your point? Please reference a single player who has been reprimanded, banned, or whatever, for using multiple avatars before trying to make a point about NEVERDIE getting special treatment.

I don't know the guy - never met him and probably won't.

I don't give a flying monkey how attached he is to MA- it is completely irrelevant.

What I do care about is that he has just bought a massive chunk of this game on an auction.

Lets judge him (or if he is a stooge for MA) by his actions...how he develops and uses this new space station.

Please move on...make some sensible suggestons for him on how the name the thing, how to develop it or something CONSTRUCTIVE

i bet manic would have a few things to say about all you skrubes holding nuts on ND before he himself has even had a chance to speak. let him at least pull his car out of a tree once hurricane wilma blows over, before going any further with the usual rumor mill =D

i admit i find it hard to believe that actual peds were moved around, he probly made some sort of special deposit that he arranged with MA ahead of time. since this is MA's system, they can do what they like with their monetary infrastructure. who cares about the details? the space station is his and ND is a good player who will bring good times to all. but yes, since MA just got all this money lately, as a player i expect to see all these hofs keep coming. after all, this is a casino blahblah.. so there should be large payouts. its fun to get a big hof. not like hardly ANYone actually withdraws anyway =D

all you noobs running yer mouth should spend that time skilling instead so you dont get your face ripped off by all the strange mobs that will be up there.

If there will be 10 domes with different mobs and all those other things that were mentioned, I believe people will spend more time up there than they currently do on the present space station. The whole DNA thing will be very interesting, and if ND gets his hands on a Hogglo DNA, people will flock to space just to hunt those.

Paying 20 ped back and forth wouldn't even be the case.... you could buy an apartment and a shop keeper, bring up select armors from calypso and put them in your apartment, hunt in the domes and then put any good loots in the shopkeeper. I don't see what the problem is with the absence of a teleporter.

Can you use some of this money to fix a few of the existing problems in PE ( all you have to do is just take a look at all the support cases I and others have sent that you have closed prematurely)?!?!?!

Since the last VU, I still can't fap other players, everyone is missing a large percentage of point blank range shots (range and melee) , and we still lag like crazy. I can't imagine what lag will be like with some huge influx of players. ..
 
If anyone does the math I think it was a good buy, I was interested in looking into purchasing it but I expected it to go on for 1 month before buyout. 3 days didn't even give enough time to make up a business plan.

I explained it to my friends like this(who probably still think I'm crazy)
The apts on Calypso were 250,350,450 peds. IF all 1000 sell for at least 250, that's 25,000 USD back right there. If you get rent from them also, 10 ped a month, that's 1000 a month for all. 12,000 a year: 37,000 USD.
I don't think he can sell the bio domes but currently on Amethera they've been selling around 40,000 peds, so 10x40,000 peds= 40,000USD, totalling 77,000 USD.
I also think he will be able to sell advertising and I just made this figure up but maybe 1000 USD a month=12,000 a year... 89,000 USD total market worth theoretically. Plus there's taxes and the special events that he may be able to charge from.

The only thing I didn't like was how people couldn't visit it before the purchase!

I'd say it's a good buy.

Well... 10 domes ok.... diffrend unique (maybe some new ones) ok... but you talking about completly "self standing part of PE here" and i'm talking about that ton of newbs that will spawn there instead of PA, now imagine that every new newbie will spawn there on space station surrounded by other ones like him and also ubers that hunt Hogglo and stuff (ask youself who in this game is able to hunt Hogglos efficently). It works more to behaviour, you are new in game and see a gun that sweeping ubermobs... they (newbies) gonna have only one option here (cause i dubt there will be sweatable mobs on station or any other free pec job) they gonna need to pay at last 10 bucks to get out of that prison ! :p

And the problem of not having free TP... let's think... hmm at first week station gonna be visited by like 5k + people and maybe bring some nice profit... but in long term it need a teleporter... why ? because not everyone can (or want) to buy something that have hard accesibilty, imagine a person that want buy an apartament, he gonna choose cheap 250-450 ped's version on Amethera or xxx priced version somewhere on space station where to show someone how well you managed to decorate your apartament you need to take him there witch cost peds and time, easier and more common choose would be for example Platinium Building witch is like 15 m from tp on Amethera, or taking bulk stuff you got to space station and keep it in your apartament... not everyone have so deep pockets to afford that. So it will become a station for only wealthy ubers and broke newbs.... but newbs will pay cash and become an ubers maybe someday...

Anyway i cannot imagine life on space station instead of good start in PA.

I did the math and... i still thing that without TP and Storage this project won't bring back 100k USD in 2 years. It will be just uncommon and too expensive to use it...

but that's just my opinion... time will show

You're not very good at economics, are you?

If someone, anyone, invests this much money - That means they most likely are not looking at making it back within two years. I doubt Deathifier didn't expect his investment to take one year before he'd get it back.

And I still think a lot of it doesn't neccessarily have to do with wanting to make money, but a big reason for ND to throw this much money MAs way comes from his love for the game. Perhaps a tribute, too.

I'll simply create a new avatar and 'spawn' on the space station and look around. No need to pay a shuttle fee just to browse.
