Having just watched the movie "I am Legend" last night, walking away from the movie theatre it kind of made me think that i really do miss the Umbranoids.....:(

Would be great if MA could bring them back, if only for a one off event, for example, lets have an Umbranoid invasion of Hadeshiem....;)

Just a thought whilst drinking morning coffee.....:coffee:
 
I'm looking forward to new Umbranoid camps springing up everywhere, heralding a new dawn of advanced Umbrassaulters, aboard primitive vehicles, wielding devilish new weaponry and after our blood.... and only a little bit harder to kill than their predecessors.....

I have a feeling they were removed due to issues with the new avatar system (after all, they were based upon an avatar size/shape.

I suspect they will be back soon ;)
 
Don't have the time to search for it right now, but I'm pretty certain that somewhere in one of the note event meetings, it whs said when the umbranoids return, not if... So i guess they will spawn back in due time, most likely related with the orbs.

So was/is the the PVP 4 GD and they're still there... aswell as the Calamusoids.

calamusoids have their own mesh. (3d object)
umbranoids was just random avatars with a different "skin" texture.
And GD is.. well.. GD :)

I also eagerly await the return of the umbranoids!

i think the umbras are removed cause of they are part of the orb event... or maybe the orb event was an excuse for removing the umbras because they are remaking the umbras (maybe had some trouble with rendering after the avatar remake thingy) and they cant really get it right... that would explain why the orb event is so slow too :rolleyes:
 
i also hope their stats and difficulty are not altered if returned, they were a perfect skilling mob for me
 
The Umbras were removed temporarily, it said so in the VU update notes at the time. Who knows why...we can only guess.

I don't miss them much, they were backstabbers :rolleyes:

To put it simple, the Umbranoids were removed because, due to the new clothes and avatars, they became naked, which was a no-no if PE/EU would ever be available in Asia (China to be precise).
 
I always thought they removed them because they looked to much like humans, and running around killing naked humans might not be politically correct?

I think they will return in a more monster-like shape. :)
 
Lmao I also saw that movie last night and they reminded me of the umbras!

I think MA is gonna bring them back with improved textures.
 
If naked quasi-humans is wrong, what about the "well endowed" boorum males?

At least the Umbras were lacking a donkey-dong.

How a Boorum male managed to be a "fast running" mob, with that huge member flopping about, escapes me. :eek:

The first that struck me when the Umbranoids dissapeard was that they got removed cus MA couldnt handle remaking both the player and the Umbranoids so they included the Umbras in the note event to make some sense. So I guess they will come back when MA get their thumbs out of their ass and remake the models ;)

thats my thoughts..

btw I would love to see em again :D

from what I remember...umbarnoids were wearing clothes in old days...so whats the problem...I'm just angry, becouse all MA is doing wrong, they should give us umranoids back...what about Kerberos? let some players loot dna parts...create 6 dna parts or 12...and we have cool LA with Kerberos Stalkers
 
I suspected that it was a technical matter.

The disappearance of the Umbranoids might have been because the improved graphics triggered warnings in various anti-porn warning filters.

I miss them..

I didnt know what to hunt today, and thought.. it would of been nice having umbras.. i would go for them right now

lets hope that those nowhere floating balls having umbras waiting to pop outta nowhere.

Lol no:)

I dunno why Umbras were removed but i think most of the "complicated" mobs will be removed one after one for redesign.
