This is a fix for the Bad entropia Performance for systems that are wide above the mininum requrements, it will fix fps drops stuttering and long loading Times (Like for example on aris)

ATTENTION ! before you copy and paste this... make shure to do a safe copy of your old cfg file
you can also join my discord and download my settings.

or something

haha imposter ratio wtf - set that to 1 and you're off the no loot list

Game still runs like I’m playing on a laptop from 2005, but the config does seem to help it feel a little smoother, but can’t tell for sure yet.
I’m running a 4090 and a 7950x3d, can barely keep frame rates over 60 when anything is happening on screen. Meanwhile my gpu usage never passes 12% and my cpu hits an absolutely massive 3% when things get real intense.

If anyone wants to know why game is running poorly first of all test check the machine latency of your GPU with a program called latencymon this program won't fix the problem instead you can identify what service which is affected by the GPU you have.

Latencymon will measure your Ms between all mechanical parts on your motherboard to each driver and send a measurement accordingly in nano seconds and you can also calculate the Ms from the result of that measurement.

If most of your GPUs are sending between 300 - 2000+ nano seconds then your system isn't responding well enough and probably the solution would be updating your driver's.

Is there a setting to change Windowed Resolution?

I'm on a single monitor setup and I would play way more if I could make the window like 480x640, but changing those settings seems to have only changed fullscreen resolution.

EDIT: Figured it out

Problem is your gpu settings, nvidia +in game.

+add gpu acceleration in game
+turn on antilag+chill Mode with resting fps 140(dont know equal for nvidia)

Chillmode forces your gpu to Work harder when you set resting fps high enough.
Go to bios set expo 1 for ram

Should have triple fps with that setup

I don’t disagree that i should have triple the fps, but don't think it’s my settings. GPU accel is on, running expo already, antilag I’m assuming is the equivalent to low latency mode for nvidia, shouldn’t matter as that’s usually a performance hit for lower system latency. Dunno what chill mode is, but my GPU is clocked up already when the games open. Poor optimization would be my guess.

It sounds super funn and stuff but the main issue comes from "texture streaming" cryengine games do use a lot of it, to improve the fps drops you will have to buy a fast m2 drive, i use a "wd black sn 8100

The cryengine is super old for the new gpu's its like our gpu's dont even consider it a game.

I am running a rtx 5080 and had 60 fps too before i did upgrade the m2 drive

However in the discord there are some fixes and workarounds that might help, there is also a programm called lossless scaling, it gives you the ability to force fps ai generation on any game.

There is also a issue with cryengine not supporting big cpu's, kills a lot of fps too... u will have to change the Affinity
Its all in the dc

We just need to get the info to the people :)

Im running an m.2 haha, I’ll check the out the DC, I joined earlier but haven’t looked through it all yet. I’m familiar with changing CPU affinities since I’m running the dual CCD chip and the auto management isn’t the best all the time. I think i did a basic attempt at running the game on the 3d vcache, the standard, or both when i first came back to the game. It didn’t make much of a difference.

I’ll see what you’ve got in that DC and let you know if i find something that works :D.

Ill try this when i get home, im running on a pretty medium setup and game shouldnt be hard at all for it to run.

32gb 6000 MHz
4070 super
7700x with negative curve, 8 cores 16 threads at 5.5ghz, overclocked

8gb write 7gb read m.2 nvme

Im capped at 144 fps on games like helldivers 2 on high settings even when things get hectic on max difficulty and 8 barrages goes off. Blows my mind how Entropia has worse performance :(

Gpu is trying to save power for somereason with this game, chill mode lets u determine minium fps, higher than vsync

Not the issue since my GPU isn’t running at idle clocks with the game open. Chill mode sounds like it’s just controlling what the GPU considers idle load so it can drop the clocks. I think Nvidias equivalent is the power profile which is set to max performance in my case regardless.

The only thing I saw on the discord that seems relevant is setting affinity to 4 or fewer cores rather than the 8 or 16 I’ve already tried. I’ll give that a shot later today and see what happens. That fix looks like it was specified for the game not opening at all, but could be a factor here.

In reality it’s annoying, but the level of attention this game requires 99% of the time means I can live with it. Only time I need to aim is in PVP and unfortunately that’s pretty rare in this game.

Cryengine has always been kind of a shit show as was already mentioned by Isa, that’s why I’ll never understand the anti UE crowd.

I mean, if we get Unreal and PE doesn't work like all the other games, im sure we will point to kingdom come deliverance 2 and say: look at how cool and smooth cryengine is.

not sure the engine is the problem here.

It was pain in the ass to get my game running stable
Back then i had to find some solution brcsuse of the Videos i made and i tryed everything, like ... i did upgrade from a 6800 xt to a rtx 5080 just to figure out that the amd gpu was not the problem , then i thought... heeey wait a Minute texture streaming might be a issue too, then i did upgrade to the Super fast m2 .. and so on and so on ... @ some point i went from 30 fps to stable 160 and this was enough for the Videos

Everything above that i had to runn lossless scaling, frame gen can boost it up to 300 fps (only usefull for pvp)

Most of my issues came from texture streaming, that annoying micro stuttering...

Its importent to understand that we have multiple issues

1. Gpu does not understand "entropia is a game"
2. Cryengine use only 4 cores max
3. Heavy texture streaming
4. Long loading Times because of reading and writing on the drive
5.need to restart the game every few hours depending on what you do
(Buissy landgrabs you have to restart like every 30 min otherwise fps drops to <15) <- thats wild af

"Most of my issues came from texture streaming, that annoying micro stuttering..."
GRRRRR.... This is possibly related to the inventory items reloading their graphic EVERY update? Boy oh boy - that's just bad programming. That stutter on HM was enough to make me say fuckit and then not play much these days - hopefully things get fixed better faster LOL. You'd think they know the definition of OPTIMIZATION. Reminds me of that scene in Made Men when Jim Belushi says "Evolve. E--- VO---L---V--E" Real slow so the inbred hitman could understand.
I think this movie is cult classic BTW.
