the top 1% have to win or there's no point in the rest of us trying to achieve anything.
There are many successful economic models that dont require overfeeding the top and starving the bottom.
Rewards should be based on dedication and investment, but there should be profitable opportunities for all levels.
Not everyone wants to play for years with the sole premise of someday reaching the "place you can never lose", nor there should be any in RCE.

There are a lot of interesting ideas that have great potential - you just need to grasp them correctly, not just the basic idea.

Tell me how you would feel if you invested a fortune and suddenly everything was devalued? MA can't solve it like this - they're already losing trust.
What do you mean? If it's balanced wisely this time and they actually learned their lesson which I hope to God they did, then UL goal that can't be reached for a couple of years from now minimum with new token that gets actual new players interested and roped in plus giving existing players goals would if anything drastically help current values and selling ability compared to this shit show now. How can you not see that? Unless you're questioning MAs ability to do it right the 2nd go around then I totally understand the faith in them part lol but there's got to be some goals. Few people just last night again were telling me how there is no goals atm and nothing really to work towards except grinding out NI skill dailies but for what?

Doing it right would consist of drastically limiting pulls to 1 real humans 2-4 years worth of time.

No alts running ontop of main acct, no macroing on main acct, no inflation bs, no exploits, but also make it it where there's a mission or something that helps close that gap in a small way for lower end players like gold/silver/ bronze tracks did making realworld passing time a bigger factor even if just slightly.

If not this then some other hunting goal for people. With mayhem being the biggest event tho it should probably come from there for biggest longterm goal.

And this current token is dead and this is coming from some1 who has a financial interest in this token but for the good of the game I can see past it.

not everything, it has to be based on weapons, there are a lot of weapons now (or there are few players)(or many L exeptional). I would work on an upgrading profession that will support very neglected things. If it is dependent on a new profession, it will not increase the levels of high weapons. and it will speed up the development of lower levels.

if mindark cant even be bothered to add an incentive like a cosmetic reward towards a two week grind spree,

i dont see why i even bother to participate. For tokens? Vendor is dead
For cosmetic tokens? i dont even know if they are available in game anymore,

There could have been a bunch of different mob pills with extremely low TT that dropped, that would cause PLAYERS to become creatures and wreck mayhem within the world spawns.

Imagine looting a mob pill worth 1 pec, but it transforms you into an halloween boss.

Said halloween boss has the possibility to drop a something that makes players wanna hunt these bosses,

Could be L gear, for sure, just something else other than these godforsaken horrible new chips and makeup.

What were they thinking?....

I am sad. I had such great hopes for this event when looking back at the robot event at corinth, and then we got this...

Edit:

it was clearly my own misinterpretation but I did think this event would be spawning world bosses and stuff like that, during the event. Think about the Corinth event and how much people attended these boss spawns, invasion or w/e you wanna call it.

What did we get now?
There was one small wave for a short period of time at Medusa before Mayhem began, and then the event felt "abandoned".

Then "bosses" were placed inside landareas, or shared spawns, with such ridiculous numbers I am wondering if Mindark was expecting 200 000 new players to join the game via steam because of this event.

There seems to be no in between, either the spawns are so lacking that you can't find a mob anywhere without a green dot harrassing the red dot, or there are so many mobs (and think about Chugs Hideout now) you can barely move anywhere, and within the low level mob spawns... you spawn high level bosses at random?!

i am frustrated beyond what i thought i would be, the more i think about the event the worse it gets.

also, anyone else crashing while using the teleporters?

three times this week after logging in, i have teleported a few times and the game just CTD and at those moments i cant even be arsed to log back on.

I didn't like it for these reasons :
  • No objective to reach, as discussed in another thread
  • "In the world" meant for me a lof of GDs on every spot, with the usual accidendal KS of autobots (yes, some were Shared, but with even more GDs)
  • "In the world" meant for me I had to travel to find a good spot, instead of just selecting a level from an instance
Loot or MU are not something I care about, I am playing Entropia by choice.

I played a good amount of the event and got my highest loot yet which was nice. It did however feel like the same as the rest of the game with worse loot composition driving less incentive to grind.

Observations while grinding:
  • No MU opportunity.
  • Grinding for tokens which are borderline meaningless at the minute.
  • Mayhem vendor didn't seem to have any restock on the (L) items which contributed to the above (unless this was drained the second the event started of course)
  • Loot composition was lacking any excitement. (I can get shrapnel and nano cube food anywhere)
  • Survival was fun, it was good to see how far I could push my avatar! Unfortunately motivation was killed by loot being better on my usual grinds and nothing special to really gather in the event.
  • I liked the open world aspect, I met a few people I would never have spoken to if it weren't for this event!
  • No real incentive to grind it again with the current reward system.
Feedback:
  • I love the fact this is open world and this was a great idea, some mob skin variety would be nice, you could even just colour them more angry or make them bigger for higher threat mobs which would add some variety with minimal effort.
  • It would be cool if the area the mobs were in got the Halloween theme too, throw in some spooky music while your at it, make it feel special!
  • Loot composition needs work, yes there are some people who just hunt for fun, but most are looking for opportunity to progress their avatar or make a few ped on the player market . Neither of these were really present enough in this event.
  • The Mayhem events need to provide progression opportunities at all levels of the game. People want long term goals, a week long grind to get a blueprint that could just poof on craft just isn't going to provide this.
  • Bring in a competitive element to the mayhem style events. This would be a good driver to gear up and get involved. I'd definitely jump in feet first if there was a leader board to climb with categorised prizes involved.
  • Drop rate of the Halloween Candy was perfect in my eyes, just enough to be useful but scarce enough to be pleased when one dropped.
  • Token rate seemed steady and boxes came in waves but remained steady. The tokens have no real meaning to me at the minute, I do like getting a stack of boxes though.
  • Love the new rare implants coming in the boxes, cool new items!
  • Love the new chips that have been coming out recently! Mindforce needs some love and this is a step in the right direction!
  • Aris armour seems to be a very successful chain, why not emulate this kind of progression in other aspects of the game. Seasonal catalysts or something similar that you can combine to slowly upgrade from base level armour/weapons that only drop from seasonal mobs? This could work for all levels of play.
  • Give me a meaningful reason to grind this event and I think I would love it!
The reason I stopped after clearing out the codex was asking myself 4 simple questions that I often ask myself in Entropia:

Why am I doing this?
It was new to me and a new codex, but no other real reason to continue now. I've hit my survival limit, this doesn't progress my avatar and loot is 99% shrapnel.

Do I gain anything from this short and long term?
No not really, I'd actually be better off hunting my usual mob cycle.

Do I gain skills at a good rate from this?
No the hp/lvl ratio is no good for it

Is this more fun than my usual grind?
Not really anything special or different to set it apart from the rest of the game currently.

I then went back to my usual routine.

I do want to stress that I appreciate all the effort that must have been put into putting the event together and I hope that all feedback is received well!

i looted 2 rare mayhem tokens. but atm no way to use them, rare mayhem token incentive fun rating 2/10
i did like the survival mode, managed to get 2k tokens for cheap vs world mob grinding 6/10
overall mayhem incentive rating 5/10

I told you to do SK instead

Did not enjoy mayhem at all, there is zero reason to grind tokens outside of the premise of buying pills to resell currently.. sure they might put more exceptional bp’s in the vendor but who wants to grind thousands of tokens for a chance at something you might fail the click on, just seems like a waste of time.

Open world mayhems are never going to work, this was a dumb decision by mindark as people are going to afk hunt whether in public or a private instance.

There is no reason tokens should not be tradable right now, let those who want to save them do so, but also give the chance for players just after whatever markup they can go for, to have the ability to sell them without having to go buy pills to then resell.

All in all, this mayhem was very poorly done, hopefully they will get things together before Christmas mayhem.

Something interesting could be rather than having the chance at failing the click on exceptional bps, make the item itself drop in mayhem and give people more reason to want to grind.

I live in hope that there is still time to feedback to MindArk before Christmas, so what did you think of the event? and what needs to be done to fix it?

For myself personally and many in my friend groups, it was utterly awful. So bad in fact that many just didn't bother. People who would have cycled many thousands of ped in a short space of time, either went and played other games or left caly. There was no rewards, there was nothing to encourage anyone to shoot these mobs. The adding of make up to the loot, whilst funny at first, in the end seemed to be a bit of a slap in the face. The slow drip of tokens is a farse these days, the boxes pointless, the open world format lacked any sort of "Halloween" immersion and in the end just created tension between players.

I have always said active game play should be encouraged, it seems they went about this backwards. I think we can all agree no one wants another devaluation or influx of UL or OP gear, but there are a plethora of ways to add incentives during event times to encourage game play and stimulate economic growth.

I do appreciate the irony of creating this here on PCF, as there often seems to be a few loud voices here who create suggestions which many would agree are not in the best interests of the game, but somehow get listened too. So I am hopeful that some of the players who truly play the game and care about its future might be willing to give some insight and ideas to what they think went right or wrong, and what needs to be done to change it.

Tonight Nana will be hosting a town hall meeting, maybe there will be an opportunity to discuss this there

Edit - Feedback ive had so far - "Yeah I have opinions on it, but I cant be arsed feeding things back to mindark anymore" :( Thats never a good sign

Ofcourse no one enjoyed it after years of nonstop AFK autoclick grind and many pulls of UL weapons by the TOP players and even mid players. It was to be expected, that if MA pull the handbrake, it will cause ppl to be less happy. Now the question is, what it the suggestion? The game cannot continue the instanced afk mayhems. It is easy to say that something is bad, but very hard to give an alternative. Maybe going back to the real Mayhem that we had years ago?

Voted yes i loved it but
MA needs to mix the sauce a little bit. Take risks.

Dude, if you pull the handbrake in the wrong situation, it can be deadly. I think using the normal brake is much safer - it's not about seconds.
There will be no play if there is nothing to play for, even if they invent a better system.

[Moderated to remove rule violation]

the game is made great by giving 99.9% of players something to aspire to. if someone investing 500k into gear with 5mil skills cannot handsomly profit by way of markup, then what is the point?

Look at the poll result. That is what you get when you do "less stuff if anything".

more stuff just begets more dillution. equipment that is special needs to feel special again. I speak for everyone when i say there is nothing special about a mod nano anymore because everyone has one.

We need paths to upgrade stuff like SZ said, or new gear slots/attachments with new/fun buffs.

We also MUST REBALANCE HUNTING LOOT TABLES

and none of this works if we do not force gambling crafters to consume tons of hunting/mining resources to craft stuff. nanocubes were a great idea but they need to die. this 0.5-1% extra markup on dogshit helps no one. I would rather just see 10x more shrapnel in loot and then oils/mats would rocket up in price 10%+

efficiency model is dead, everyone has 80+ eff now, there's zero competitive aspect here and nothing you invest in can increase your TT returns beyond a point whihc is fine for MA and us, but we need a factor to differentiate avatar A from avatar B. Such as increasingly nad exponentially rewarding DPP setups, and perhaps new professions that can further change loot compositions.

The point is: nobody owes you nothing, regardless of the level or investment.
I roll tens of thousands of peds each day. If i make right decisions, ill profit. If ill make wrong decisions, ill lose. And thats how it should be in RCE for everyone, without any exception.
All guaranteed profits turned to be loans from the future, that this community had to, eventually, pay up. Take your own responsability for your own risk.

What happened to making the atmosphere ingame suit the festive seasons? Boring mobs scattered everywhere with 1 model. So much missed potential by just lazy devs. Add in creepy ass music/sounds, create a haze of never ending night across caly and add fog with lanterns n spooky shit scattered. If you cant sort an economy or loot drops or the system atleast make it look legit on the outside. Please dont fuckup with christmas.

Go home folks, you drunk.

When event I don't find the energy to argue then clearly we are beating a dead horse

Simp out

playing an rce that does not provide an economic incentive during their seasonal events seems counterintuitive but somehow with all the suggestions over the past years how we had to remove all the carrots from the game because they were bad for it i really hope that those same players who wanted them gone and mindark who listened and chose to several times over do the exact wrong thing now see the consequences when the motivation and passion to play the game and improve in it slowly dissipates
last economic incentive said it all for me, sadly for others too, yet i m soo happy to see those who were pro-active and chat lovers being so so involved in the Mayhem as the game became the way they craved for

but hey.... it's a win, after all the many is important to be happy, the ones who have a strong collective voice either if they have 20% of the peds in game
20% ped -80 % players - vs - 20% players - 80% ped

funny thing is, the longer it takes for them to notice the harder is for some to get back, cause when u lose the rush and the calm is setting in u dont want to move a bit, take a snow recreational activity as example - once u get inside for a meal or idk cup of coffe/tea the game is over.

every second u delay to get back into game is growing other confort zones i.e. other games, other IRL activities, other interests and ppl with money have enormus potential to do whatever the fk they want.

on topic best thing they can do is to respect the players and keep they word, no matter what, a promise is a promise.

This would have been so cool.

I wish they'd do something like this for future events. 👍

Agreed 100%.

For Christmas give us some Mariah and snow

@Ludvig|MindArk

A quick way to fix this, short-term, is to implement:
- Mayhem Token 2.0
- Rare Mayhem Token 2.0
- Add new UL rewards which can be bought only for 2.0 tokens.
your proposal is exactly what MA did with previous mayhem. This just creates the same problem as before and it will surface in 2-3 years down the road.

MA has to do something different from this. Although the last mayhem was not ideal but we do see that MA is trying to change.

Make new token but DONT ADD UL UNTIL PLAYER BASE GROWN.

BWT Mike, You are posting the same thing over and over and over. No need for that.
