Entropia on Linux

I know this is an older post but I'm just getting in to Ubuntu because Windows security updates are about to stop for Windows 10 and I have a very decent workstation laptop that supports DirectX 11 from 2011 and the only step I have left is to install DirectX 11, I'm going to tackle that tonight. I've opened entropia on the steam app and from the official launcher on Ubuntu, it's just a crawl speed because I have AMD and I haven't yet installed DirectX 11 but I'm going to try. If you get stuck at 95% and the progress bar won't progress on the updater then I had to install webview2 directly from the Microsoft website. Seems way easier if you use NVIDIA, my Nvidia PC worked straight up off the snap store installation from steam with little grunt work to do.

Hiho, I switched some weeks ago to Linux and so from EU-client to Steam-version.
My very first blood here was a 52 PED Daikiba - looks like a nice start without you Mr. Win. :naughty:

Can't find the txt-file from my ingame chat logging like in the past with Win. Where can I find it now?
I also created the missing files per hand where they was in client-version but no logging for poor Tony.

Hey. Welcome to a better future :girl:

Philip Mercer below is correct, for me its in
/home/username/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/3642750/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Entropia Universe

This might be from when i was using Crossover:
I don't have chat logging enabled but if memory serves, it should be in this folder (replace 'username' with your actual username)
/home/username/Documents/Entropia Universe

It might also be in the actual game files ... in Steam go to the Settings page of the game ("Manage") > Properties > Installed FIles > Browse

hth,
Sok

I switched to the normal steam version too, had some issues at first it was because of the proton I first tried. The game was shuting down from time to time if I use cachyos runtime, changed it. And it works completely perfect after that.

Search for the chat log in steamapps/compatdata/the numbers for the game steam installation/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/deocuments/entropia universe.
The file is there in my Cachyos.

Same here, but turning off GPU in the options made them appear again, mostly rendering at 2 FPS, but that has always been like that.

embedded browser have an options? where?

Maybe this will be useful to someone - I had issues running EU on Fedora (Wayland): everything was extremely small. Installing gamescope helped, but then I ran into mouse problems (the cursor was invisible). I managed to fix it by adding the --force-grab-cursor flag. Here are the Steam launch arguments that work for me:

Code:
gamescope --mouse-sensitivity 1.0 --force-grab-cursor --grab -H 1440 -- %command%

When i would like to run news and voting screen, game freezes. Im using Lutris.
