Basic Sweating Guide

When you first begin to play Entropia Universe, your options to play are somewhat limited to your budget; if you cannot deposit, or don't plan to for a while, your only options are:

  • To Sweat Gather from the various mob on Calypso
  • Walk around finding fruit and dung on the ground
  • Run to the oil rig to collect oil

Unfortunately, the rig is too far from the starting place, and even if you do make it there the dense mob coverage is too great, and being in a PvP zone you would die from anyone who has 'closed' the rig (meaning they kill anyone who tries to take the oil). The fruit and dung are too spread out and difficult to detect, so sweat gathering is your best option when starting out.

Overview

Sweat gathering is free for all to do, no special equipment required or armor. It's quite easy really, just follow the steps below:

  • Find one of the many mob on Calypso
  • Get within the proximity of the mob
  • Left click the mob, then right click and select 'Sweat Gather' from the menu

After you execute the last item on the list, your avatar will begin to concentrate. This is the most important step in the process, as moving or getting attacked will disrupt this process, and you will have to start over again. It takes 4-5 seconds to complete, and when you’re done the avatar's hands will have a green glow to them. Time to gather sweat!

Left clicking the mob again, a green 'ray' will connect you to the mob. During this time you can move and get hit without disruption. When you first start out will may fail to collect any sweat. However with time and patience, a window may appear with 2 or more bottles of vibrant sweat. Repeat process until a message appears in the chat window "You cannot collect any more sweat from this creature".

While sweating gains skill in the mindforce category, it's also a valuable time to build some defense skills as well! When a mob attacks you, you may gain skills such as Evade or Combat Reflexes. These skills help you to avoid the mob's attacks. These will be handy when you begin to hunt.

Another tool to help you sweat is to find a person who can cast Focus Charges. This places a bubble around your avatar, and when you are hit when you are concentrating, this helps keep your concentration. Note however that you will still sustain damage, and if you die you will lose all charges!

I got some Sweat. Now what?

Vibrant Sweat is a necessary item in manufacturing Mind Essence, a required 'ammo' for using mindforce powers (such as healing, focus charges and attacks). So many Mindforce users buy sweat. Prices vary, so look around before you sell.

After you sell it, you will have some pretty PEC (Project Entropia Cent) or even some PED (Project Entropia Dollar). If you have enough you may consider buying a Sollomate Opalo and ammo from any Trade Terminal (Found in most cities and outpost).

Quick FAQ

  • Why sweat?
It's fast, cheap, and you can get some skills while your at it
  • Can I wear armor while I sweat?
Yes you may, wearing armor will decrease the damage done by mob. However being attacked while wearing armor will decay the armor, and after many hits the armor will begin to protect you less and less.

  • Can I sweat all mob?

No. Some mob cannot be sweat (like bots). It's also best to avoid some of the tougher mob. Stick to snablesnots and exos to begin with.

just a little thought on fruit. If you are out in the middle of nowhere and find some,, write down coords and leave it,, go back a couple of days later and the amount has increased. That is unless someone has picked it up :)

Are you going to post this on ED? We have one sweating guide there already, but it's more about tactics and group sweating. I'm thinking yours is the basic guide, the one already on ED is "part II". Or, we could combine them. Whaddya think?
