we need a section for resource gathering profession

I found that there is one for resources:

I agree that this forum may benefit from a resource gathering section (or more likely subsection)

Dev's Corner however is for the attention of Mindark / FPC for issues & improvements inside the game.

711 (the forum owner) was around yesterday, and I think he is the only person who could create a new section so you might be best sending him a PM as he may miss this thread.

Sadly it has nothing to do with resource gathering other then the name and is for discussing items not the profession.
 
yeah, I agree, whilst its fairly under-developed its still a profession separate from the rest and should have its own place
 
When the Mining was first retitled to Resource Gathering in the ingame profession interface, I suggested to 711 that he might similarly retitle the Mining section of the forum, and change the section's description to include the new profession.

So it's been discussed some time ago.
 
To be clear, changing mining to resource gathering wouldn't be a good solution.

Adding a NEW resource gathering area is what I am suggesting. It is completely different then mining and will have new features later, but still there is much to discuss about resource gathering even now that wouldn't fit in the Mining area and would be lost in the other discussions there.

Definitely would be useful to have a section for this ! Good idea, hope it happens eventually.

Hahaha, I can already see how the war campaign started with best intentions turns into it's opposite. Gotta appreciate the irony in this! :laugh:

I will donate 50 ped to Taco for Rusty (should he actually make it), and additional 50 ped for anyone else on my ignore list. Good riddance, godspeed!
 
I agree we need a resource gathering section - hug the trees
 
I am going to take pics of every type of tree I have identified & harvested.
1. Rather aggravating as it is difficult to get to the correct position to harvest. I usually lose patience & untick the option box "move to target" - I think the result is I get less timber that way

mining has zero to do with tesource gathering. it needs its own section. mining has as much to do with trees as hunting
 
At the end of the day, hunting and mining--and gathering wood--are all resource-gathering professions.

The growing issue now is the disconnect & imbalance caused by a too-large percentage of crafters gathering all their resources from the trade terminals (nanocubes), and not from the resource-gathering professions.

Thanks for the feedback.

The organization of forum sections is something I have long experience with, and the current structure is well suited to handle the relative number of threads for relevant topics.
