A) you don't kill as much skills with 101 B) The mobs regenenarates faster , so you kill more HP, means it cost even more with smaller amp. C) More kills/hour could mean better chance to global/HOF or have a good loot ... so No offence but you are off topic

A) B) C) thats why L weapons are for. after reaching certain level opalo skilling becomes so slow that all what you just mentioned falls in that category. skilling with upper L weapons is much faster than opalo.
and im not offtopic since he mentioned nerf in his initial post.
