abuse by pirate using summonfucntion

Every time any MS/Privateer owners see the rats in their quads, click their passenger lists, add them on your own Summons list. Summon them everytime you come into docking zone, and then eject them in space. Shoot them/loot them.
To my knowledge it is not possible to summon people who are already in space (although it might be different for those at the asteroid and CP).

It isn't up to other MS/Privateer owners to act anyway, and if they did they could be implicated and receive a lengthy ban/account suspension themselves - remember the case of the Bank owner who was locked for months simply because someone involved in a dodgy trade used their bank?

Other MS/Privateer owners would be limited in what they could do anyway. It probably would take only one friendly fire shot from a quad to destroy the abducting ship - there simply would not be enough time for gunners on another vessel to act.

Dreadnought for sale at 260k sb, 500k bo.

Any takers?

I wonder why the pirate MS suddenly got put up for sale....

Got an email from their friend in MA telling them that one the big boys is coming back from holiday?

Or more likely, the best employed strategy of all the wannabe punks: hit and run, sell stolen assets, enjoy the liquidity.

Can anyone speculate as to why MA has not acted yet?

I cant beleive that they wouldnt have anyone on site able to deal with these kinds of situations as thats not realistic scenario for a business like that. And I know they deal with harrassment cases quickly as recently I saw someone screwing around with the sweaters at boreas, and 30 minutes and a few SC's later they dissapeared.

I'm sure this would have gone up pretty high within MA and they all would know whats going on as they are a modern business at the end of the day...?

Don't you feel good now when you know the slow withdrawal proccess

Dreadnought for sale at 260k sb, 500k bo.

A couple of days ago a mothership was sold for 90k ped, just one bidder who got it for SB if I remember right.

Dunno if it costs 170k ped to improve SI from default to ~17000 or what it is now.

Well those mining with non-decaying oa109 was doing so for like half a year before being locked, looks like this matter is going in the same direction.

Careful who you trade with while this summoning scam gets sorted out

It might be wise to not trade with anyone if you are not certain they are not involved with laundering stolen property.

I am curious to know what is the implication for someone who buys something dodgy from the auction house? If the stolen property is sold through auction house by an alternative avatar set up by a summoning scammer what happens to player who has bought such an item in through the auction?

One of the scammers is bold enough to sell an item in the auction house using his own avatar which we know is involved in the summoning scam. My recommendation is not to bid on said item.

Really the only things to be concerned about are stackables , ul quad , dreadnought and the starfinder 32

Good advice

Thank you for the advice about being careful of stackables, unlimited quads and the known warpships involved with the summoning scam. I will be sure to pass this good advice along to all who may miss reading it here.

In previous scams, the perp would often shift the goods to an alt avatar and then "sell" the goods "out of the system" for quick cash. i.e. Buyer gives perp cash or trade outside of EU and the perp "gives" the goods to the buyer via trade window. In previous scams, both the perps AND their trading partners have been locked, sometimes for months.

Beware of who you trade with. If the price seems to be way too good, it likely is.

While I appreciate the positives of MA slowing down withdrawals - gives MA time to investigate potential wrong-doing, this does not mean that they should be so super-slow to respond to problems as here.

On another forum the naming ban was lifted in this case as they felt the claims had already been widely substatiated, planet devs were apparently being told so they could try and fast-track to MA too, but still there was apparently a new summons round.

so, community for up-to-datedness... is the XXXII still around and anybody on the GL? Is there a hole in the ozone layer now, or is it still active? Has MA shown any responses anywhere apart from support answers of looking into it?

I have received very quick responses and resolution to 2 separate support cases filed in the last few days. Although they were minor compared to the summons issue, it shows that they are there and working.

Now, the summons issue is massive, and it borders in scope to the original MM instance debacle. There are TONS of data to sift through, and you have to expect some major delays. They cannot rush here, and start resolving one persons issue at a time. Personal losses will have to wait. They have to make sure that every support claim is indeed from these pirates, and not some other poor sap who legally got shot down by them or someone else a few days or weeks prior and lost their possessions. There will be no rushing to judgment with personal cases, period. They cannot do that and if they did, I would lose immense respect for them. Trust that they will sort it out.

However, the one thing I think they CAN and SHOULD rush to judgement on, is to at least temp-ban the offenders while they are sorting this out, in order to stop them from doing what they seem to be continuing to do as of this post.

Just found this on the Ark forum:
Update: Last night, I had it on good authority that this is now being looked into by a "senior" person at MA and that said person "does not like what this player is upto one bit".

Sufficed to say, we will need to be patient and let things happen as they will.

Bump this thread as required and keep us all appraised if you are still receiving summons from the person or ship involved and file your support cases as necessary.

Let's hope it's true: http://arkadiaforum.com/showthread.php?8920-Warning!-Pirates-exploiting-Summoning-to-Privateer/page3

Why should I be afraid of UL Quad? Can they summon people also, is this a feature on Ul Quads?

If this is true, then Snape over at ark forums is doing a much better job than "someone" *ahem* in pcf.

I would definitely trust what Snape says, and it's a shame that an announcement hasn't been made yet at the forum where the majority of the community congregate if something is being done. Will be interesting to see just what that will be.

No, the UL Quad cannot summon and has no part in this to my knowledge (others feel free to correct me on this if I'm wrong - misinformation should be avoided).

However, it appears that Quad-wing (L) are being used to commit the final part of the atrocity.

I am sure that MA are investigating this.

They are being slow to lock , however they may be using the "give em enough rope and they will hang themselves " technique so they can catch all the avatars envolved in this not just the owner of the privateer.

Unlimited Quad was mentioned in the same way the Dreadnought was mentioned: only because it is currently for sale. The caution was to bear this in mind before offering to buy the vehicle in question.

Until then they can make that Summon message to be like the info messages from Auctioneer, to appear like a small icon and not on half of screen right in the middle just ready to be pressed

Okay, good point.

Sorry but the support does not appreciate the honest players and commends the maneuverings we have witnessed over the weekend;/ lost my faith in this game: (

How about if someone clearly writes the letters 'd' 'u' 'c' 'k' on the fingers of their flying fist? Can the thug argue about the clear warning given too?

So, next round in the battle - does the tracked data show how long between the message appearing and the message being clicked on? Do the records show that auction was being browsed at that moment, or anything else?

It's their software that is trapping people into a completely unwanted click, even if they are not directly setting up the theft. Many solutions have been put forward. The support answer (if genuine) simply sucks big time!

Support probably does not know how the interface looks like the game, never been to our place so they do not understand the problem I guess,
