I went yesterday to Arkadia in pursuit of the honey and milk that's been hyped over the forums. :wtg:

After 12 globals I got exactly 0 items.

As you can see from the entropiatracker screen below, there were a few globals with enough tt value to be a good candidate for item drops.

At least the tt return was better then on Calypso, but I'll pay that one back later

What's your experience with item drop from hunting or Arkadia so far?

Regards,
Sitram

1 item in something like 45 globals total from team & no team :)

i have been averaging about that many globals per day since the first day. and i have gotten 1 item mako 2 (L) tt33ped. nothing else and i have had some considerably high loots, but if i recall even the super uber loots that have happened there had no items, only oils

Come back to the fields full of Feffoids and Atrax :D

well don't expect all items to drop in the first VU.

depending what you hunt, same as Calypso.

I'm not referring at getting discoveries but looting already discovered items to support economy.

why looting already discovered items?

Its the same as Calypso, some mobs never drop anything, others all the time (Moli and Shogun) ... I for one am happy about Arkadia not dropping items like mad, it would inbalance the system.

Limited items are what keeps Entropia Universe going,

It's a circle:
I loot stuff -> others buy my looted stuff -> I buy other's looted stuff to loot more stuff.

If you cut the "I loot stuff" part, everything falls apart.

As far as I know... MINDARK does the balancing soooo.... there is something that will always be shitty about ALL the planets that will come, and that thing is ...... LOOT :)

No items for me on Ark, but am back on Calypso now.
Where on my 1st little 100 ped run, before bed, back home, got 2 items :)
Granted, not good items, but items nontheless.

I agree, more items there should be dropped, eventualy, it's going to be entirely upto the crafters, and if they leave, it will all fall apart, as people wont pay the transport costs.

Only items I've looted on Arkadia are only 2 ESIs, got from beladoths in back to back kills/globals.

There are some people who dont want anything cool to drop in the first few weeks and defend the balance manager:scratch2:
I agree with you, for the number of globals on Arkadia, I would expect some decent items to drop, especially with the opening promotion!

If you dangle the carrot in front of the Donkey you have to eventually feed it!:beerchug:

well, Ive did two fast trips to Arkadia yet, and in about 8-10globz (was rly rush so didnt counted them) I had just one 10ped ESI as item in loot... even profit of those runs was about 900ped so, far better than last few months on calypso, but as sum1 said, Ill pay for that :D

one full tt item from 35 globals&hofs, + 4 esi

soc members + team... ~150 globals/hofs (one ath)... item: 1 planet fap and some esi...

I can only assume you are talking about (L) weapons.

Limited items are what keeps Entropia Universe going,

It's a circle:
I loot stuff (hunting materials for crafters)->
others buy my looted stuff (crafters gobble up all hunting and mining materials to make stuff)->
I buy other's CRAFTED stuff to loot more stuff.

<So, I had to change one word in your statement>

Why should you loot items on a regular basis that crafters can craft, esentially taking a % of their business? I've always found it strange that CB13's, UL2's, S60's, and a variety of other lower end weapons drop like candy on Calypso. The weapons crafters are USELESS until they reach a skill level high enough to craft mid-to-upper level (L) weapons.

<Think what it would do to hunters if crafters having the ability to loot animal oils and other basic materials of crafting>

To answer the OP, I have looted ONE (L) weapon in a week... an ASI-10 (L) in a non-global drop, which is the exact same item as the TT pistol.

You're right, I meant limited items, those are what keeps EU going. :)

I see no reason why my statement needed to be changed.
As a hunter I loot both materials for crafters and items for hunters(armor, weapons, faps). This is why I used loot as a general term for items gotten from mobs that I sell to others.
As a buyer, I buy both from hunters and from crafters.

Why should you loot items on a regular basis that crafters can craft, esentially taking a % of their business? Because hunters also need a source of markup not just crafters.
Also looting items from time to time helps increase the excitement of hunting profession.

Here is my Experience on the first day:

Here are some nice items I've looted in Arkadia....all are in teams :)

1. Herman ASI-30 Arctic
2. Gyro FAP-30
3. A nice ESI

Share your Items, and share the Joy!

However, I do think that the item drops are much less... and MU is widely spread.... for example I've looted Advanced target assessment unit from Oro.

Implications:

I think MA has finally realized that the majority of the players are not ubers..... and to keep the cost to play low the MU needs to be lower..... and should be widely spread....

I think this strategy will work in retaining new players ingame!

And MA doesn't care much if uber calypsian leaves arkadia! Coz this planet is geared to recruit new players in the universe.

I'm not referring at getting discoveries but looting already discovered items to support economy.

Haha, High end items with exorbittently high MU for uber Players.
It's an economy to make Ubers ped card fatter at the cost of masses
I hope MA abandons that policy in Arkadia :)

Otherwise We'd see same stagnation here too.....and the result would be another failed planet.

I'm expecting a very interesting time for the ubers.... and would be watching their reactions!

.... just my 2c :)

Why do you keep referring to ubers Infinity01?

I'm nowhere near uber

Looting any items not high markup ones would be ok. But not looting any in all those globals is a sign that something has to be improved. Without limited weapons, armor, faps looted on a constant basis how do you think other players who don't own UL gear can play EU? :scratch2:

Well, I'm actually expecting items to be crated more in Arkadia... and hunting and mining will supply the raw materials... making them inter dependent.

Having said that, i'm sure arkadia will have items dropped from mobs.. but probably a bit later.

Right after the lauch they needed a global/hof spam without giving up too much to the mid level or uber players.

From, Arkadia perspecive the key issue is brining in new players and retaining them.... and the currrent strately might work for them pretty well

11 more globals last night and I finally got an item last night on yuka !!!! :yay:
