This looks so bad for the consumer. What did these players do in order to have their IPs banned? (they did nothing I'm sure!)

Given the present milieu of policy discourse, I bet it would be possible to induce enough hysteria via a single thread to convince a good 20% of readers that login button double-clickers are all evil and breaking the system intentionally with 100% certainty and should stay locked out forever and if MindArk doesn't do it no one will ever play Entropia again.

That is not entirely true.
Two days ago I logged to submit Support Case. Logged on website first time in many months.
After successfuly submitting SC, I wanted to attach screenshots and when I did that, browser was loading changes forever and then after few minutes I saw error page.
Tried different browser and Could not login and Live Support told me my IP got banned.
So
1) Fix your website - attaching screenshot is impossible (tried on two browsers after my IP got unlocked, and result was the same as first time)
2) I understand you want to provide security, but that IP lock logic is way too restrictive
