I'm just wondering what people think about this. I don't usually do long runs except when I have a pile of generic leather lying around (which is quite often!) but it occurs to me that setting the machine running when you're having a shower/tidying the house/vacuuming/cooking is a good idea. What does everyone else think? (Poll attached.)

Hi.

I vote yes but not with unlimited time. Maximum 15 or 20 min AFK is well. You can answer phone, go to WC, drink a coffee and perhaps go to supermarket to buy dinner. Or read a book.

Greetings.

voted yes, if they didnt want that then they wouldnt have placed the auto feature in.

Personally I don't like people taking advantage of the system to do things in a way others can't. Support however says you are not allowed to automaticly hunt, mine, and so on. But you are allowed to auto-craft whenever you want using the ingame methods. That means you can do it while cleaning, sleeping, doing other things, or even while not being at the computer at all. So, doesn't need a poll, MA/FPC already say it is okay.

Yes

I load the machine and go to sleep sometimes, then reload it before I go to work. The only reason they put that button there was because everybody uses an autoclicker anyways because it is so fucking boring to make filters.

I never used auto before they implemeted the ingame one :yay:

(to be fair, I have never done more than 500 clicks in a session ;))

always nice to autoclick when doing laundry, dishes, or even just reading up on posts here at ef. Actually, doing the ef thing gets you double duty since you are gaining efd that you can later sell for peds or use to contribute to the growth fund and get even more later.

I used to hunt a LOT, but mainly craft now since low end computer can't apparently handle the lag with hunting if you get a big spawn on you... Just because you have green check marks on the client loader does not mean you can play every aspect of the game...

Don't forget sleeping, having sex, working and go out shopping!

I almost never craft, but i disagree with this comment, since you can use the auto-use tool while hunting or while extracting.

So i voted yes, since it's a feature that helps a lot when you're doing boring tasks that take lots of time. ;)

Ofc this brings the afk sweaters too, but who cares since it's a great tool that helps a lot?

Beating dead horse, was discused for years.

How about
- collecting taxes on LA not only afk but offline too ?
- selling items in auction - afk, ofline , doing other things
- geting addvertised on add terminals - afk, offline, doing other

* lol

I have trouble dealing with what they do when I pay attention...I couldnt imagine what theyd do if I were not at the controls.

You shouldnt turn your back when Jeffrey Dahlmar is in the room, he will eat you alive.

Huh? You should stop doing drugs and molesting dead horses.

I hate autocrafting during sex. the whole time I'm wondering if i globaled or not

Two options:
- Turn the speakers uo
- Play windowed, watch porn and have sex with yourself

When crafting was fresh, the autoing was obvious. Back then the autoclicks were not integrated with the game and it was reasonable to be irritated.

If you are the Master of the Basic Pump run so AFK is for you.
If you craft items to sell them, maybe you need to watch your res and all the "miss" you can do on a round.

I said yes, but I agree to be away from your comp. for only a short period of time.

I usually set the crafting run up, then watch a movie on my computer at the same time.

same here no 3rd party clicker:D

once 5k clicks on filters ...all day clicking:D

as you cant sell very much items there is no need to stay afk while craft them?!

I mean "expensive" one.
When you have to use metal res or enmat res, you had better to watch each click and check how many res this craft use and how many res this session is using.

Wy wait doing nothing, sitting and sitting. Wen you have seen dead people in the family it becomes clear its better not to wast to much time waiting for someting that runs by it sell:) Sow make the crafting run you're brake from the game to do the things that need to be done to:)

As long as your are using the system as designed and not using a third party tool I have no issue with it. Has little to no effect on me anyway either way.

Dahmer is dead. He was beaten to death in the prison bathroom, with a mop, by a guy who thought he was the second coming of christ.

You may relax now. Unless the guy who thinks he's the second coming of christ is in the room. Then, obviously, make sure he doesn't have a mop.

If your talking from a return value,, exact same if you clicked your self ;)

Dahlmer is dead but MA will ALWAYS be lurking around you at ALL times.

It was never a problem, the problem was it took MA so long to implement a clicker.
I always have and always will AFK craft. As Torlin pointed out, unless you're crafting with res and/or to sell the items, there is no benefit to watching the loading bar repeat 5000 times.

My only issue with it is that it really is just a couple steps away from botting. Miners and hunters can't automate their professions and can be banned if they try to do so, so it is a double standard. As mentioned already, this is only useful for skilling runs, not high-price sale items - skilling for every profession can get mind numbingly boring at times, not just crafting. Miners can set their avatar to go on a bombing run overnight and I sure can't set Snow up with a dozen H400s to burn on droka while I'm at work. The difference between skilling crafting and skilling up hunting skills - crafters have to keep the machine loaded, hunters have to run between mobs and occasionally FAP, both are single-click spam to skill. My view is that if they were going to allow automated AFK skilling for one profession, they should have done it for all of them.

I don't have a problem with the crafters that use it though, in fact - all the more power to them. If they system is there, screw it - go ahead and use it, it is your money. As usual, it is a case of MA only looking at one profession at a time.

I almost never craft, but i disagree with this comment, since you can use the auto-use tool while hunting or while extracting.

So you can go hunt mobs that take 10-20 shots to kill, set the auto-use tool, and walk away for a couple hours or take a nap and everything will work out just fine, right?

There is a big difference between the auto-use tool and the auto-craft feature. Extracting with it is a wonderful thing, as the extractor will stop trying once it is done... Be my guest and try to AFK hunt with it though...

I never used autoclicker before it was introduced inside the the game. My longest run then was 1k clicks while watching TV or reading books. Ones with a bad toochache when I couldn't do anything else.

I like the autoclick option that's now. My work is mostly reading books and looking for information I need so since I do that most of the time at home I can simply log in and set machine on a long run. I consider crafting so borring I would never get decent skills in that if autoclicker was not introduced.
I'm by the PC, but I don't pay much attention to incomming PMs, soc chat and stuff like that when I get bussy with my books.

Plus the fact I can do the runs without hurting hands and fingers is a really nice thing :wtg:

Hunters are said not to use autoclicker, but there is auto use in game and as far as I know many ppl use that when they are hunting in a big spawn points or when killing a huge hp mobs.
The same goes for miners who use auto use when drilling claims. I suppose most of you don't realize how long would it take to excavate 2-3k lysterium claim. I had 1k lyst claim when I wasn't skilled enough to use anything else but the tt excavator. Took me 3 days and my hand was hurting for a day more.

I say - auto use tool and ingame autoclicker are our blessing from the great Lootius.
