Global & hof animation, it is ONLY to incite gambling addiction. Sence this game is not a gamble or a casino.. why do we have these globals and hofs visuals and sounds?

I know why they are here, cuz we are all addicts.

I dont think these global, hofs would fly in the new law department of a none gambling game when you have a system setup to give crack to addicts.

Now that camera doesn't zoom on globals I don't even notice them most of the time if my headphones aren't on.

Same here when my sound is low, but I don't care about a swirl, as long as the run is profitable and you do not need a swirl for that.
 
While at it remove global and hof messages stream
 
leave them in the game. I actually wish more games would have gimmick like that as icing on the cake when something special has been achieved or found ^^
 
Leave the globals and HoFs, its a good source of information.
 
Careful what you wish for with the bugs endemic to the game, it is likely any attempt to remove the swirly, would in fact remove the HOF and leave the swirl :banghead:
 
sence none understands the context, Mindark have globals and hofs just the same as slots have sounds and special effect to keep going.
Mindark have told us that this is not a gambling game but still have effects like a casino slot.

I petition to remove this simply cuz above statment.

I highly doubt it will happen but here we are :lolup::lolup:

Sure messi, not everyone plays for global/hofs but most are :p

I know a lot of games that have such effects are those all gambling, even not RCE but damn same light effects that you find in casino slot mashines.

You should try to use Globals as a source of information instead complaining about gambling, what EU definately not is.
Checked by lotterieinspectionen several times in the past, and officals dont see it as gambling so why you want to tell everyone it is gambling ????

Rarly give -REP but for you who like to remove one of the parts of EU that are very important for me (as source of information) and very likely for many others aswell who dont see EU as gambling, I think you deserved it.

I totally disagree.
Firstly your statement that most people here are gamblers is almost certainly a myth and a huge assumption.
Yes there are gamblers and addicts (look at the EP4 HOFS) but there are far more players that just play the game, get excited when they get a swirly and a sense of minor achievement, then just carry on. Nothing at all wrong with a bit of feel good factor.
My statement is also an assumption, but based on looking at the folk in my soc, on my FL, that I chat to daily in Discord, I can think of only 2 or 3 that have to take care with the addiction to swirlies, and they really do try to manage that. The rest of us enjoy the game for what it is ..an adventure.. a social interaction .. a challenge in which we try to make an occasional small profit :)
Don't let the swirlies of a few (doubtless addicted gamblers) fool you into thinking it is true of the many.

tbh if they remove anything, I wish we could go back to the days of swirls being 50ped or more.. that first swirl really meant something back then.
I also wish they could find another way to remove the obvious gambling BPs from crafting, and return crafting to being a normal part of the game and of the economy, but I very much doubt they will remove that while it showers them in ped.

Exactly. There is no gambling for many of us that actually understand the game.

Clearly your gambling is an indicator of poor understanding of the game you are in so that you instead of treating it like a game of skill, you are ignoring what is in front of you and taking your own skill factor out of the game and mindlessly clicking. That creates gambling out of a system that isn't even random at all.

An analogy is a gambling addict sticking their finger in the electrical socket without knowing if it is on or not to see if they get a shock. Some people would be predisposed to enjoy the risk, but they could just pay attention and figure out the system, and check the electrical switch instead of shocking themselves on a chance-based occurance. Their choices create the gambling situation, this is not a gambling game though it is easy to accuse it of such.

Try crafting, even if you don't want to gamble it simply is a gamble... you buy mats for 300 clicks... and you may end up with 150 clicks being 50% tt-return... and only 1 times 4 multiplier... bad run ofc, thanks to the game being designed as a gambling machine...

OP doesn't understand how games work.

The swirls are a form of reward feedback, they are an essential game element that keeps players motivated and enjoying the game. If anything this game needs to increase the number of positive feedback loops, not remove any.

I agree I think one of the best things they did was change the 50 ped requirement for globals. Played for almost 2 years before I got a global, had so many 49 ped ones too. I wasn't even lossing money in those 2 years my account was worth more then what I had deposited but I still felt like I was doing something wrong cause I never got a global.
 
Beside that:

Look at all globals, HoFs that produce swirls.

OP say its to get you into gambling addiction, but...

what about PK streak globals --- where is that gambling?
what about Tier upgrade globals --- where is that gambling?
what about kills as creature globals --- where is that gambling?

A simple motivator, a small reward in form of trumpets and HoF entry for 24hrs if you did anything of that.
No cash back, so please OP how could this globals be there to get us into a gambling addiction, when there is nothing to win, except some bragging rights?
 
Wrong. Globals/hofs animation/sound are to wake you up at your desk. From all the mindless grinding. :ahh:
