EFD Store Maintenance

Status
The new Gift section is UBER COOL :yay:

Just a question ... Why the amps A10X Series have 2 Different prices? ... Under Misc they are cheaper :scratch2:

I will fix, thx for reporting.

Btw .. another question ...

What about the EFD or our Color/Titles/Font Customizations .... will we get back EFD or The "old" Setting ?

Ahem...look 2 posts above yours:

Still working on username and user title customizations. Either they will be imported into the new EFD system (hopefully), or reimbursements will be made so that members can repurchase the options once the new EFD store is complete.

Thanks for the great job to you Mr.711 and your Team !

I vote for reimbursements here aswell Neo! As some of this stuff doesn´t work in all browsers...like for instance, the one I´m using right now Opera! :( Also...it would have been real neat to actually have seen what the outcome would have been before I did the purchase, as of now it was all lottery afaik...just my 2 pec! :)

Although I was well reimbursed - in respect to buying new icons - for my gifts, I'm a bit sad to see the ones go I had from friends, along with their greetings...

The preview issue will be resolved in the new EFD store, which will have a very cool username/title customization interface ;)

I will work out the details of reimbursements for username/title customizations, and perhaps make it optional to import old settings (if indeed it is possible to import at all).

More details will come when the new EFD store gets closer to completion.

Yes, this was why I was really hoping to somehow import the old EFD gifts data, rather than perform reimbursements. Unfortunately the old EFD system did not make this possible. :(

All the data is still in the database (which is how I was able to give accurate EFD reimbursements, but comments were not able to be incorporated into the new Icon Shop :(

In fact, the hover-over comments for icons is about the only feature from the old store that is missing in the new EFD store (which is much more secure, optimized, and has tons more features than the old one).

Though I tried very hard looking for a solution to do an import of the old EFD gifts, (which is one cause for the delay in getting the new Icon store up and running), it was simply not compatible.
Sorry I couldn't retain the comments on the gifts mate :(

@ 711: while you are still performing maintenance, and the EFD store menu item goes to this thread, would it be possible to put a link to the icon shop in your first post.

I know you have 'EFD Gift Icon System Restored' but the link is actually wrong and doesn't work (should be page 6 not 2). Actually often these links to specific posts don't work - do different people have different numbers of posts per page, so a link made by a 20 posts per page user won't work for a 10 posts per page user?

Anyway that's an aside, but if you could add a link directly to the icon gift shop to the OP on this thread, that would be very useful.

Unless there's another way to get to the shop I have missed.

Thanks :)

There is a link to the EFD Icon shop in the Quick Links menu in the navigation bar on the top portion of every EF page.
Right above where it says "Welcome, {username}".

I think the php Round() function sucks tbh....

Is it intended that the "Richest Users" list doesn't include EFD in the savings?

I know it's not completely done yet, but it wasn't like that few days ago...

Yes this is intended. In all public displays, only EFD currently in checking (not savings) is displayed.

Actually this has nothing to do with the php Round() function.

It is a result of the way the forum caches information to improve performance. You will notice that this only happens for the last 1 or 2 posts in a thread, that have been recently updated. All the rest of the posts on the page have no decimals displayed, and only 2 decimals in the Welcome, {username} area.

Actually, I know this is nothing to do with the round() function, it was just a joke. However, why can't the function be applied to the cached data?

The software that powers EF (vBulletin) uses a very advanced system of template and query caching. In addition, the EFD store is powered by a third party add-on module. This add-on offers the option to display however many decimal places desired, but the setting is global. If I set it to display zero decimal places, this causes confusion due to rounding in the EFD bank and donate pages (e.g. it will show someone has 1000 EFD in savings when they only have 999.51, causing negative balances when the user withdraws 1000 EFD).

Thus, I have set the EFD software to display 2 decimal places, then "hacked the hack" to not show any decimals in the avatar info area to the left of a post. This modification does not always work if a post has recently been updated however, or if the forum software uses ajax to update a page instead of a full page reload (i.e. when doing an edit to an existing post). A minor quirk, and worth the tradeoff imho.

Would not setting it to 2 decimal places globally fix it then? This would fix the negative balance balance especially if you can only move EFD in integer values. Unless of course there are more complexities to the issue than that.

It is already set at 2 decimal places mate. Go look in the EFD bank, or at the top of the page where it says "Welcome, AkiranBlade".

The only difference is that I did not wish to display any decimals in the postbit area (the section to the left of every post), so I modified the display there. Again, you will notice that the only times decimals are displayed in the postbit is for the last 1 or 2 posts in a thread, or if you use the edit function on a post (which invokes an AJAX database query rather than a full page load).

Hopefully everything will be back to normal soon... :) Gee I sound like someone from MindArk.

how much longer?

any new time frame on when it will be back up and going? Looks great so far.

any new time frame on when it will be back up and going? Looks great so far.

Many of the features of the EFD store are already working:

Donate
Bank
Lottery
Icon Shop

Links to all of these can be found in the Quick Links menu of the navigation bar at the top of every EF page.

As for username/title customizations and other features, that will take a bit more time, as I am waiting for the release of the addon package to enable such features in the new EFD system.

I expect that to be within 3-4 weeks or so.

However other EFD features that do not depend on the release of that addon may be added before then.

Subscribe to this thread for updates.

This issue is already addressed in 3 posts right before yours:

The whole EFD store is not up yet and won't be for a couple weeks, all that is up right now is the Icon Shop, Bank, and Lottery Tickets/Donate which can all be reached through the quick links in the top navigation bar.

only quoted part of the post here, but you should have your efd back and be able to rebuy ;)

EFD Gifts have been added to the new EFD software, and are now known as:

Anyone who had purchased EFD Gifts in the old EFD store will be receiving a reimbursement credit for those purchases, so that they can repurchase them in the new EFD Icon Shop.

.........

So far I have restored the original EFD Gift icons, but plan to add more icons and more categories soon.

Enjoy!
