Entropia Universe 11.9.0 Release Notes

The reason for this is, if you find an unknown claim and get killed by a mob that spawns on you out of thin air, you will probably go back to get it.

Before if I saw it was a tiny oil I wouldn't bother, now you just don't know.

It's a way for MindArk and the Planet partners to make more money. If you don't know what it is then you'll go back to try and claim it. When I would mine and a mob would kill me out of nowhere and it was a tiny hit of lysterium I would just not dig it up and leave it there. No point in digging it up if I'm just going to die time and time again trying to get the thing. See my point? Dying and dying and dying to get it? MA is very smart on this one... too bad it has turned me off to mining as well now :)

What if you dig up each claim as you go? Going back to get it kind of makes the assumption that you drop all your bombs and THEN go back and dig everything up. Not everyone mines that way.

And since we can summon claims, it makes it easier to pull claims away from mobs that might be sitting near it.

So I still don't see the point. Before if it was unknown, I could at least click on the deed and figure out how big it was as I was running up to it. If I could pull it up in one shot, I'd run up, hit the button then turn and run to continue on. Now I have to stand there and wait to see if that's all its going to give me. All this does is waste more time and annoys the shit out of me.

They really should do away with unknown claims altogether. MA certainly doesn't get any extra PED out of me by having the claim unknown in the first place, so I fail to see what the purpose is...

And I will dig up every claim regardless. On a tiny, it'll cost you no more than 1 pec to dig up a minimum of 19 pec up to 99 pec. That seems worth it to me.
 
WTF is the point of this? Unknown claims already annoyed the shit out of me. Now they just made it worse? :scratch2::mad:

Everything else seems like a reasonable addition, but this one pisses me off...

I do agree. I've never like the idea of "unknown" itself, it doesnt add much thrill to the thing...
 
OMG I cant believe it SPARKLES They have given us SPARKLES. Finaly something that shows us the full capacity and infinite potential of the CRY 2 engine that was implimented over a year and a half ago, something to place this game apart from all the others. I'ts unbelievable OMG

I have written it already in another thread, but ... its the kind of "project" you would give a new hire. Remember about MA getting new hires? Right, so they need relatively easy things to start off with. Having lootable mobs sparkle sounds like a nice little project where you deal with both server and client side for new employees to be involved in.

It is entirely ridiculous when people point at minor features and then go "hey! you should have given us a major system instead!!!!"

The mining changes could be nice, have to try.
Grace period is nice.
Sparkles, well - doesn't hurt, could be nice. We'll see.

But the best, IMHO, is the way it's presented to us - I love long, detailed release notes!

Tools button disappeared from client loader

...when I installed the update. And after uninstalling and reinstalling it is still gone, which means I can not launch the game. :eyecrazy:

Try this: In the client loader Screen make sure the little web browser part has the input focus by moving the slider on the right side a little bit down. Then press Alt-L. This works only if the button is still there but in the wrong place.(Somewhere where you can't see it.) Good luck!

Edit: If that doesn't work maybe the button somehow has the wrong parent control. Try clicking other parts of the window and press Alt-L.

Edit 2: Waitwaitwaitwait... You said Tools button? Why can't you launch the game without the Tools button?

Tools button disappeared from client loader

I can't launch the game if I can't check the windows mode box in the tools menu. I have my pc connected to a 50" plasma. If that box is not checked it says mode not supported.
I just don't understand why the tools button has disappeared and why it dosn't come back even after reinstalling the game.

Ah, now I get it. Well, you could try this: First focus the launch button by clicking it with the mouse and while keeping the left mouse button down you move the mouse cursor away from the button. Now release the left mouse button. If it worked the lunch button has now a light grey frame. Now press tab once. Your invisible tools button now has the focus *if* it's still there somewhere. Now press space. Good luck.

I am THRILLED by claims showing on radar. And ...wtf'ed by "unknown" idea.
 
what is loot sprinkle effect? can someone post a screenie?

It's a metaphor for the miasma of death and the futility of the hunt combined with the crushed hopes of the hunter.
Plus it's the only thing they could give us that's more worthless than nova frags.
 
I can't believe there are people again complaining about this update which i find awesome TBH.
_ Possibility of summoning claims that can't be reached/guarded by deadly mob ---> good!
_ Dead mobs that you killed easily located thanks to the sprinkles ----> good! (only yours glow, so you don't need to check every left carcasses you think you left behind but was killed by someone else or that the turret got by accident :D)
_ Claims appear in the radar ---> come on, you have to love this one
_ Unkown: kind of annoying, but feels like a taste of the old PE :D
_ Oh, and i heard the VTOLs now have a cooldown period ----> good too (exploits will be harder)
 
you can please some of the people some of the time but you cant please all of the people all of the time. Basically there is always someone in this world who disagrees.
 
keep the game moving forward, change is a good thing. Almost every person that post in this thread is a forum troll that just waits for the opportunity to pounce on anything.

Every now and again something in this game happens and gets changed. Dont like it refuse to adapt? No one is making you stay.

Tested it, and loved it! It adds a bit of excitement, and IMHO any claim should be "unknown" until we touch it - at least for beginners. Unlocking "Ground Assessment" could then show some of the claims correctly (= like today), unlocking "Mineral sense" even more, finally "Miner" would show all with their minerals?

Priceless to get the swirleys when touching the claim, ways better then getting them running. In my opinion.

All in all I really love this VU.
Nothing ground-breaking, but a lot of small improvements, and good & detailed release notes. More like such, please! ;-)

no more afk-scanning with the auto-tool, turns off after 7-8 scans... at least on ava's (on cp)
Looks like the new way to balance all the scanner drops? :laugh:

But during a night hunting, its now worse: the black body is still somewhere on the black ground but now there is these light whith high contrast and the eyses only see them, no way to distinguish the body.

Yes, because the sprinkle effect clearly appears at a totally random spot with no relation to the corpse...

Now, that plain BS.. it did get better, but faar away from good, i still cant hunt bigger mobs, since i still just drop/crash.
An im not onlone with that prob..

like i did say before,, any other online game would have been working there ass off to get something like this done and fixed

No they refuse to fix any issues or address any concerns due to the fact that they have no time to communicate with the consumers! :) I thought there would be more SDS personnel being hired to work on the forums just posting to our questions? That would be great..I guess all they do all day is program stuff that is all bugged out which takes x10 updates in order to fully fix it.

That poor lone beercan was in SDS' office. As it would make the office look really bad if it really was a leftover, let's give them the benefit of a dubt and say it was needed to model a beer can.

MA uses "BASE"...
