This was a request, so here is a chronological listing of the MA led events we have experienced. The EU website only goes back to NOV 05, so if there are other events I will look in other places to gather up the info. Enjoy!!

Professor Barton (or How We Got the Globster)

4 NOV 2005 - RDI Official Missing
One of the leading robot experts, Professor Niels Barton, from RDI is missing. While on a field assignment, Professor Barton went missing, and the rest of the team have no knowledge of his whereabouts. The Calypso Defense Force, Internal Security Section, are on the lookout and any information about Professor Barton is appreciated.
17 NOV 2005 - Breaking News
The disappearance of Professor Niels Barton has taken a dramatic new turn. A deep-cover source within the Calypso Defense Force, Internal Security Section, has recovered classified surveillance footage of the apparent abduction from a remote drone unit. We wish to warn viewers about the horrific images shown. What the robot forces want with Prof. Barton is still a mystery. Whether this case has anything to do with the Dr. Makasty situation has yet to be determined.
12 JAN 2006 - Professor Bartons Death Confirmed
After several attempts to revive the remains of Prof. Niels Barton, following a dazed and confused encounter with hostile robot forces, the Imperial Government had to face the fact that the brilliant scientist could not be restored. The robot forces had managed to infect Professor Barton with some kind of DNA/Soul-disruptor, probably a prototype made by the Professor himself, based on the design. The empire has lost one of its finest. On a stranger note, reports leaked from the rescue team state that when Barton was recovered, he was missing several body parts which have still not been accounted for.

30 JAN 2006 - Atrox Herds Sighted
Imperial Zoological Scouts have reported that large Atrox herds are massing at different locations all over Calypso. Pheromone sensors have picked up high concentrations with readings going off the scale in certain areas. This situation will of course be monitored in future reports from the Entropia Broadcast Network.

3 MAR 2006 - Argonaut Threat Detected
Imperial Scout units have found several Argonaut gatherings at new locations all over Amethera not normally associated with species presence. The large groups appear to form for a short while, before they scatter. The gatherings seems coincide with very mineral rich areas and Imperial Forward Observers have shown proof that certain Argonaut individuals are carrying large quantities of ore and energy matter, extracted by the gathering party.
The CDF urges the colonists of Calypso to take precautions and do not approach the aggressive native beings unless prepared for a fierce confrontation where the outcome may prove fatal. There is still no indication why the Argonaut population is performing in this strange fashion.

14 MAR 2006 - Robot Mobilization!
The Imperial Government today issued a warning to all colonists on Calypso. Agents from the Intelligence Services have reported huge robot forces assembling around the Akbal-Cimi systems. The reports include information about new models utilizing new technologies that allow greater numbers to be teleported to Calypso. The Imperial Government urges all citizens to be extra vigilant when traveling outside the protected outposts on Calypso. Try to move in groups where possible and never travel unarmed. Together again we must face an increased robot threat and secure mankind's future on Calypso.
25 MAR 2006 - Robot Threat Advances
The brave Calypso colonists have reported that a new robot menace has been spotted on the battlefield. Several Drone Elite Units were seen on Amethera, around the Wolverine area. Initial analysis of the wreckage shows a highly sophisticated communication matrix. The problem is that all units have so far been destroyed by the intense combat, but RDI is anxious to get ahold of the new technology, if possible.
28 MAR 2006 - Robots Besiege Caylpso
Reports are flooding in to the EBN Offices from intense robot battles being waged at Wolverine Hope. The battle weary colonists trying to hold the position have requested immediate assistance but it seems no relief is in sight. Unofficial Government reactions seem to suggest that parts of Amethera are now considered 'lost'. Further concern has been voiced for Nate Valley, where a considerable robot force also seems to be gathering. An even more disturbing report also suggests a massive build up of lesser generation robots around the highly populated Fort Ithaca. Miners fleeing back to the outpost have reported encountering killer robot squads murdering mineral and enmatter prospectors, and thereby exerting a choke hold on business and trade at the outpost. Nervous Government Officials haven't ruled out the use of weapons of mass destruction if the colonists themselves can't repel the mechanical invaders. A department secretary informed us, 'The robots must not be allowed to gain a foothold around Fort Ithaca. Although such weapons would only be used as a last resort, the loss of Fort Ithaca would be a devastating blow to Calypsos colonization.'
31 MAR 2006 - Robot Strength Increasing
EBN is saddened to report that the robot chokehold on Calypso is growing tighter. Relentless waves of massive robot forces continue to attack human outposts, especially Fort Ithaca, which appears to be their main focus of aggression. Imperial recon units have now also reported robot troop buildups in the area around Fort Troy and Camp Echidna, a major assault being immanent. Up to now we've observed attack forces mostly made up of drones, but more and more numbers of Warrior and Trooper class robots are now being reported. Even the dreaded Warlocks have been spotted. An eerie sense of coordination seems to be a new element in this attack.
RDI, the Research Defense Institute, are tightlipped about the desperate situation, but say the colonists have at least found one piece of rare robot technology. Speculation around the supposed finding of the late Professor Barton is also being kept a secret, while colonists once again are left suffering the extreme and reckless violence. Sources within the Government say they are 'worried' about the heavy usage of the revival terminals on Calypso and that this widespread practice may result in power drains or, in the worst case scenario, a collapse of the entire revival system backbone due to the stress. EBN will follow these developments closely and keep the citizens of Calypso informed.
6 APR 2006 - Robots Overwhelming Calypso!
The situation is dire! EBN reporters have been slain. Robots are everywhere! Commander droids spotted! RDI are pleading with colonists to stand firm! Any rare items found can be exchanged for rewards in the near future. RDI needs the rare items to support this last stand on Calypso. This is not the end, it can't be...
10 APR 2006 - The Upper Hand?
The last several days have witnessed severe and gruesome fighting all over Calypso. The machine menace has pushed forward to the Jason Center, Atlas Haven and Fort Argus areas. Colonist casualties have been enormous. The Revival Terminal backbone has had extra power rerouted from other vital community systems in order to keep up with the large amount of deaths and resurrections. Alarmingly, the robots have used Calypso's own teleporter system in order to gain access to the settlements - a deadly ploy observed only once before when the robots were hunting Professor Niels Barton. It seems now, that they were only testing whether that chink in our armor could be exploited later in this full scale attack. If the mechanical forces have hacked into the Imperial Teleportation Grid, something must be done immediately. Several Teleporters have already been considered lost to these marauding forces. The brave Calypso colonists have valiantly defended the outposts with courage in their hearts, destroying tides of mechanized hordes pushing towards them - one vicious assault wave after another. RDI seems pleased however, about rare and secret robot technology found by several colonists. Could this be part of Imperial plans to turn the robots technology against them? Could this be the final attack of the hostile bots? Could this be fulfillment of Project Entropia?
10 MAY 2006 - Celebration as Calypso Rejoices
Finally, after bloody resistance to the final horrendous onslaught of machine forces, the threatening robot offensive has diminished. Not being completely wiped out however, the machines are being kept at bay by the brave and resilient colonists. The named robot Warlock, Lord Telleton, withdrew from combat once enough of the secret transmitters had been found by mankind. With the new technology in RDI hands, the colonists of Calypso have gained a foothold on Calypso that the robots will have to fight hard to get back.
RDI is interested in coming in contact with parties who have recovered the rare secret robot transmitters and are offering a special item to those who turn the transmitter over. The RDI official Trob Tedser will be available at Fort Ithaca on the 13th of May at 21:00 MA Time (UTC). Although this is a gigantic step forward for securing the new world, the robot menace is not yet forgotten. They may have lost the battle, but the war is yet to be won.

THE SAGA OF THE ATROX EGG

8 JUN 2006 - Atrox Alarm
Fort Ithaca is again in the news this week, following the brutal mauling of colonist SirAttack by an Atrox Marauder on the southern outskirts of the settlement last week. With abnormally high pheromone readings reported by Zoological Scouts earlier this year, we asked Professor Nus Magsun from the Zoological Institute if there was any explanation to the sudden appearance of these fierce new beasts. "The Atrox", explained the Professor "is a truly fascinating animal. While Marauders are a rare sight, I believe they are an excellent indication of the status of the herd's reproductive cycle. Shortly after I arrived on Calypso", he continued "I was lucky enough to be on an expedition in the area just west of where Fort Argus stands today. We had encountered Alphas and Dominants all over the continent for many years, but suddenly we began noticing new larger and more aggressive Atroxes like the Marauders. This was to lead us to one of the greatest discoveries about the Atrox species..." EBN has contacted all the local authorities on Calypso after this alarming report, and urges all colonists to be on the lookout for these diabolical fore bearers.
10 JUN 08 - The Bitch is Back
Following last weeks disturbing news of increased Atrox activity in the northern reaches of Eudoria, and reports of commotion from Fort Ithaca as we speak, EBN feel compelled to reveal the second part of our interview with Prof. Nus Magsun. Shedding light on previously unknown behaviors of the Atrox species, the Professor continued: "We set out to discover what could have lain behind the surprising appearance of these more aggressive strains of Atrox. As we crossed the mountain range east of the Rogue Plains, we caught sight of the mighty Atrox Queen - a monstrous creature, bigger than anything ever seen. Protected by feral Marauders, we observed the Queen laying one huge egg and a clutch of smaller ones around it. These lesser embryos hatched quickly to form a merciless defensive pack around the Queen and her main egg. The large egg was left to incubate under the Calypsian sun, absorbing radiation that would mutate its genome and spawn a more savage breed of Atrox. This level of evolution in just one generation was completely unprecedented." It would seem that while the Atrox reproductive cycle is several years in length, its results can be devastating for the natural areas it inhabits, restricting access for other animals and colonists alike. We can only hope that our hardiest hunters can pick up a trail on this Queen and her pack, destroy the egg they protect, and spare Calypso and it's colonists from an even deadlier wilderness.
15 JUN 2006 - Crowning Glory
The continuous appearance of large Atrox herds on the northern plains of Eudoria suggests that the Atrox reproductive cycle is reaching its climax. According to our learned source at the Zoological Institute, we may expect to see hatchlings very soon - a sure sign that the mighty Queen herself is close by and ready to come out and lay her egg. EBN eagerly awaits the first reports and pictures from the field, and with such large herds of younger and older Atrox hope that Calypso's colonists, old and new, will dust off their Justifiers, take the trail northwards and be part of this adventure.
20 JUN 2006 - Long Live the Desert Rangers
Together with colonists from all over Calyspo, the Atrox Queen was found and destroyed by the Desert Rangers. Although heavy casualties were suffered, the hardy colonist band was upbeat as they peppered the beefy brute into oblivion. Paolo made a video of the hunt which is available here. Mossemeez provided us with an on-the-scene report of the Queens demise, informing us that skinning the monster Queen gave very little hide, as her skin had been too badly damaged during the hunt. She did however manage to chew up a few brave colonists before her death, and gutting the creature later revealed several armor pieces including a rare female Shadow helmet. Several wallets were also found in the Queens stomach, with over 100 PEDs being recovered. What was not found however, was the egg, and until we know for sure that the egg has been found and destroyed we cannot rest. The egg may be lying out there, incubating under Calypso's sun, getting ready to unleash a new breed of Atrox on Calypso.
7 JUL 2006 - Holy Hunkies!
Just when we were starting to feel safe, our worst fears seem to have been realised as we see a group of delighted Feffoids dancing around what appears to be the Atrox Queen's Egg!! Obviously the Feffoids got their hands on the egg while our brave colonists were fighting off the Queen. We always knew the Feffoids weren't our greatest friends, but now we know that they're out to make life as hard as possible for us. Are we going to let the dim witted Feffoids try to raise a new pet? Is there anybody out there ready to find the camp and destroy the egg?
25 JUL 2006 - Orbital Omelette?
News of Tzest0s's discovery of the Atrox Egg on a slain Feffoid Warlord has finally reached EBN headquarters. In an effort to find out what best to do with the egg, EBN once again sought the council of Prof. Nus Magsun, only to find no trace of the Professor anywhere. Friends and colleagues are mystified at the Professor's disappearance and a region-wide search has been initiated around New Oxford, where the Professor is said to have kept an apartment. In a further bizarre twist, it seems the shrewd Tzest0s harbored the egg in his apartment and storage before finally selling it to night club mogul NeverDie for 100,000 PED. The famed egg now constitutes a kooky sideshow for revelers at NeverDie's astral night spot. With so little information available, and its only possible source missing, we have little idea what to expect from the egg. A Science Team has been dispatched to the Asteroid juke joint to take a small test sample of the egg for further analysis. We all eagerly await their results in the coming weeks and wonder how this egg might affect the course of events on Calypso.

EOMON MIGRATION 2006

29 SEP 2006 - Eomon-ous!!!
Reports have just arrived to the EBN offices claiming sightings of the rarely seen Eomon creature south-east of Twin Peaks. The massive herbivore is one of the largest creatures ever seen on Calypso and an attraction that usually draws crowds of interested colonists. Usually thought of as a solitary animal, the reports claim herds of ten or more animals grazing in the area. It must be quite the spectacle.
2 OCT 2006 - Migration
Continued Eomon sightings over the weekend again prompted EBN to seek council with Prof. Nus Magsun from the Zoological Institute. Unfortunately the institute haven't heard from the professor since July this year and reports of the professors whereabouts from the society at large haven't materialized. What we could ascertain from available documents at the Zoological Institute was that this Eomon migration is in fact an annual occurence with large herds wandering across Eudoria to the crater north of Camp Echidna. Where they spend the rest of the year is still a mystery, but surely has something to do with the crater. One of the more interesting facts discovered, concerned the high pheromone content of Eomon dung, which increases the maturity levels of other creatures around them. With herds of this size there's sure to be a stinking trail behind them. EBN hope to have some interesting pictures and reports available during the week as we follows the herds movements across Eudoria.
6 OCT 2006 - Showdown at Echidna
The annual Eomon migration is reaching its climax in and around the crater north of Camp Echidna. After their week-long migration from Twin Peaks, Calypso's finest have gathered to hunt these six legged titans. The rich Eomon dung has attracted a wide range of mature beasts once thought extinct on the Eudoria continent, and the chaotic scene can be quite humbling as some of Calypso's toughest hunters are trodden on by the massive Eomon. Inside the crater, groups of colonists are already gathering for a woodstock weekend to the sound of woots, faps, lazer fire and free dung. Don't miss your last chance this weekend to see the largest creature on Calypso!
9 OCT 2006 - Parting is Such Sweet Eomon
As the final group make their way into the crater at Echidna, Calypso bids farewell for now to the mighty Eomon. After an exciting week following the herds journey north from Twin Peaks, many colonists have now shared a rare experience in hunting these massive creatures. Challenging for even Calypso's best hunters, the Eomon migration drew large crowds of spectators and is sure to do so again.

3 NOV 2006 - Cultural Calamity
Following recent excavations under the Hjorten building in New Oxford, Calypsian residents have been shocked by a report from colonist Renlar Benos of a rather well endowed mutant species bungling around the nether regions of our cultural capital. "It just won't do!" said Cuggly Barl, minister for culture on Calypso. "What will the neighbours think?". Well, we're not sure what the neighbours will think, but we sure are wondering what our hunters will make of these brutes following recent organ oil finds from other creatures on fair Calypso. It seems a thorough investigation of the report is necessary and EBN will be heading over to New Oxford this weekend to find out more. We must recommend sensitive and underage colonists to avoid New Oxford this weekend until this moral spill has been cleaned up. Why not head south of Cape Corinth where increased Sabakuma activity is being reported?

FEFFOID INVASION AT FORT FURY

23 FEB 2007 - The March on Fury
After their botched attempt to trounce Fort Fury, humiliated Feffoid stragglers withdrew to lick their wounds. Despite the Clan Warlords' attempts to unify Feffoid Clans against their common enemy, Calypso's champions renounced their bid for domination, and sent them running with the fear of Lootius. Now, while governor Dumpty tries to patch together his fort, rumors arrive of a new Feffoid force building in their camp east of Hadesheim. New roars and rumblings are being reported, suggesting the Feffoids have new courage, new power and a new will to show you how to spell fury! "Ffs! Not again.", says the governor, "I'm off." There's something strange afoot. We wonder what it will look like....

7 JUN 2007 - Urgent, The Infiltrators
The EBN space station in Calypso's orbit has just a moment ago intercepted of a sub-space signal directed at robot forces on Calypso. Although largely undecipherable, the message seems to contain some code and sets of coordinates on Calypso's surface:

The entire message has been passed on to officials at RDI for any assistance they may be able to offer. With recent discoveries of enormous Mining Bots in northern Amethera, we're not quite ready what to expect, but it's sure to be dangerous. In the mean time EBN are putting a team together to investigate possible sites and hope to be supported by some of Calypso's toughest warriors.
17 JUL 2007 - The Animal Kingdom
RDI's observatory on the EBN space station now reports three giant migrations beginning on the Eudoria continent. A swelling in numbers is now being observed south of Cape Corinth, east of Port Atlantis and south-east of Twin Peaks. The three locations would seem to suggest something for every level of colonist hunter. With all the commotion of recent attempts to take over settlements, the appearance of mysterious Rx Units, Mining Bots and more, the only conclusion we can make is that there are surely valuable resources to be found and a surprise or two in store.
18 JUL 2007 - Ouch!
Apparently EBN and Calypso's colonists weren't the only ones to notice the beginning of three large migrations on Eudoria last night. Suspecting our brave warriors were busy elsewhere, a devastating robot force from Akbal-Cimi descended on one of Calypso's most coveted resources - the oil rig. Rarely seen Big Bulks and Warlocks gave our boys and girls hell before completely taking over the rig shortly before 22:00 UTC. The rig remains under robot control. Amongst the chaos and splinters, Eomons, Armax and Exarosaurs began their long trek to pastures in north-east Eudoria. EBN will be following them all week and into the weekend as we wait and see what other surprises are in store.
23 JUL 2007 - Associate Relations
This year's migration sees three species of herbivores now gathered in and around Echidna crater. Whilst our four legged friends munch away in the juicy pastures, scientists from RDI are making there way there to record and examine any phenomenon that may occur during this final evening. The crater seems to be a huge sensual nexus, emitting electromagnetic pulses out across the Eudorian landscape; hypnotic throbbings that attract the entire animal kingdom to come and visit this ancient bosom...
23 JUL 2007 - Sunset
After the Echidna crater was visited by many different members of Calypso's wildlife, it seems that the herds are now stabilizing. Eomons continue to dominate the crater, large longtooth Exarosaurs and mature Armax are still gathered around the craters sides, as Calypso's sun begins to set on the yearly migration. So join the hunters in Echidna crater and see one of Calypso's rarest creatures before the sun rises tomorrow.

24 NOV 2007 - Blackness
The recent appearance of a large black orb west of Minopolis appears to have left Calypso's Official Institutions at a complete loss. Not a single word has been issued to explain the mysterious phenomenon or reassure Calypso's population.Are we experiencing a rift in the space-time continuum? Why are Argonauts so attracted to this object and do they or the orb itself pose a potential health risk? The questions are endless, and as the official news reporting organization, EBN demand that our Imperial Institutions examine this object and report their findings to us the population of Calypso, to us who live and invest in a future on Calypso. We need these answers today, not tomorrow. Tomorrow could be too late.

MERRY MAYHEM

20 DEC 2007 - Merry Mayhem - UPDATED
Join the Christmas carnage and compete for a pristine land area south of the scenic New Switzerland. Help the Imperial Government to cull Atrox and Exarosaur herds, and thwart the smuggling Mulaak'f by wiping out as many as possible between Friday December 21 18:00 UTC and January 1 00:00 UTC. The Government will award 1 point for every Exarosaur killed, 3 points for every Atrox, and 10 points for every Mulaak'f put into an irreversible coma. These points will be awarded regardless of maturity or location on Calypso. The fierce colonist to have accumulated most points by Jan. 1 00:00 UTC will receive the new land area on Amethera. The second prize winner will receive a complete Shadow Armor Set, and the third prize winner will receive a large amount of raw materials, with a Trade Terminal value of 10000 PED, for the new Make Up and Material Customization systems.
Rules
For health reasons, participants in the Merry Mayhem event may only spend a maximum of six hours logged onto Entropia Universe during every 24 hour period for the duration of the event. The 24 hour periods start from Friday Dec. 21 18:00 UTC. Participants that exceed this limit will be disqualified. It is up to participants to keep track of their time online. We also recommend that participants do not play for six hours straight, but take regular breaks with physical exercise or activity, food and refreshments during each session. Creatures killed by teams will not generate points. Club NeverDie hunting domes are included.
2 JAN 2008 - Merry Mayhem Best Hunters
Government Officials have now compiled their report. It includes only the top 2000 rankings, but the government greatly appreciate the efforts of the multitude of other hunters that helped this cause. N.B. The time limit was only checked against the top three positions. Once again, the top three hunters with the most impressive skills in culling Calypso's wild herds were:

LANDGRAB 2008

28 JAN 2008 - Land Ahoy Me Hearties!
Get ready for battle maties - the 2008 Land Grab is coming during February (exact date to follow). Several land areas on Amethera are up for grabs! Land areas vary in size and you should prepare for heavy battle because if the monsters and robots don't get you, your fellow colonists will! The stakes are high. As the owner of a piece of land, a society will be able to collect a fee from any hunter or miner active on their land. The fees may be set individually, between 0 and 10%, according to the will of the owning society. All revenue generated from the society-owned land will automatically be distributed between the society members.
The preliminary rules and regulations of the land grab:
1. Any designated land grab area can be claimed by any functioning, non-pending, society. (Note that it takes seven days go get a society into a qualified state).
2. Any person within a society can claim a piece of land in the name of the whole society. The land is claimed by finding a 'claim stake' for a certain piece of land. Click on the stake and follow the instructions presented.
3. The land has to be successfully defended for four consecutive hours before the ownership of the land is turned over to the society for a period of six months.
4. Defence of the land is achieved in the following manner: At least one member of the society will have to be alive and present within a radius of 30 meters from the claim stake at all times from when the land is claimed until the full time period has elapsed. If all Society members have exited the radius, the stake will emit a warning signal (sound and light) for a limited period of time. This is a short grace period of app. 30 seconds, during which any living society member has to get inside the radius; else the claim for the land will be lost. This enables another society, or the same society for that matter, to take new ownership of the land claiming process.
5. Anyone killed within a certain range from the claim stake during the land grab will be out of commission for five minutes before the revival process is initiated. The only way to speed this process is to be resurrected using MindForce.
6. A single society may only have one piece of land within a claiming process at a time.
7. Pets are not allowed on the Land Grab land areas during the event.

19 FEB 2008 - Land Grab Warm-Up
The 2008 Land Grab is approaching. Before the main event kicks off, we'll test the procedure with a lesser event on two land areas: Amethera LA4 and Amethera LA18. This event will start at 12:30 UTC on Feb. 13. Both land areas will be up for grabs at the same time with the complete rules that will apply to the main Land Grab event (see previous news article 'Land Ahoy Me Hearties' for rules). Performance will be monitored in order to ensure that the main event works smoothly. The winning societies will be awarded the land areas. The winning societies were:

20 FEB 2008 - Land Grab 2008
The main Land Grab for 2008 is now ready to begin. It will be divided into two events. On Wednesday Feb. 27 at 17:00 UTC seven Ametheran land areas (LA1, 2, 3, 8, 14, 16, 19) will be up for grabs. On Saturday March 8 ten more Ametheran land areas will be available. The exact time of this event will be announced later and will be scheduled to best suit time zones outside Europe. For these events, the death penalty will be increased to 5 minutes. The original 'Land Ahoy Me Hearties' news post has been updated with all current rules. Good luck to all of Calypso's societies.
28 FEB 2008 - Land Grab 2008 Winners - First Event
Battle raged throughout Amethera yesterday, as Calypso's toughest societies brawled for control of seven seperate Land Areas. Culminating in an epic struggle for LA 19, the victors were:

Elite RX Robot Units have been spotted in the PvP 3 and PvP 4 areas. Believing the crack robot force is out to destabilize Calypso's infrastructure, the government have placed a bounty on these mechanical pests. 4 APR 08 - Rx Communication Intercept
A coded Rx communication was intercepted today revealing that a squad of Rx units is on their way to Calypso and will arrive at 13:00 UTC. Their mission is to take control of the oil rig in PvP2 and deprive colonists of its resources. Once again the government has placed bounties on these attackers from Akbal Cimi and a government official 'MindArk Official 08' will be in Twin Peaks to reward each colonist who inflicts a kill shot on one of the robots.
29 APR 08 - Rx Blight Continues
Based on information retrieved from a Mulaak'f camp, security forces expect another wave of Rx Units to arrive on Calypso at 07:30 UTC tomorrow. This time splitting into two groups, the toughest Rx battle Units will again attempt to take the oil rig in PvP2, while a lesser surveying group will attempt to scan PvP1 for a suitable base site. Colonists with health levels below 150(weak) are requested to take the group in PVP1 and colonists with health above 150(medium+) to take the group in PVP2. At Orthos West Mound, the government will pay bounties to colonists who can claim kill shots on these units. Government Rep. 'Mindark Official 08' will scan colonist's health levels to ensure they made their kills in the correct zones in order to qualify for the bounty.
13 JUN 2008 - Rx Troop Landing
Rx troops have just been spotted arriving at their base in PvP 1. The landing party seem to be on a reconnaissance mission in the area. Caution is advised to all colonists.
11 AUG 2008 - Operation Relay
At 19:00 UTC on Wednesday, August the 13th, an undercover agent that has infiltrated the ranks of the Rx Units will attempt to pass advanced Rx technology over to colonist militia. Based on a unique electrolyte compound, the technology greatly enhances the firepower of almost any weapon. Our government agent requests colonist militia protection from Rx Units while he tries to pass the technology to the colonist that reaches him at the Rx Base in PvP1. Kill shots on Rx Units will be rewarded at Twin Peaks and one colonist will escape with a weapon utilizing the new technology.

11 JUN 2008 - Guide Events Information
On Friday the 13th of June the official guides will host a teleporter run. This means we will take new participants to new teleporters. Everybody is welcome to join us, and as always it is a good opportunity to get to know new people. We need all the help we can get since it may be a dangerous trip. We will meet at the arrival zone in Port Atlantis at 15:00 UTC (press default key U in game) and head out for Neas Place, a popular location for sweat gathering. So if you're a newcomer this is a good chance. We will also host two PvP events at Zychion Citadel on Sunday the 15th of June. Anyone can join and it is for free. Check the event organizer for further details and speak with Simon or Emma in-world for tickets. We have also uploaded a new special event in the Information Centre (the guide house in the arrival zone in Port Atlantis). Check the screen inside the event room for further info. Everyone can take part in this event, which is suitable for disciples together with their mentors.

Teleporter Run
We would also like to inform you about an upcoming teleporter run on Monday 6/10. We start from Billys Spaceship 18:00 UTC. This is a good opportunity for newcomers to gather new teleporters but there will also be time for some hunting. We are hoping to awaken a really big snake. The plan is to end at Cape Corinth.
20 OCT 2008 - Guide Screenshot Event
We were really inspired during our most recent teleporter run. After reaching our final destination Cape Corinth, we gathered all the survivors for a screenshot. It was nice to see so many people in one frame. Therefore we will organize a huge screenshot event at Cape Corinth on Sunday Oct. 26 2008 at 17:00 UTC. The idea is that we will try to get as many people as possible in one shot and make everybody stand in the formation of a square. Bring a friend and show up. Everybody can join!

4 NOV 2008 - Competition Info
Interested in winning tickets to see the Motörhead show in Sweden on December 10th? As well as the tickets you'll receive VIP entrance to the private after party, hotel accommodation, and signed copies of Motörhead's latest album Motörizer. There will be ten opportunities (divided in four categories) to win Motörhead VIP invitation packages. Each winner will get an invitation package for two people (Travel tickets are excluded).
The first two events are for newcomers with agility 20 or below. 2 winners.
The second opportunity will involve hunting. It will be divided into three events based on attribute health skills. 6 winners, two in each health skill level.
The third event involves some thinking and moving across vast areas. This is open for everyone. 1 winner.
The last event is open for everybody but it will probably attract heavy armored participants. 1 winner.
More information on all these events will soon be available. Exact dates for each event will be posted in the client loader at least 2 days before the event starts, as well as in the Guide Building in Port Atlantis.
The avatars that carry the virtual tickets in their inventory on the 3rd of December will be contacted by MindArk with further details.

On 8th November 2008 two events will be arranged for participants with agility 20 or below where it will be possible to win two Motörhead invitation packages. Avatars are allowed to participate in both events, but can only be a winner once. No equipment will be needed.

On November 14th six hunting events will be arranged, two events for each health skill attribute. The health skill attributes are: tough +, medium and weak. All equipment permitted in all of the events. Health level requirements must be met at the start of the event. The event ticket is personal and cannot be transferred to anybody else. Inform Emma or Simon if you are not able to participate in the event in order to give somebody else the chance. More info about the rules etc. can be found at each of the land markers. The tickets for the events will be released on Wednesday 12th November at 19:00 UTC. First come, first served. The first three events start on Friday 14th November 2008 at 20:00 UTC. The last three events start on Friday 14th November 2008 at 23:30 UTC.

22 Nov 2008 - Runaround Man
There are five screens placed in five different places at Amethera. It is your mission to find these in order to get a hold of the last Motörhead invitation package. You must find them all and solve the quiz. Each screen will contain three things. 1. A red word in the upper right corner. 2. A question in the middle of the screen. 3. A hint on where to find the next screen. The 5th screen will contain information on how to proceed to the goal. The first avatar who reaches the goal with the accurate information will become the winner of a Motörhead invitation package. You don't have to find the screens in any given order, just find them all. But due to the fact that each screen carry a hint on where the following screen is located it will probably be easier to run from screen 1-5 in a numerological order. The first screen is located far up in the north-west, close to a teleporter. The event starts now!

RDI detectors located throughout Calypso have begun to detect trace amounts of the famous Eomon pheromone. Long overdue their annual migrations to the Echidna crater, the mighty Eomon were last seen during July of last year. Speculation has abounded as to their whereabouts, with many fearing we had seen the last of Calypso's gargantuan herbivore. Today's pheromone readings would now seem to suggest otherwise. Colonists, sharpen your knives! We're having Eomon for dinner.

28 Nov 2008 - Under The Radar
Yesterday the colony was shocked to discover Robots pouring through the calypso teleporter system. The last time this tactic was used was during the massive Robot Invasion of our world several years back.
The waves were sporadic but still caused alarm as city traders were forced to reach for their holsters while peacefully peddling their wares at outpost marketplaces.
A number of fine merchants were blasted by the brazen beamers as they rampaged through our streets last night. Governor Dumpty of Fort Fury denounced all authority on Calypso calling it "a disgrace" that the robots could gain access to the teleport system, adding "well done everybody that fought off last night's attacks, but this was obviously a recon operation by the coordinators, so we better brace ourselves for the main onslaught."
Calypso Defence Force's high commander Major Jenny Carramone has not yet issued any statement on the attacks.

2 Dec 2008 - CDF Official Broadcast
This is an official Calypso Defense Forces broadcast. There is a heightened state of alert in Wolverine Hope and Nate Valley on Amethera, and Fort Ithaca, Fort Troy, Zychion and Hadesheim on Eudoria.
Please make sure you have supplies and survival gear stocked. Restrict outdoor movement as much as possible; try to remain indoors. Please cooperate with Imperial forces and follow their instructions.
Repeat: there is a heightened state of alert in Wolverine Hope, Nate Valley, Fort Ithaca, Fort Troy, Zychion and Hadesheim. An evacuation order might be issued for these areas. This automated broadcast will be repeated every two hours.

2 Dec 2008 - EBN - Negotiations a Stall For Time
Calypsian authorities have entered negotiations with representatives from the robot forces. Sources within CDF indicate that the negotiations are designed to stall for time in order for Earth to send reinforcements to Calypso. There has been no confirmation on this from CDF High Command.

04 Dec 2008 - Separatists Negotiating With Robots
A self-proclaimed group vying for independence of Calypso has entered the negotiations with the robots. The hitherto unknown group, called the "Provisional Government of Calypso", has issued the following statement:
"This is the Provisional Government of Calypso. The Provisional Government is negotiating with the robots and Calypso Defense Forces to ensure our planet's independence. We will soon be free from Imperial rule!"
CDF authorities confirm that the group exist and has entered the negotiations, but will not give any details at present time.

5 Dec 2008 - 3 For 1 Skill Bonus
The 3 for 1 skill bonus will be activated today, December 5 at 11:00 UTC and remain in effect until December 22 at 11:00 UTC. Every participant will receive 3 times the normal amount of skill experience gains during this period. The bonus will be in effect for all professions, during all activities throughout planet Calypso, Crystal Palace and Club Neverdie for this period.

5 Dec 2008 - EBN: Robot codes cracked
For the last week, the robots have used the Calypso emergency broadcast system to piggy-back their own sinister messages. Of course, the messages themselves were encrypted. Thanks to a valiant effort by a community of code-breakers, the robot codes have been cracked, even as the robots switched communications protocol to make decryption harder.
"We owe these clever people a great deal", Major Jenny Carramone says. "They've cracked the code and given the CDF a peek inside the minds of the robots that have been invaluable to us. I would like to express my gratitude to each and everyone of them. They may very well have won the war."
However, Major Carramone still has concerns about cracking the code on a public forum. "They know that we know" she says, "and the code has evolved all the time. I fear that pretty soon, we won't be able to read it."

5 Dec 2008 - Declaration of State of Emergency
For the last days, robot motherships have threatened several of our cities. We have requested help and stalled for time for Earth to come to our aid. However, the Federal Imperial government has responded that we can't expect any help from Earth. We're on our own. Because of that, and in response to the robot attacks on Calypso, I am declaring a state of emergency. Effective immediately, I am personally in command of all Calypsian civilian and military agencies. All citizens bearing arms should report to duty stations immediately. Crafters and miners will be needed for the manufacture of weapons, ammunition, provisions and supplies. Anyone found knowingly or unknowingly supporting the robot hostilities or any separatist tendencies will be dealt with accordingly. This state of emergency will be enforced for the duration of the robot attacks. Questions about this declaration should be directed to Defense Forces personnel or to my office.

09 Dec 2008 - EBN: PGC leaders arrested
Today, CDF announced that the disturbances in the teleport system on Friday night that caused so much grievance in Hadesheim Central, initially believed to be the result of robot intrusion in the teleporters' computer system, was actually an act of terrorism. The alleged perpetrator, the former mercenary Thomas Hatchett, have multiple ties with leading members of the "Provisional Government of Calypso". On Major Carramone's orders, CDF forces raided several locations in Atlas Haven, Hadesheim East, Fort Fury and Fort Argus, arresting most known leading members of PGC. Among the arrested individuals are its "acting prime minister" Alexandra DeWinter as well as well-known Governor Dumpty. The prime suspect, Thomas Hatchett, is still at large. Major Carramone refused to give any comments.

9 DEC 2008 - EBN: RDI Searching for New Robot Technology
As the robots have evolved into the new forms that have plagued our colony, RDI is very interested in learning the exact form of the latest step in robot evolution. In order to understand the robots, RDI need salvaged parts from the robot invaders to analyze.
"[The robots] have to have a plan somewhere; it's just a matter of finding it and decoding it", says an analyst for RDI. "The robots don't take a dump without being programmed to. Actually, they don't take a dump at all, but you get the point."
Specifically, RDI needs the following items:

10 Dec 2008 - EBN Editorial: State of Emergency Prelude to Coup?
As the state of emergency moves into its second week, there's no denying the courage of the Calypsian troops or the danger of invading forces. But what exactly is Major Carramone up to? Reports to EBN state that CDF troops have raided civilian targets, rather than engaging the robot enemy.
Concerns have been raised that since the damage of the robot invasion is fairly limited to half a dozen cities and outposts, it is merely used as an excuse to remove certain "troublesome individuals" that might prevent a move for power. The Calypso Defense Forces also have visited EBN offices, "requesting" a more restrictive reporting on troop movements, backing the "request" with Major Carramone's extraordinary self-imposed emergency powers.
These are troubling signs. If our worst fears are true, they may very well be the first steps of a coup-d'etat. As Earth has refused to send reinforcements, there's no rivalry of the control of CDF. With CDF firmly in her control, all that Major Carramone have to do is to remove the elected and Earth-appointed officials on Calypso. Then the coup would be a fact.
Is there anything we can do that can stop this? Yes, there is: don't let your guard down! Speak your mind! Do not let the powers that be forget that it is through your consent that they are the powers that be!

11 Dec 2008 - CDF: Enemies regrouping

In the last few hours, the robot enemy seems to have disappeared from the battlefield. CDF believe this to be due to tactical movement in preparation for a new attack phase. Increased signals activity seems to support this conclusion.
This is not a time to relax! Use the brief breathing space to your advantage. Stock supplies and ammunition and care for your weapons. Keep your eyes open!

11 Dec 2008 - CDF: Robots blitzing Eudoria

12 Dec 2008 - CDF: RDI Award ceremony

RDI is pleased to announce that the search program for robot parts is successfully initiated. Thanks to the help of vigilant community members, RDI will get a chance to analyze robot evolution.
The award ceremony will take place in RDI headquarters in Port Atlantis on Sunday December 28th at 8pm MA time. Anyone that can deliver a complete sample set of 21 parts at the ceremony will be awarded a full set of Protector of the Empire armor.
CDF intelligence indicates that there are still parts to be found on Calypso.

16 Dec 2008 - CDF: Robot Attack Continues

This is a CDF update. CDF intelligence indicates that the robots have switched tactic. The robots seem to be deploying recon teams, mainly in south central Eudoria. Jason Center in particular has been heavily attacked. There is no indication that the assault was intended to conquer or destroy the city, but appears to be designed to protect a sigint unit that came under attack from colonial militia. CDF Intelligence believes that heavy reinforcements are coming.

23 JAN 2009 - EBN: Mutant gatherings in the wild
This is Shelly Nakajima, reporting from outside Fort Zeus. As you can see behind me, a lot of mutants have gathered. CDF have raised concerns about it, but does not consider it a serious threat. CDF advise colonists to be careful. There has been no official explanation for the mutant gatherings. Some say they are trade meetings, others think that they might be gathering an army. Anyway, we can expect a sharp increase in mutant population.

26 Jan 2009 - EBN: Report from mutant country
This is Shelly Nakajima, reporting from inside mutant territory. I have been captured by the mutants, alongside my cameraman Jason Ferguson. They haven't killed us, and I have been allowed to report what I'm seeing here. At least they are not protesting. What we see is a big arena, where mutants fight each other and captive colonists. The crowd is mad from bloodlust and there is a lot of yelling and cheering. The fights are always to the death, and... it's primitive and brutal, with clubs, whips and axes. I... I think we will be put in the arena eventually. And... forgive me for being a bit unprofessional, but I'm afraid this is it. I don't think I'll survive five seconds in there. I'll be reporting for as long as I can, but... well, the future looks bleak for me and Jason.

This is Shelly Nakajima, still alive in mutant heartland. Jason and I haven't been killed yet, and we can still transmit. I'm beginning to think that they're allowing us to transmit and that they want you... us, to know. There are other captives as well. DeVries, he's& he has been a prisoner for a long time. We are the first humans that he has seen since dr Duchev. DeVries says that the Umbranoids are running the show. Prisoners are still forced into the arena to fight, and ... I've done my best to treat the wounds of the few that win and survive but I don't have much to work with. The air is ripe with pain, uncertainty and fear; so much fear, even among the mutants and especially Feffoids and Argonaughts, and it seems to be... it's growing. I can almost touch it! I think... I fear that something bad is going to happen. Please, if anyone out there can hear me, help us before the fear takes us.

The rest of us, those that have survived and those that weren't thrown into the ring, are being held in this cattle pen, and most of us are badly hurt. Sometimes they pick one out and whip them. I think they do it because they can. Things have changed here. The gladiator fights seems to have been crowd pleasers. And all these... people, colonists, they just died to please these... beasts. I'm sorry, I can't... the Feffoids and Argonauts have sent their champions into the ring, and... they are slugging it out, and... they do. They are so scared and excited and you can see the blood-lust as they fight. The crowd is very much the same. There's so much blood and violence and pain, so much that we can feel it. It's an avalanche of fear rolling over us, and some of us have already given in and gone... gone... catatonic...

MindArk PE AB have licensed the Mega Hit "Let it Rock" by Kevin Rudolf featuring Lil Wayne to herald the next generation virtual world experience as Entropia Universe crosses over to the CryENGINE®2's cinematic graphics engine in 2009.
Knowing the creative geniuses of the Entropia community, MindArk PE AB have decided to host a video competition: a prize of A Unique Land Area plus A Full Set of Unlimited Supremacy Armor will be awarded to the Entropia Universe participant that creates the best promo video for Entropia Universe, using all or part of Kevin Rudolf's hit song "Let It Rock".
Submissions should be posted on Youtube before the competition closing date on Saturday Feb 14th 2009. The name of the entries should be "Entropia Let it Rock:" followed by your own title.
The competition is open to everyone, with the exception of MindArk PE AB employees and employees of subsidiaries of MindArk PE AB. The best video will be picked by judges appointed by MindArk PE. The winners will be announced shortly after the closing date. Judges' decisions are final.

Hi,
I watched over 230 videos and selected around 100, then reduced to around 40, I then brought in 3 other MA staff and the 40 were reduced to around 25, then a small group of people watch around 25 videos and democratically judged by a 1 to 10 basic the videos, I don't think we can be fairer than that!
We were not specific on what we were looking for because we did not really know!
Most of the videos deserve a prize! I think the winner won because it was consisted from start to finish, but the runners up had some amazing scenes, my personal favorites are MrChips comic book and Chillax81's bullet from the gun scene, but many more now also come to mind :)
I would like to thank everyone who entered and spent many hours making these videos, to me your all winners :)

ENTROPIA GATEWAY POST

Today we are happy to announce the winner of the Kevin Rudolf Video Competition.
It has been a long and difficult journey to find a winner, with over 230 entries to judge, but we now have a clear winner for the grand prize of 1 Land Area, and 1 full set of Supremacy Armor (Unlimited).
We had great fun looking through these videos. It’s pretty safe to say that everyone at MindArk/FPC now know the lyrics of this song very well.
After viewing over 230 entries we managed to break it down to 100, and then with the help of everyone here at the office finally down to 26 and here is when the process became very slow and difficult, so we have decided to add runner up prizes in three more categories.

Nice to see all this in one place... I'll watch for any updates. Being new this year, I didn't know all the things that had happened in the past.

Will this list include things like the Dr. Duchev logs or the recent umbra invasions? Harder to define when they are on-going, but still things MA does to keep it interesting for us.

I need to go find a few deserving posts to gratz now so I can gratz you again :)
 
The Orbs do get a mention on the list. I'm guessing RJ compiled the history mainly from the client loader/EU site archive, and the Umbras haven't featured much on the client loader as the story is largely being told through the notes.

Absolutely correct. I am not confident in my abilities to narrarate a story such as the Dr D Logs, Umbranoids, and the happenings at the Orbs. The Dr. D Logs do have a few threads, one even quotes all the text from all logs discovered so far:

Eddie000 compiled it and it should stand alone. Spawns at the Orbs are not announced and while they are posted about here on EF, I have not seen an EBN bulletin about it. A few Orb news flashes from fellow colonists actually turned out to be false reports ;) I try to compile historical threads that can be verified.

Thanks for the kind words, +reps and the EFD Awards. I will make good use of the EFD in a way that is good ;) Some people know how I do it (711 certainly does). I do this because PE evolved into EU and continues to evolve. I greatly need assistance from the "old-timers" out there that were around when PE went gold. Not everything is mentioned on the client-loader, but people like CycoKick helped A LOT in the Mining thread with accurate descriptions of how things changed and backed it up with screenshots. THey deserve credit as well.

One of the oldest "home cooked" events was Manhunt in 2003. Entropians vs Marco in PVP1.
Marco showed up in mod shadow armor with Modified M71A2+Modified Amp, but eventually was killed anyway.. :)

OOOOHH!! Considering how long ago that was, I doubt there is any record of it anywhere... Does anyone have some screenshots or info about this Manhunt?

I certainly appreciate that you think enough of this to want it sticky, but I would feel weird about asking. It is not for me to judge this, but for others. I am sure some moderator will come across it one day and if he/she feels it is worthy then they will take that action.

There were screenshots of the manhunt and of the scanned items that Marco used.
