The problem with the two events in the past you're referring to, is that both of those events used a 'raffle' and 'sweepstakes' system. In those old events that got closed, 100% of the prizes were put into 3 places that somebody else was drawing the winning #'s for. Someone else's activity chose the winners of the prizes. This was a big problem, because even winning anything was completely out of the participants control.
This event, GoldGrinder, is not setup at all like those past two events that were closed. This event rewards every single global, and all rewards are dependent upon the participants activity utilizing MindArk's global system. There are a multitude of other event promoters currently running jackpots similar to these.
This event DOES NOT use any sort of raffle system or randomized components outside the participants control. This event relies 100% on MindArk's in-game global system, and is dependent on the individual users global activity. All prize distribution in this event is tied to the participants in game global activity, there are no outside factors or components.
Gold and Silver are awarded based on MindArk's global system. 70% of the rewards in this event are obtained through the grind, it is overwhelmingly classified as a grinder event. There's a level progression system, weekly and monthly competition element, and of course personal Gold and Silver from every global, as well as daily bonuses. GoldGrinder's jackpot element, like other current running jackpot events, only makes up a small component of the total rewards. The vast majority of the rewards are going straight to the participants every global they get.
If there were an issue with this event, there would be an issue with the following other events:
Entropialife/BIG Industries - Monthly Progressive
8-ball Jackpot at OLA40
Osseocollum Mega Markup Jackpot loots
The Ambuliped jackpot
etc.
