Disappointed, But Honest – My Final Thoughts / Feedback

I fully understand OP's sentiments and fully agree with him. Gameplay is bad and game world is boring. This are what is lacking in my opinion :

1)Weather or climate changes. Game feel dead and always the same. World should be different night and day, new mobs should come out at night. There should be rare npcs or mobs which appear only on special times.

2)factions, repuation among npcs..etc. There needs to be some sort of karma/faction system.

3)Need more intersting npcs around open world where you can bump into and interact with and might give you clues to to hidden treasures or some quest which you can fail..and some quests where your decision actually affect the outcome..For example you can randomly stumble upon a confrontation of some sort unfold and you can choose which side to help..etc

4)Every where in the world should have npcs and inhabitants who you can talk to and gossip with and should have their own story. And world must always be changing..So for example if someone killed someone's son, the son will stay dead and the npc will be affected and he will respond a different way in future to other player. Mobs also should aggro these roaming npcs and you can choose to help.

5)need some super hardcore PVE raiding content. And to fix gameplay add in some movement stuff to make gameplay more fast pace, like charging/roll..etc. This will enable more interesting fight mechanics where you must avoid at good timing and such.

I would like to throw in a little reminder. One of the most exciting elements of Project Entropia and later EU was the discovery: discovery of new places (like Umbra settlements), some landmarks, and activities around them. It used to be a total effort running around just to add a new TP to your map. Now you just buy a vehicle, get a ready map and off you drive/fly. There is no sense of achievement in this game anymore. Maybe MA could introduce new discoveries, new places, secret somethings, whatever. It's all too easy now, and all you put an effort into is grind - grind hunting, grind mining, etc. Just a routine monotonic activity to level up. Sucks. Boring. Outdated.

I always wanted factions in Entropia - somewhere to build towards a reputation level that allows your to purchase certain items - they can be account bound and have a big tt cost, that doesnt really matter, but the item itself allows us to do something which was previously not possible. A certain buff, a certain instance unlocked, a certain something that gives an edge above others.

A few of these missions do exist already, i guess... Like the cystal palace mission -> cave mission.

It's hard to believe I've been playing this game in some form or fashion since 2004. I can understand where the OP is coming from. I took at step back from EU to go to school and then returned with only a good chunk of hunting skills. Building up my avatar and it's kit has been enjoyable but I still don't have as much time to play as I did back in 2004. It's always a constant juggle between life's responsibilities and rewarding activities/hobbies. I used to never think about spending 6-8hrs playing EU on the weekends but these days, even if I could spend that time playing, its difficult to compete against the 24/7 crew that regularly pop the excellent loot. EU is one option where I can spend free time and sometimes I really get into it but I have other activities that are just as enjoyable and rewarding if not more. I do like EU otherwise I would have never returned to active play so this isn't about dragging MA. I don't really boohoo anyone for taking a step back nor those who jump into the deep end, you have to do what is right for you. EU is really no different than any other hobby when it comes to "time" its the finite resource we all have to take into account on whether something is worth it or not.

One of the things I love about EU is it's NOT a twitch based game, there are thousands of games where your fingers and response time matter...I don't play those for a reason. I would hate to see EU become "like everything else" it's differences are what make it special.

high five from another 2004'er

I think once the realization that just breaking even in this game is like a second full-time job hits, the only thing that player's have is sunk cost fallacy.

The game-play is basically slot machine design. Hours and hours of boring pulls for the 'chance' at a jackpot.

The good news is: there are plenty of other games out there! Jump into something else for a while.

I don't mind spending or losing money if it's for entertainment purposes -- nothing wrong with us paying for entertainment is there?

I returned to the game about a year ago after a several year absence. Deposited a few hundred just to see how things are. Enjoyed myself; game was a bit of a ghost town but I still was having fun.

Then I saw some criticisms about the game's direction on these forums (I don't even remember the specifics). MA locked the thread and deleted it. Then I saw it happen again a week later.

Personally I felt this was grossly unacceptable censorship and immediately sold everything and cashed out. Wouldn't be surprised to see this thread get deleted too if it gains enough traction. The game used to be community driven but now it just seems so corporate.

Here are rules to be followed. Majority of critism is not deleted. There have been reasons I have been thinking to do same than you, but never for that reason.
