ADDED INFO IN THE MINING GUIDE (sticky)

Indoor mining
Indoor mining can be done on Monria, FOMA,Hell, Arkadia Moon and Arkadia Underground
REMEMBER that in those area's you only have 1/2 finder range, so if you want to do honeycomb best use 40 x 40
Indoor mining has a very low SR (mostly around 5%) but if you find a claim it will be bigger.
According to MA (and I quote) : high risk mining but with bigger rewards.
FOMA : https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?160306-FOMA-Mining-Chart-VU10
Hell : https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?211239-Hell-Mining-Chart
Monria : http://www.monria.com/forum/threads/monria-mining-ore-enmatter-distribution.3567/
Arkadia UG http://arkadiaforum.com/threads/arkadia-underground-mining-map.10460/
Arkadia Moon : no map yet

Why is selling with MU so important?

According to MA : Net return cycling for 100,000 PED since VU 15.15: 97.29%"

For hunters/crafters it's the same

This counts for bombs, finders, extractors, amps, enhancers... BUT only for TT value, all MU is your risk so you will need to make profit with MU to earn that back by selling resources with MU and keep your costs as low as possible,so paying MU for a finder/extractor/refiner is making it harder to gain from in the long run.

0.4x range to be precise, and it translates to 0.16x search area courtesy of pi*r^2.

Correct :)

that's why I do 40 x 40 drops

Thank you very much for reply and I'll trow you a +1 rep as soon as I can give you more :)

MU such an important factor, hard lesson learnt hard way :))

In long run, when using big amps, unless we can sustain a stable return of over 3% + the MU of amps, from minerals, unampped seems safest to go.

still test d-class, which is 104% right now, that means average minerals we need to sell need to be 107% or higher (3% from the 97%, and 4% from the amp cost).

This is 100% correct and dont forget to mine without taxes. If you are mining on a 5% taxed LA, this would mean you need to get 112% or higher minerals to sell.
