Don't know if anyone has used this, but I see allot of people with questions and they are not entirely sure on what system/hardware they have.
I use this tool Belarc Advisor to determine what type of hardware and software is on a system. It's a free safe download and it will also tell you if your security hot fixes are updated and give you a backup copy of your software keys and all sys info.
So if your not exactly sure whats under the hood and are thinking about an upgrade this tool may help you out, and enable people here to help you also.
p.s. if you use this to post your system specs anywhere for trouble shooting make sure you don't post the part in the middle with your software key
I keep a hard copy in my desk, and it has saved me big time during a crash.
