Curious how many of us still play through the old client loader and how many go through steam. Initially I wasn't going to change but I waned to be able to make a review and explore the other functions of steam so I switched. I also want to be part of the statistics.

Is it playable in handheld gaming consoles?

Yes, because i detest the amount of various game launchers that exist as it is. and EU's own buggy one that has a stroke every single time theres a minute game update.. yeh easy choice.

If anyone cared to read what entropias steam page said you, and everyone else would not need to think how it was going to work as it stated how it would work both client handling and account handling.

And the statistics part is a big and fairly valuable reason to why they borderline should just force everyone through steam. outside of the steam overlay, there is not really any new features, or different handling of the game itself.

Solution: Do you like the overlay? ok cool, no need to care. Dont like the overlay? go into steam settings, disable ingame overlay, cool it will now just be EU through a stable loader that wont have a stroke every week. (inb4 it still has a stroke trying to apply the updates).

Thanks for creating this! I didnt know how. 😅 Curious to see end result! 👍

Perhaps future plan to bolster the stats? Would make sense knowing how it affect games popularity and buy/download treshold. 🤔

Then again MA has kept the stats to themself in past so. 🤷‍♂️

Unique player numbers are often times kept "secret" in just about every game kinda, so that is not a MA unique thing.

There is also a never ending debate, about a games population, this is also not unique to EU xD

My saying just force people onto steam was more that in general, its easier for us, the player to generalize (?) a games health by seeing the trend of players, and updates etc. Games fully only on say, steam, push updates through steam, so for us the player, we would gain access too wether MA liked it or not, the ability to track updates, predict updates, and see a more broader picture of the games health and trends etc.

It wont happen, but for us the players, it would be nice. As i mentioned in a different thread the only metric i do hope we get to know is after, and if they start to advert the game on steam, and fix some issues first (hopefully), we get to see how many new people that are unique and started playing after stream release have started.

atm the number MA will see on steam, is going ot be a bit skewed because of so many going over and using steam instead of the launcher, so each steam user will appear as a unique account. but it would be nice to see how many new that started after say july 22 2025!

Yes and I think will stick to it as it bypassed the shitty client loader 🤣

I switched and it brought over all my settings (windowed mode, ui/screen layout). Was worried about the chat log but that just continued it naturally too.
Only thing I don't like about the steam launcher is the overlay. I've accidentally hit shift tab twice now. I'm sure there's a way to disable that or change the hotkey for it, but so far that's my only gripe

I haven't and yet decide if i do. I dont want my friends seeing how much i spend time here. 😅 I dont have anything against old launcher, haven't had any issues with it so far. Beside it looking old and not really displaying what is happening patch wise, enough often and in detail, but guess that could add to the EU history and feel. 🤔

Yes as soon as it was available, i removed the previous install and downloaded the 33GB from steam.

I was experiencing a few minor bugs lately with the old client, no more with steam 👍

And it's good for the steam charts.

Finally got paid after 176 business days...

You can turn off the overlay in settings.

Are there any security concerns with using the Steam as launcher ?

I don't like to have to open steam to play games. Steam can be a resource hog sometimes (even when disabling stuff).

Now I will switch over when we can purchase ammo packs through steam.
The webshop is really picky and only accepts one of my cards.

i switched to steam to play on win/linux platforms, at start it worked well, dont know how is it now

Not using Steam and won't be if not needed

Maybe. There's a Steam shitstorm going on legally this year. It seems Valve has pissed off the PTB and they are all in with the all stops out on the offensive. Valve is winning the court cases so far but it looks to me like its gonna be a continuous flow of back foot operations for the foreseeable future. Exactly the last thing MA needs. Personally, I like their position especially on the privacy front.

No though you can play it weirdly on the non-steam OS side with some work.

The game works wonderfully on both my Steamdeck and Lenovo Legion Go. The only issue with Steamdeck is the low resolution (1280 x 800) so I made adjustments to my UI layout so I can seamlessly play on either my main PC or the Steamdeck at anytime. Just have to setup a custom control layout on these handhelds for best functionality.

It works for now and hopefully it will continue to work when UE5 update is released also.

I don't know but i think this is completely different from what we have in EU, counter strike boxes and keys can be both bought in steam store but you can't buy that for EU. EU also just can take game down from steam store if it would really go that far that loot boxes getting completely forbidden, UE5 gonna run on Epic Game Store anyways and they don't care at all about loot boxes

I already use steam for some other games, so having EU on steam is a no brainer.
One less loader for me. Of course Entropia has to compete now with all other games in my library :D

I have switched . I seen on Steam as I play Star Wars- Old Republic game
