I thought I should finish a old wish I've had for some years, so this should be
seen as another alternative, not as something instead. :)
The thread is shortend thou' were a bit long fisrt. :D


Ingame Companies - Let them work! ;)

So, what do I mean with this? People has asked for quests,
and MA hasn't been too interested in this. Probably due to
they think EU should be as any other MMO(RPG).
So I thought, lets activate these companies, let players
have assigmnets and everyone will win on it. Companies
I'm talking about are Omegaton, Chikara and so on.
There are atm three different assigments I can see, that
we can get, first is to protect cities and other p.o.i against
different enemies. Second is for urban-pvp, and third is
for Disciples (and mentors too).
This could increase the funfactor some, and at the same time
give players different goals to achieve. So, here comes
some more info.

Basics first. These companies will have Security Divisions
that handles all dirty work. They hire mercenaries (players)
to do the really dirty work. ;)
So a player makes a contract and will work for the particular
company in different scenarios.

1.Protection services. These will defend cities against
different types of enemies. A player agree to a assignment
in a terminal, and can now start to fight. The player will
not get any loot until attack is over, or if he quit the
assigment in advance. This can be seen as a gigantic teamhunt. :D ;)
There could be a system so players get rare stuff in loot
that cant be bought elsewhere.

2.Urban pvpThe companies has officialy nothing against
each other, but unofficialy, there are fights. Once again
will the mercenaries work.
In certain urban pvp areas, we must be assigned to a company,
if not, we will not be able to enter area. This way there will
be no accidental kills, only players that are out for pvp
will be in area. When we enter a area like this, we will
see company name instead societyname (or freelancer) above
avatars. This system could allow pvp-loot, if we get loot
based on what the target has spent in their kills. There
will always be no-loots since there are always a avatar
that hasn't managed to kill any other. This could be solved
so it will not be abused. ;) I guess it could fit here:

3.Disciple assignments. I've had the idea that we
should have mentorterminals so it will be easier for newcomers
to find a mentor. And with this, disciples will get goals,
by getting jobs. When assigned for a job, lets say you
shall kill x amount of a certain mob, you either get loot
that is only able to get when having a assignment, or the
disciple get points. Either way, when player has gathered
up the right amount, it can be traded for a certain unique
tt0 item from company. I guess it's more fun if it's based
on the loot-alternative thou'. ;)
