The minerals are expected to be gathered by robot forces and certain more intelligent animals, including getting consumed by non-Calypsian aliens and certain crustaceans. For a complete list of animals known to exhibit these behaviors, courtesy of the Colonial Xenobiological Institute, please see below:

I think they just listed the animals for fun, go mining instead.

Some further information was also given regarding the ships themselves. They will be warp-capable, having an open slot for a limited warp drive, but do not come pre-equipped with one. Like other ships in this weight class, it will also be unable to land on planets.

Laaaaame....I was thinking in my head these were gonna be reskinmed equus with UL warp drives. Suddenly I have 0 interest in competing. Ah well. Have at it guys! Guess I'll grind mobs and take advantage of the event to make some peds. Win win I suppose!

I heard that sometimes neurons collide in people brains and they get some really absurd ideeas, though could be just a legend

Edit and P.S: some of us love Rocktropia and its a really awsome designed planet
 
This is perfect, Calypso is getting a much needed boost that it's been missing since Migration, an event that happened quite a while ago.

Looking forward to the bloodshed and I sit back and hope for better than 2 and 3 pec cldt returns XD

Hope the astroid kill all lifeforms on the planet Calypso. Calypso was a failure. Lets move to another planet!

Has anyone noticed any change in mining so far during this event? Aside from the awful hit rate that is.
