I just found out one of Neverdie's more vocal antagonists is heavily cycling on Rocktropia.

I can understand people saying they don't like something and will not participate for such and such reason.
I can understand people having differing opinions from me.

I can only see one reason for someone so vocally putting down an area that they are heavily participating in with their money.

good press, bad press, its all spun for a reason and I am pretty sure I know why you are embracing the bad press so heavily and its not because you believe any of it.

Condone NDs behaviour and playing on his planet - that's two different things, you know.
 
Ya Narfi I am sad to say that, based on the limited info you have given, I have to side with Wiz on this one. You can indeed dislike a persons behaviour but still enjoy their product. It may help if you clarify who they are or if they are bashing RT itself.
 
Meh this argument goes two ways.

I think NEVERDIE is being unfairly targetted on many levels (though not all of them), but I have never set foot on Rocktropia.

Should I be primarily cycling my peds there because of where my sentiments lay on this particular issue? :scratch2:

Not that Im really seriously considering this. Im just poking fun at the line of questioning thats developed and attempting to be light hearted about it.

It will probably come across as arrogant or rude. ;)

If you dont like how ND do "abuse" system , you certainly should not suport what he do by bringing him money and people on his planet...

Seems a bit like hating a politic person because he/she say BS and do bad things , but going vote for him/her every singel time you can...

Exactly,

But my point is really that this person is not as anti-ND as he claims. He only behaves that way because he knows the fewer people on Rocktropia the more he can profit by going to Rocktropia. His only motivation is his own pocketbook, and he doesn't care what he says to get there.

"I won't buy an ipad because i think Steve Jobs sucks" doesn't make any sense either.

If you think that Steve Jobs sucks because he exploits poor third world countries to manufacture ipads and that's why you boycott apple products, well, that' would match what you said above - but that's a different story, really (despite all the hype, Steve Jobs =/= ipad) because what you dislike here is something that connects Steve Jobs' actions to your actions, and you support his actions by buying an ipad (to a very small degree) and subsequently it is you who helps exploiting poor third world countries - if you dislike Steve Jobs because his haircut sucks, why boycott iphones??

What ND does (and what people dislike him for) is by no means a result of the income on RT, so not playing on RT is not going to change anything.
Actually i think it is the absence of revenue from RT that makes ND pull such bullshit stunts...

If you only dislike his hair cut , you just dont watch him or things where he is in foto , for exemple would be stupid to watch a tv show with him if you hate so much his hair cut that it give you big button on face...

If you dont like his action and action of his compagny that his product create , it make sence to not buy his product... if ipad are made by slave child , and you are against slave child , it make sence to not buy an ipad...

You take the problem wrong way... if those people hate ND its because he cheat , but , if MA does not take any action its because ND bring them "money" (people on his planet and advert)...If all his planet become a big desert , i think the message will be more clear to ma , then the 20 usual grumpy old fart complain on forum...

Why would MA kill the gold egg hen ?
But , if you remove the goldden eggs , then its just an hen amonst other hen , and , if she create disturbence in the force , she will probably be the next to the menu...

If that is true, wouldn't everyone have sold out completely long ago? A lot of people who are still around have a pretty strong dislike for MindArk. Same idea really.

I don't take it the wrong way - what you suggest is to boycott MA (because they decide if they let ND carry on like that).

But then we'd have to ask narfi to change the opening post, because if we dislike MAs weak policy that allows ND to do what he does... we should all put our money where our mouths are and stop playing at all (and not only on RT) - although i doubt that this is what nari had in mind as he started this thread.


Because that is what you suggest: Exercising pressure on the one who is in charge - the one who has the power to stop things but doesn't for whatever reason.
 
I was vocal against ND play style, and mostly on the fact that I think what he does is cheating. And I am on Rocktropia. Rocktropia is part of EU. And an important part of economy you can not ignore. If balancing manager makes it that you have to be there, I will be there. What can I do?
Ofc, about what I do not like I will post less and less on forum but I will complain to all customer associations known to man and have the service and behavior reviewed by people who are more business oriented and less forum rep oriented. It will work best for all if I do that. Writing posts and support cases is clear it has no effect.

So let's all have fun on Rocktropia.
 
I put my money where my mouth is. I dont go in certain domes on FOMA. I dont travel to Rocktropia. I dont buy goods from entire societies, I follow "The List" and add names. I wont go to certain LA's. I dont buy apple. I try not to buy Chinese.

Best you can do is add double talking AV to the "dont trade" list. They will say your list wont stop em which is true but the more ppl wont deal with them, the more hurt the ped card becomes.
 
BTW, with this kind of threads I suppose you wana do some service to ND and RT. And you end up with the short end of the stick. You would help more just by not giving people the opportunity to point out the obvious.

If your point is merely that they are hypocritical then you might have something.

But note that hypocrites can still be correct.

So I could say something like: You shouldn't !!!! women, and then go !!!! a woman. I would be hypocritical, but surely it would be bizarre to use that as a reason for why I am wrong when I say you shouldn't !!!! women.

There are lots of reasons for why people are hypocrites, maybe they just don't have the will power to do what they know is right, maybe they don't realise they are being hypocritical, maybe they do, but being hypocritical benefits them in some way.

So be careful, this person playing on RT lots may be being a hypocrite, but that doesn't say anything about whether or not they are correct about their claims of NEVERDIE.

Well you see that's how you increase the price of something without increasing the demand, you simply make the item supply lower then the demand.

Kind of like what some automakers do with their top of the line cars, demand for them is low, so they make far less then the demand and charge a lot for them.

But I think his point is, if the MU is pushed higher because their is less people hunting so less supply, wouldn't the same thing also push the MU lower, since there are less buyers...
