Configuration is incorrect still

I'm almost giving up!!!

I had the dreaded 'configuration is incorrect' error message - downloaded all updates (for my original Visual Studio application) and got onto the launch screen for the first time.

Thought 'Great. Everything is fine'. Downloaded the patch Update_10.0.0.28255-10.0.028586.exe - and now I'm back at the 'configuration is incorrect' message.

So what do I do now?

Any thoughts and suggestions appreciated - other than start all over again! This has now consumed 12 hours of downloading, installing and uninstalling.

You have to delete the Microsoft 2005 C++ redistributes already on your PC, uninstal EU then re-install it. Thats how I got it to work anyway.

I had thought that downloading all Microsoft updates would do the trick, and had been unwilling to download the fix that we had been to do!

But I finally did it and it worked! Doh!

and load x86.exe

Didn't need to reinstall VU.
