Lol, I like the EU slot machine. You should see the crafting machines in the Tiki bar on NI, they are arranged like slot machines :)

lol I like the 2nd+3rd one! :)
MA=Hitler is crap tho. should be removed. -.,-

Amazing how so many people still cannot understand comedy... and more amazing even, how can someone feel insulted by it...

Is this forum administrated by chinese political tactics?

Or maybe by naz...
I cannot say the rest or the censor may send me to a concentration camp!

Im shocked, it has been removed.

But you are aware of the fact that you have set the developers of this game equal with Hitler on their official forum right?
I guess on ef.de people may or may not find this picture funny.... but on THIS forum you can be very glad that you've got away with an edited post.
Anyway just my opinion on that topic and I am sure you are aware of the laws in germany concerning this topic so try to be carefull.
That topic should be done now though so better to focus on the pics which are left and they are pretty cool. :yay:

But you are aware of the fact that this kind of censorship is very Adolf Hitler like, and that you have not the slightest idea what a caricature is about?

It's too bad a cartoon was removed. I recall a couple years back a cartoonist was attacked for picturing the Muslim prophet in a negative way. But it is sad to me. Cartoons are humor. We all need to learn to laugh at ourselves more and take things a touch less seriously.

If you'll note, I left the other, not-so-pleasing caricatures in. I thought they were funny.

My reason for removing the Hitler one may have been a personal bias against that crap. There's been a slew of Hitler comparisons lately. Every single president, leader, government, political group, even businesses have ALL had their opponents try to compare them to Nazi/Hitler and it's god damn ridiculous.

In accordance with rule 3.6 - Real-world Controversial Discussion, I'll refrain from getting more specific.

Please keep in mind this forum rule:

4.3 - Objectionable Image Content
Pornographic, sexually explicit or excessively violent imagery is NOT permitted anywhere on PlanetCalypsoForum. Obscene images, pornography, or offensive content related to gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, and any other imagery or language that the Forum Staff deems inappropriate will be deleted without notice. This rule also applies to avatar, profile and signature images. In most cases, a member will be sent a private message requesting that the image in question be replaced, unless the material is extremely offensive in the Forum Staff's sole discretion, in which case it will be immediately removed without notice. Any such posting may result in a temporary or permanent ban from the forum.

Noplan is in no way being attacked, punished or anything else. I simply removed a pic that crossed the line. It's quite a difference.

Godwin's Law

It's Godwin's Law it was bound to happen sooner or later :ahh:

Bad comparison on my part JC, I just feel that humor, even black humor is often shut down when it is not meant to be an actual direct attack. Nothing against you. I understand the reasoning here and I myself get tired of the Hitler comparisons. I just feel there is a difference between a comedic comparison and some news pundit or politico making a real world comparison.

Now i understand your mistake.

It's not a 1:1 comparison. It's an artistic overstatement. It is supposed to be god damn ridiculous to catch attention.

But it has a true message inside. People who can interpret caricatures well, know what i mean.

Please keep in mind this forum rule:

Dont argue with that.

Rules that are made by a forum operator, are a tiny form of dictatorship. Just my constructive opinion.

There is freedom of speech and then there is a little thing called censorship where you could take other peoples feelings into account before saying something. Not everyone will always take what you say the same way as you intended. Some people feel very emotional or passionate about the things that are said or the way they are said. So when your censored it shouldnt be taken personally that jsut means someone was offended by what you had said. So I wouldnt feel abd something was removed you may find it funny a vast group of people might but there also might be someone who doesnt and to put it in perspective just think of something usually during high school years where everyone was laughing but you about a topic.

There is nothing to misunderstand. The Title of my Thread indicates that these are caricatures.

There is no reason to take it personaly, because Mindark is a juristic person/ company name.

It doesnt matter what the title is what is displayed is what matters unless of course the title were to contain offensive material. The only way to get around such a thing would be to start with an open thread where you cannot continue until you accept an agreement that what you are about to see might be offensive. Then no one can argue anything if they are offended cause then, well they shouldnt have continued. maybe post your caricatures on an outside site and post a thread here saying follow this link for a little humor however, be forwarned the content might be offensive to some. Or even if its oyur own website then you can post whatever you want but since this is someone elses website you have to abide by their rules of conduct.

Under the condition that this is a caricature, it is not offensive, by the objective understanding.

Its legal, by our human rights.

Regardless of whether you see in your subjective mind a violation.

What would you do if I came and painted a caricature of you as Hitler on the wall of your house? Would you leave it there, or get rid of it?

A caricature is by no means suddenly excluded as something offensive, any type of comedy material can be offensive no matter what it is called. By no means is a caricature protected by any type of subjection. And if you would know the very definition of the word "caricature" there are a couple of definitions:

1. comic exaggeration: a drawing, description, or performance that exaggerates somebody's or something's characteristics for humorous or satirical effect
(satirical: using wit, especially irony, sarcasm, and ridicule, to criticize faults)

And

2. travesty: a ridiculously inappropriate or unsuccessful version of or attempt at something.

Which tells you right there it might be offensive just because it is comedy doesnt give it any type of immunity from human emotions. There is plenty of comedy in history where some find it funny and some find it offensive that doesnt mean it was right or wrong because it brought laughter and happiness to some and feelings of anger and sadness to others. But much like a place of business and this website no matter what your views are the only ones that matter are the ones set in place by the owners of the website or said business. If they find it offensive as another person pointed out in the terms it will be censored or removed. Sense of humor is much like taste buds, it differs from person to person. Someones humor will be affected by the time, region, and peers around them will shape a persons humor much like the rest of their personality. On a side note for the satirical definition we dont know what your comedy will be until it is read or the person is given a forewarning. Put it this way if you criticize someones faults for laughter among friends does that mean because it was meant to be funny and comedic that the person being critized shouldnt be offend? But in no means am I saying this to defend either of you and everyone loves a good laugh and some of your pictures were funny but not everyone will take it the same way.

Okey, but this is still a caricature.

A harmless overstated painting!

This needs actually not much intelligence to be understood right. Why should someone feels offended, if there is no reason for?

Okay I'm just wondering, are you trying to get a temp ban? Everything you have done since returning from where ever you've been looks like classic trolling.

I shared my caricatures and one of them was removed.

Now i try to explain, what a caricature is.

I wouldn't if there were no misunderstandings about it. Dont get me wrong.

I dont force someone to bring my caricature back. I just explain. Is that wrong?

Only under the condition that this is the house where i give my customers the possibility to give feedback about my products they paid for.

So you might remove it depending on the rules you had set for your own house.

Which is precisely what has happened here.

No,

as a company i cant make rules for my custumers how and in wich form they have to think about my buisness.

Either they are satisfied or not.

Just to remind you of the meaning of caricatures.

The discussion about the meantioned topics. I mean, isnt that effective? Who would deny it?

Good night!

Don't even try to argue with them; you have to be politically-correct in here. And watch for the ban.

Ok, so what I learned from that page:

Wikipedia said:
a portrait that exaggerates or distorts the essence of a person or thing to create an easily identifiable visual likeness. In literature, a caricature is a description of a person using exaggeration of some characteristics and oversimplification of others

Now i understand your mistake.

OK, so since I obviously don't get your art, I'll let the caricature come back if you can answer one question:

What characteristic of MA are you trying to oversimplify or overstate that you didn't express with the other caricatures?

check his post count and date joined then look at yours, all i see when i come here now is a comment by you on something telling someone what to do and how they should do it.
