I'm excited to announce a new community resource, still in beta phase:

www.EntropiaRadio.com

The default Windows Media Player applet on the webpage is temporary. More advanced and varied connection links will be provided on the EntropiaRadio.com website soon.

Also, an EntropiaForum radio player is available in the navigation bar at the top of every forum page, with the various EntropiaRadio stations preconfigured.

Members can select stations in the EF player as shown here:
picture.php

More stations will be added as more members wish to host radio shows.

One can also connect to the stream via other players such as Winamp by opening the following URL from your player of choice:

mms://www.entropiaradio.com/entropiaradio

This new community site will become a full-fledged internet radio (and video) station for Entropia Universe participants. Members of the community will be offered the opportunity to host their own radio shows, without having to worry about hosting, bandwidth or any of the technical issues related to internet broadcasting.

My hope is for EntropiaRadio.com to eventually host dozens of participant-created radio shows, such as:

Entropia News
Market Reports
Avatar Interviews
Talk Shows
Genre-specific music channels

I am still working out the details, and determining the best way to move forward with this project.

Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated.

In the meanwhile, I have some great house music playing 24/7, so listen in (and help me test the server performance)!!

Thanks!

P.S. Thanks to Jorael for the very cool site logo!

kewl =)

Great Job mate :yay: I will keep a close eye on this very exciting beta :)

Level, how did you solved the problem?

nice work :yay:
i like the website and the ide i great!

when u planing to start brodcasting the diffrent programs?

Applet is being blocked in firefox if you have adblock plus it seems. Or atleast i think it's adblock that blocks it.

I would suggest providing a link to be able to open it in winamp as mediaplayer suuuucks :)

Also not sure what server yoru using for it but i would suggest getting a shoutcast server instead if that's not what your using.

Cool project! Good luck with it!

hmmm when I try to start it it stops imediatly, in browser and in mediaplayer :scratch2:

EntropiaRadio.com is currently in beta testing phase.
that says to me!:D

Awesome Idear...:yay:

cant hear a thing tho....:scratch2:

:yay:

Good to see the project is up! im sure ill be using it, as im tired of listening to the same old musics i got in my PC...

:woot:

Cool - looking forward to the rest of this.

And nice artwork Jor as always :)

Not working for me either,
It starts & stops instantly.

Now if you can get it to work inside the game - i.e. we can change channels without needing to resort to windows - that would be really good

Will check when I get home :D

Awesome idea; I can't wait for the "final release".

same problem that vmax, drdoom etc. have is the problem im having

nothing appears in opera and clicking the button does zilch

in IE it just stops as others have found

can I ask what is wrong with shoutcast though? Why do we have to have WMP?

There you go again giving us exciting stuff ... super idea, and I'm certain that it will prove to be rather interesting. Thanks for your continued efforts to give us the best. :D However, it starts and immediately stops for me too. :(

Great idea, sounds very intersesting. Can't get it to work, though :scratch2:

Can this be a Vista issue...?
My OS is Vista and I had sound probs befor...

Miggo

Firefox will just freeze :S (Win XP)

i tried with firefox too; it did not freeze for me, but instead the java console showed this error:

The radio station is either switched off from the client side Or its droped its bandwidth

I am receiving an error message (when I click on Error Details):

"Windows Media Player cannot find the file..."

And Wist.. some of us actually like windows media player :D But if you look at the applet details you should be able to get the mms path, which is:

mms://www.entropiaradio.com/entropiaradio
