The people that voted YES in this poll must have lost their minds if they like the mining as it is now...

I do, don't think I lost my mind. :umn:

I have not once had a bad tt return on a mining run since the change, and I like that. Globals are way down, but I don't care about that. I guess it depends on why you mine and if you can endure large fluctuations in returns.

It has its ups and downs indeed... for ups would be the more stable returns... for downs, it's just so fricking boring now, you take 500 bombs and you will already know every claim you will get on that run with 99.99% certainty.
That is, pretty much the opposite of "dynamic" to me.
 
I do like that it is not as volatile as it was, however I think the change was a bit much.

I'm completely mind boggled. This change is big bad news. I have a great idea, lets alienate the gamblers. Wicked.
 
How come on PCF everyone that uses amps is a "gambler?" just wondering....I know many amped miners (well they used to amp) that did quite well with amps before MA decided to fuck it all up...some actually profit and withdraw...oh wait...it's only cool if a hunter or land owner does it...I got it now....pffft...

They didn't, they made it better, unless you need to get your jollies from some graphic display around your avatar and some do-do do doos.
 
Simply put it's extremely boring to mine without amps.

Was just looking at tracker earlier, 16 globals/hofs combined by all players amped/unamped in 1h30min.

If i can do better on a bad day, does this mean the Nukes are about to hit??

2. beacon TT removed from claim value
3. artificial shortages, resources moving planets.
4. rise in common amp prices (see previous).
5. markup crash due to higher TT return. (combined with previous)
6. lystfest, you dont know from one minute to the next what spawns in a "field".
7. those not at 90% TT return when the change hit are screwed?

it is good for the casual miner that TT return is more even.

so yeah, i understand why quite a few miners are pissed off with the changes to mining, it wasnt the most exciting profession to begin with, and now with 90% of claims being the same size, what is there to keep you interested.

thats the problem MA seems to have, they make huge "panic" changes, "everyone" understood that a slightly more even TT return would make mining better for the more casual miner, nobody wanted every claim to be exactly the same size?

Most of that has nothing to do with what is really at issue, which is high variability ("dynamic") vs. low variability. That stuff is seperate issues.

Well, if you don't have any skills there's a plausible possibility you'll find a claim which includes both event items AND one or two cld. I wonder if mining is intentionally changed or simply broken.

That's what i've been hoping...but with every passing day my hope fades a bit more.

well mainly, but they are also somewhat connected, and represent quite a change in total, the high variability has moved from the TT return to the resource one gets it seems, the variability in TT return could be overcome with a proper bankroll and mining knowledge gained by dropping lots of probes and creating a map of resources and relying on markup, leaving room for a smart player to do better than a lazy one.

i understand that MA might have to limit certain resources, but the way things are now with them creating artificial and temporary shortages of resources "randomly" doesnt seem to benefit anyone, crafter, miner or end user?

anyways, i dont see this as seperate issues but a interconnected one, and i think its a shame MA cant use their imagination a bit and try a more subtle approach instead of "panic" style changes.

I guess I just never saw mining as "fun". I see as a way to make peds. So to me, as long as the tt return is there and some markup can be found, it works for me.

I have a job in real life, I don't need to "make" peds in EU...I play (mine) to have fun. ;) (At least I used to.) :)

Still a "Yes" from me, less globals and Hof's but I prefer the "lesser sloped" rollercoaster when mining.



Even obtained my 1st ever mining HOF (ok only a tiny one) recently.
 
I guess the thing here is that EU - as evidenced in the simplified mechanics of all professions - is moving away from an enjoyable form of entertainment and becoming more a battle to not spend too much money. If the end game is to lose as little as possible, then for me, the obvious "win" is to not play anymore... which helps noone (except my bank account).

Fun is almost non-existant in EU as it is (I hardly play any more, as in I don't do fk all any more, the game plays for me... almost autonomously) and the only remaining fun part of mining (big hofs) has now been placed basically out of reach.

Beforehand; mining was profit or fun/gamble, crafting was profit or fun/gamble, hunting was fun.
Now; mining is profit, crafting is loss, hunting is gamble.
There is no more fun.

Personally with mining becoming what it is, my last bastion of solace within this universe, is gone.
And I'm more than a little bit pissed about it.

I have stop playing almost one week tomorow I go droop more few bombs if still same more 1 week will come.
 
just a side note i have over 600 claims mostly whit dual drops with a lvl4 amp and not a single global. do i mind... not realy even the tt return is not so bad but its better than it was in the big swings time!

I repet its much better for satrters. But im sure this is just a test Period by MA. They are working at adjusting the system. we just need to be pacient.

all what they read on forum is complaining about big losses. Now in this prfesion, its not so easy to do that atm. im sure it will improve the loot size!

Now? Mining is gain. Crafting is loss. Hunting is 50/50. This is my take on it.

Nothing will change untill players have enough of MA's bullshit. I don't know how people view how a company shuold do business but i view that as stealing.

Good thing MA has started with their wide spread advertisment, oh they didn't cause they'd receive negative feedback and most likely a visit from inspectors and the likes shuting their place down untill they can prove to people, with every line of their code, that this is in fact not a casino rip-off and a front for money laundering.

I don't have any proof of this but neither does anyone else so my point is valid, untill proven otherwise.

As Raito already said EU is defenetly a form of online gambling there is no doubt about it but with a diference that Mindark is lying about it to avoid gambling TAX and ofcoz gambling regulations about winings returns that we all know are terible in EU and geting worse with every patch that claims to be fixing loot. In 4 years that i play EU did improve as a game but loot is much less then when i started!

Now u have to understand i am not complaining or anything about the returns i am only stating that it would be nice to be able to play the game without having to deposit 500€ per month to be able to hunt ATROX as it was case for me in past year loosing around 10.000€ in this game until now. As for minig it's now simply boring smal claims rare globlas HOF's are mostly sub 1k and crafting simply said is 3-5% sucess rate with maxed BP's on condition.

Hope rest of u guy's has better luck in this game and again Raito +1.
