Hoos's Rental Tips of the Week, #1
As H&R Circle continues to expand to offer a greater variety of items for you to choose from, there are likely many pieces of equipment that we stock that you've never had time to examine the full benefits of, and the selection can become overwhelming. In this new feature, I intend to highlight often-overlooked rental "gems" each week.
Slash Your Way to Cheap HP
If you've never done much melee skilling, you are in good company. The vast majority of the EU population hasn't either. However, if you're like me, you are increasingly wishing you had, with all the fun new 10/10 (L) weapons and their UL counterparts being introduced, the emergence of melee during LG, and the persistent rumor of eventual introduction of melee amps.
We recently added two nice UL shortblades, both great for skilling due to relatively low 10/10 requirements, and relatively high attack rates and damage per second. I have enjoyed testing these out myself, and have gotten nice HP gains from increases to my underdeveloped melee skills, as well as nice economical hunts on mobs like ambu. These two blades are the Bicak Blix and Bicak Kek. They're both reasonably affordable to rent, so check one out for a few days and start skilling melee the way you've always meant to, but couldn't due to the poor eco on the old blades, and the low TT on the new (L) blades.
Profit off Your Rental
If you plan to put in a day or two of hard-core multi-hour hunts (as I am prone to do), check out our adjusted, improved or modified FAPs. If you normally use something like an EK2600 or an (L) fap you are paying 160-200% markup for, you will be surprised at how much you save on your mega-hunt using one of these choices. For instance, at 2 pec per click (25 heal per pec) and a 95 ped per day rental fee (before your discounts), the adjusted FAP will quickly start to save you PED due to:
1. Less deaths and less mob regeneration due to high heal per click, and relatively fast reload (26 per minute);
2. Very high eco (25 heal per pec); and
3. Reduced armor decay due to quicker kills and ability to hunt "naked" on many mobs.
Although the improved and modified FAP cost a fair amount more to rent, similar considerations apply, especially if you have a day at CP or Hogglo planned. Additionally, renters have found that if they choose, they can recover much or all of the rental price by offering uber fapping services between their own hunts.
Happy hunting, and stay tuned for column #2 next week on mining!
