Can someone at Mindark please check the Rookie and F101 mining layers, the hit rate drop-off is extremely severe. I cannot verify the bottom layers as I do not have the $$$ necessary to check.

If someone from the community can please PM me and we will conduct a little test after a demonstration of what I have found....

What was the average return of the 10.000 drops you did?
No you dont go from 100% hitrate to zero without some thing else going on and now I cant hit a darn thing. That is why I need other avatars to verify what I have found...

94,48% for me ;)
And what lvl are you, what tools are you using ?
What I am saying is that the top layers... AND YES this game has a 3d projection of a 2d space.

Current hitrate % 3.125% ie 128 points in a server. A simple binary search supports my claim.

You should know by now that :

Levels do not matter ... you only need them to have maxed a finder and that's it

Different finders is different depth, so you can focus getting different resources at different depths and thats it

TT finder against end game finders = same results ... and that's it ...

And yes, there are bad and good times and that's it

Plain and simple ...

I use any finderd between F-101 F-106 and M10 - MD40 and depth enhancers that's it

I do not have access to those tools, so I am speculating... Right now it's a hypothesis.

I am basing this on the md1 and my actions as well as the game's reactions to my moves.

Well something is weird, something is change. I hit tiny like never before- don't know is good or bad, i don't track this one, but now is just weird for me. But i'm not full miner. So keep asking or check deeper in forum.

Just keep sending 'em. I hit nrf's like Stephen Curry hits 3-pointers at times too. All part of the game.

I have dropped over 300k probes, mostly untaxed, but some taxed, with returns of 95.17% before excavator decay.

You hardly can hit some resources anymore without a amp, even amp 1 seems to be worth it in some area's if you are going for a certain resources.
This goes for enm and ores.

All depends what target (resource) you are going for.

That's what MA changed. ;)

EDIT : I think they changed this to give more reason to use amps and get the economy going again, but unfortunately, the economy remains very poor with very slow sales.

Nevermind, figured it out, the game changes the layers every 15 minutes.

There's no "layers". You keep adding unnecessary complexity to a simple system. Mining resources just have spawn areas the same as mobs. A given resource has a respawn rate, which shapes the pull rate into the economy. A given resource has an ideal depth, and how close your drop is to that depth contributes to the probability you will hit that resource.

And it's fudged again.. Really you cant go from 100% hr to 0 in 2 minutes...

KISS (keep it simple stupid). Use variables that are proven. Not the creativity variables that keep popping up in your mind.

You don't even have to max the finder. I've used the P400 a LOT and droprate was exactly as expected on a max finder :)
OH, they might have changed that also then.

It happend that I was mining trea and I didn't maxed that finder cause I didn't check it, and only got 50% return :ROFLMAO:

Once I noticed, I stopped and changed finder and everything went normal

What shape is that area ? Resources spawn server wide...

Come, come come, do the math...

Tell me what the parameters are for mining, why the hell would you have a depth if it serves no logical purpose, that's just a waste of development hours.

Let me show you how easy this is..

We have x claims ...

XXXXX
XXXXX
XXXXX

When a mine finds a claim, does the game leave the gap of would it fill it ? If it was a fair system, it would try to move all the other claims to fill the area equally.
This is very difficult to do in a square, but in a circle, its simple when a simple single formula can generate and modify the array on the fly...

Yeah, im sure they didn't want to overcomplicate it by using some type of RNG for it instead.

RNG will get you sued...
