Jermaine Johansson: You’re watching Entropia Breaking News. I’m your host, Jermaine Johansson.

Today’s top story: The robots have been defeated!

All robot transport ships have vanished, and no Vanguard have been detected for some time.
Imperial Engineers have calculated that the structure of the Vanguards does not allow for greater mass than that of the Vanguard known as Entropy. The robots assaulted us with their most powerful, but yet again Calypso stood victorious.

The CDF is still looking for the traitor Charles Marvin.

In other news: An ancient race of highly intelligent humanoids on Calypso? Rumors have recently been circling about remnants of an ancient indigenous civilization having been discovered near Fort Troy. The CDF has made a thorough investigation and concluded that the so-called alien civilization is nothing but a Thorifioid settlement. The governor’s office has issued a warning that those spreading and/or perpetuating false rumors can and will be indicted for disturbing the public order.

On a lighter note: the Imperial Exobiology Institute have recently released a statement that Eomon pheromone levels have reached the threshold associated with the start of the annual Eomon migration. Pheromone levels have peaked in the following locations:
    • Nymphtown
    • Minopolis
    • Cape Corinth
    • Livas
    • Port Atlantis

Every year around this time, the massive Eomon migrate to their summer grazing grounds.
The Imperial Exobiology Institute has predicted Friday this week as the start of the Eomon hunting season. Note however that Imperial Zoological Scouts have yet to make a confirmed observation of Eomon.

Get your gear, grab some friends, and stay tuned to EBN for all your migration related news!
    Migration is upon us.

Jermaine Johansson: “You’re watching Entropia Breaking News. I am your host, Jermaine Johansson.
Today’s top story: Peace on Calypso.
After months of constant battle against the robot nemesis, it seems the siege may finally be lifted.
CDF Ground Forces Commander, Brigadier General Yevgeny de Souza, joins us for an exclusive interview.
Welcome, general. Thank you for joining us.
Let’s get right to the point. General, is the war finally over?”

Yevgeny de Souza: “The robot invasion has been waning ever since the original Feffox escaped. Robot reinforcements have been coming in less and less frequently. It’s only a matter of time before the CDF has cleansed Calypso of the last remaining robot forces. Then, the war will be over.”

Jermaine: “Will it really be over, though? What of the RX? Why did the RX steal the Egg? Were they cooperating with the robots or acting on their own? If they were indeed working together - why did the robots want the Egg? And, as you just mentioned, why did the robots back off when the Egg ha-”

Yevgeny de Souza: “Look - robots invade, we defend. Business as usual. The RX question is a completely separate issue. They WILL be dealt with. We just need some time to recover and regain our strength. At the moment we lack the ability to undertake operations of any scale.
When we have regained that ability, however, our top priority will be to locate and capture the fugitive Charles Marvin. We could handle the robots, or the Feffox, but not at the same time. Charles Marvin bears the ultimate responsibility for turning what would be a standard tin can hunt into what could have been the end of the colony as we know it.
When he’s found, he will be put on trial for treason... and when found guilty, he will suffer perma-death.”

Jermaine: “Oh... Wow. Hrm. Speaking of the Feffox, general - what’s your opinion on the holder of the Green Atrox Egg being given a Feffox DNA by the RDI?”

    Yevgeney de Souza: “…
    I did not know that.”

Jermaine: “Assurances have of course been given by the RDI that the Feffox DNA has been modified so as to prevent another outbreak like the one we just experienced.”

Yevgeny de Souza: “Yeah. After all that’s happened, I don’t exactly trust scientists anymore. We’ll see how the event unfolds.”

Jermaine “Well, there you have it, folks. Finally, we can breathe a sigh of relief as our colony is safe once again. I’m Jermaine Joha-”

Yevgeny de Souza: “The colony isn’t safe at all! Did you not listen to me? The CDF is but a shadow of its former self. I have suggested to the Governor that while the CDF recovers, the Federal Empire should step in and-”

    Jermaine Johansson:
“THANK YOU, General. Like I said... A sigh of relief.
I’m Jermaine Johansson, reporting to you from Exodus... Space... Uh...
    What the hell is that?
Get the general back on the line! A BIG FREAKIN’ VANGUARD IS APPROACHING CALY-”

Jermaine Johansson: “We interrupt tonight’s broadcast to bring you news of numerous sightings of huge Feffox-like beasts near Feffox nest sites on Eudoria.
CDF urges all colonists to pick up arms and join the fight to eradicate these colossal beasts.
EBN has tried to reach Xenobiologist Charles Marvin for a comment.”

Colossal Feffox sighted at the following locations:
    • North of Nymphtown - 88076, 79382
    • East of Boreas - 75764, 67011

The Feffox Mayhem event was a big success, with over one million of the ferocious creatures slain by brave colonists trying to contain the horde. The Imperial Zoological Scouts wishes to extend its gratitude to those colonists who assisted in collecting over 400,000 Feffox Sacs that will be invaluable in researching a scientific solution to the Feffox infestation.
Until such a solution has been developed, the existing Feffox Nests remain a hazard to all Calypsians. Hunters are encouraged to continue their efforts at keeping the Feffox population under control while IZS scientists work feverishly analyzing the Feffox sacs.

Congratulations to all the prize winners!

Jermaine Johansson: “We interrupt tonight’s broadcast of bla bla bla to bring you a shocking report on the developments at the CDF’s top-secret Egg Hatching Facility. CJ Weave joins us live from the scene. CJ?”

CJ Weave: “Th-thanks Jermaine. I am here... in what I was told would be the site of a modern day miracle, but what is now the scene of a massacre. Bodies everywhere. CDF soldiers... Scientists... Reporters...

The Egg hatched. The creature that emerged from the egg killed everyone in its path and escaped from the Hatching Facility. Xenobiologist Charles Marvin and Dr Wilson are missing, though their bodies were not found among the casualties.”

Jermaine Johansson: “Could you describe the creature for our viewers?”

CJ Weave: “I didn’t see it myself, but I heard it described as... uh... a Feffoid-like Atrox? Atroxoid Feffoid? Some of the surviving scientists were heard referring to the creature as the “Feffox”, but I’m not sure if there is a scientific basis for that or if it was just based on its peculiar appearance.”

Jermaine Johansson: “Right. Thank you, CJ.

One would imagine that a new, exotic creature would be a welcome sight for Calypso’s many hunters, but the situation is more dire than anyone could have expected.
The Feffox are reproducing and spreading at an alarming rate. Already, four different Feffox nests have been discovered on Eudoria.

The Governor has tasked the CDF with clearing out the Feffox nests and stopping the propagation of this dangerous new species. The Omegaton corporation was contracted to drill points of entry into the nests. CDF personnel were slaughtered to such an extent that the local revival systems briefly failed. Omegaton is happy to report that the new Omegaton Groundhog drill worked perfectly. “Omegaton - We build it, you use it.”

    ... What? I see. Alright.

It appears that the studio has received a transmission from the... Imperial Zoological Scouts. Yes. The Imperial Zoological Scouts have a... plan to stop the spread of the Feffox, but it will require the help of Calypso’s hunters.

Hunters who wish to volunteer for this mission should contact the IZS representative in Boreas. Due to the highly dangerous work involved, the IZS are offering some very valuable rewards in exchange for assistance in acquiring the samples required for their plan for the Feffox.

Wow! If only I still had my trusty old Opalo. And all of my limbs. Oh well. Full details on the plan are coming up right away. Happy hunting, Calypsians!”

    Feffox Mayhem Event Details

    Description
Four Feffox Nests have been located on the Eudoria continent, at the following locations:
    • Western Feffox Nest - 65905, 79456 (Low maturity)
    • Southern Feffox Nest - 74090, 67588 (Low-mid maturity)
    • Eastern Feffox Nest - 88283, 78559 (Mid-high maturity)
    • Northern Feffox Nest - 81269, 92576 (High maturity)

In an effort to try to limit the reproduction rate of the dangerous new species, IZS scientists require biological samples from the Feffox nests, primarily in the form of reproductive sacs.

A large number of such samples are required, and the following point reward system has been offered for those assisting in the retrieval of Feffox Sacs:
    • Rotten Feffox Sac (1 point)
    • Sickly Feffox Sac (5 points)
    • Damaged Feffox Sac (10 points)
    • Healthy Feffox Sac (20 points)
    • Mature Feffox Sac (50 points)
    • Fully Developed Feffox Sac (100 points)
    • Twin Feffox Sac (500 points)
    • Mutated Feffox Sac (1000 points)

Recovered Feffox Sacs should be submitted to the IZS representative located at Boreas Outpost (74364 x 67360, Eudoria).

    Event Times
    Monday April 15, 16:00:00 UTC - Sunday April 28, 23:59:59.

***VERY IMPORTANT*** Be sure to turn in any recovered Feffox Sacs to the mission NPC before the event ends! Any Sacs remaining after the event end time will not be including in your final event score.

    Rules & Notes
Each participant is limited to a maximum of 40 hours in the Feffox Nest event instances. This 40 hour limit applies to combined time in any of the Feffox Nest instances, not each individual nest. Event participants must keep track of their time spent in the event instances, since the current instance system unfortunately does not track time spent across multiple login/instance sessions.

This event is intended for solo hunters of all skill and gear levels. Any attempts at abusing team mechanics or any other Entropia Universe systems or features in order to gain an unfair advantage over other participants will be grounds for disqualification from the event, forfeiture of any prizes, and possible sanctions imposed on one’s Entropia Universe account.

Do not abandon the mission! If you abandon the mission for any reason, either intentionally or accidentally, all points earned up to that point will be lost forever. Support cannot and will not restore points for abandoned missions, regardless of the situation.

    Happy Hunting!
