    Locating Mining Claims

Someone in the community showed me something very similar to this. Start with the fixed return of 95%. When you drop a probe, it rolls a dice (yes dice rolling sucks as there is no skill involved but it is what it is). If your return is above the 95%, your probability of returning a hit drops...

    Mining sucks...

On Error Press alt-f4 Repeat until bad. Drop probe Await results Change server Goto beginning Basically mine until the server is crap, change server, repeat, when all servers are crap alt-f4. Simple...

    Mining sucks...

Ye it basically comes down to pick a server, drop a probe, if you miss move to the next server. If you have tried all the servers log-out... Simple really...

    Mining sucks...

Question now is, is this oscillation time dependent or drop dependent ?
  5. R

    Mining sucks...

Returns are down to 92% tt which is to be expected. It appears to oscillate over time.

    Mining sucks...

So nothing that I am really interested in... I am still sitting at 98% tt return with minimal effort.

How do you keep your resource stock under control

Interesting...... Your MU% is what makes you your profit. Feeding the crafters.... In that case your hitrate% does not really matter as it can be offset by MU, as long as that hitrate% for that resource is uniform between all miners at the same time. IE if mining is bad for me, it should be bad...

    Mining sucks...

Oh no, I hear you.. Lets take a look at my mining in PE and compare it to now. Using the spiral, this was a typical run 1st 0.5 ped drop miss 2nd 1 ped drop hit size 5 3rd 1 ped drop hit size 5 4th 1 ped drop hit size 5 etc.. The above carried on till the game moved to a new cycle or someone...

    Mining sucks...

I would agree with this.. So I am starting with extremely simple tests to get a baseline. Something that is cheap and does not take a lot of time. Also something that I can do for a long period of time. Also something that virtually eliminates other miners dropping before me.. Returns are now...

    Mining sucks...

Well no, it's more like I am performing very simple unbiased tests to see what the game actually does which effectively eliminates the need for any in-game skill what so ever.

    Mining sucks...

Not quite... I have been playing since "day 1". And the way mining is now is a sad reflection of how the game's skill ceiling has degenerated over time. The way you mined meant something, the actions you took mattered and directly determined if you hit or not.. Not this overlapping...

    Mining sucks...

The main issue is, this can be automated..... No wonder this game has a major botting issue...
  13. R

    Mining sucks...

So my returns are up to 96% tt.. Which is good.. The main issue, is once again, the amount of skill required to obtain these returns... ZERO SKILL REQUIRED ..... Login, drop probe, suck up resources, return to drop site, logoff, wait 24 hours, repeat... Once again, ZERO SKILL REQUIRED...

The fun factor - Project Entropia VS Entropia Universe

I have never withdrawn from PE. Following veins was just too easy but at least there was a bit of skill involved, now none of the exists.. Sad really.. The game had such high potential, and now look at it...

The fun factor - Project Entropia VS Entropia Universe

You have just proven my point, while you are mining there is absolutely no skill involved as to where exactly IE the exact X and y coords you drop a probe at. A person carpet-bombing will have the same return overtime as someone that does not. Shameful... Absolutely no skill involved

The fun factor - Project Entropia VS Entropia Universe

Which "game" was more fun mining, PE or EU ? For me it's PE, with all it's janky systems, duping exploits, predictable mining system, hands down PE.. EU is just a random gambler's paradise with no system, personal skill or predictability to speak of. Just you WILL get 95% back over time... PE...

    Mining sucks...

HItrates decrease which leads to more players pressing alt-f4, which leads to less players mining and it just gets worse...
  20. R

    Mining sucks...

It depends on what other players are doing.... You can't expect to get a ath if the pool is empty. The more hits a miner gets in a row, the fuller the pool. This should be obvious.

    Mining sucks...

Ye cause at the time of my mining, the packing density is not high enough to warrant the time. It can be thought of as a spring, lying on it's side, when the spring is compressed, it's amplitude and frequency are a lot higher than one that is stretched out.
  22. R

    Mining sucks...

It's incredibly simple. It's a uniformly distributed array, where the gap between each point is a multiple of the tools radius. Done... Of course this does have an obvious exploit. If you can find the refresh times and the most common distance you should be able to sit at a set location and...

    Mining sucks...

2 nrfs in a row for me now = alt-f4... It's incredibly simple. There's no skill here.
