It allows people to purchase items for games and many other online services from gift cards. There are many gift cards which can be used including Subway, CVS Pharmacy, & Kmart, just to name a couple. They have no fees, they are safe, secure and private and they do not require players to register or fill out complicated forms.
I have used them in a couple other online games and it makes it so much easier to buy prepaid cards. The current prepaid services offered are not located near where I live and I am not comfortable in giving out my credit card information to anyone online.
I used to have a paypal account but some hacker thought it would be funny to hack it and put their home address as the delivery address. Because of that, I dropped paypal and worked closely with law enforcement in the arrest and prosecution of the hacker.
