Contaminated Zone PVP Bug?

I have a question--where there any mobs around you? I have seen players gather a group of mobs around them to hide the green dot. This doesn't work most of the time but it does seem to work some of the time. If you get the mobs around you in the right way and they are of the right type/maturity you can hide yourself from others--I have only seen this work well at the rig with the big troxies and of course the sniper would have to be skilled enough to sit and take the hits of all the mobs while in waiting but it does work. Doesn't explain why you didn't see a message of being killed but could explain why you didn't see the green dot. I hope someone comes forward or MA provides a name so we can see what actually happened here.

If "invisible" armour is available now, PVP just got a whole lot more interesting.

Ok, I just got a reply back from support agin.... They will not give me the name of the avatar the suposidly killed me. Why not? If I got killed then the name would have been displayed for me to see in the message box anyway........

Unfortunately, this is one risk from PvP areas and we can not give you the name of the avatar as it is against our policies.

Im tellin yall I didnt get freakin killed!!!!!!!!!!!!I was alone!!!!!!!no mobs!!!!!!!!! no avatars (Unless they were invisible)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not that its alot of money but When i found the robot residue I had used my last bomb and was compleatly broke.... I thought I would have a great time useing that to mine but fuck!!!...lol:mad:
O well, I guess the more messages I send them the more BS Ill get in return.
So Fuck it... Hats off to ya mistery guy:pimp: (If there is a guy)
 
you might have lagged for alittle bit without you even realizing it, was shot the slayer say they got the kill while you still think life is grand meanwhile globals were shooting off and by the time you caught up to the server, you were dead and maybe between the slayers name/dmg and the toxic shot wore off message, there were globals :confused:

I'm not saying this happened, but I just wanted to make a suggestion :)

If i am reading this list correctly, there was exactly 50 peds of robot residue, so there should have been a global at least?

I don't understand why they withhold the name if it was on public display anyways :scratch2:
 
I can understand why, if it was a lag bug that caused it the other ava could confirm it.

Could simply be the invisible mob bug with a nasty PK twist hiding an ava ...or in the worst case scenario - a new exploit?

OFC this is the case, and they are not liable to return beause its a bug. Easiest is to deny it, saves support-stafftime and MA gets some Ped's of the system.
 
I think MA is in on it! Marco was probably showing people at the convention his new avatar cloaking device.

Worked like a charm it seems...

Interesting how support does not want to release the name, but i somewhat understand why they wouldn't either.

Interesting new pvp feature.

I just wanted to add that if your killed in pvp by mobs you dont lose your loot and the only way the toxic shot wears off is when you are pk'd
 
My guess is you were probably pk'd buy an uber relogging before your radar had been updated with their greendot and before their avatar had connected to the dmg reporting server.

they are quick you know;)

there's 2 possible answer for ur mishap.

1st was getting tango'ed by someone barely at the edge of the radar, haappened to me when i just set foot inside PVP (well less than 1minute)

and 2ndly is radar bug, sometimes mob and other players didn't show up in the radar at all. especially when the server hits lower than 80%. i can see people chatting but no greendots at all.
 
Been to PvP few times now(for mining ofc) and I've been looted 3 times since. But its a risk I'm willing to take in order to get my hands on some blood moss :D

Now all of those times I noticed the players pretty fast and it took some time(like 10-15 sec) for them to come in range for a shot, with me running in the opposite direction ofc. Now I don't know for sure if they were higly skilled(remember two names: Lodidodi the CEO and Unique 3ish) but they could not shoot me at the edge of the radar.
With regards to lag I've noticed that I get a brief moment of lag just before the players become visible to me on radar. But since I also get other kinds of lagmoments(no really) its hard to know whats what :laugh:

Btw I thought I did saw a pvp global bout 2 weeks ago, but I'm not sure
